Abstract

This article examines Islamic educational values embedded in the Brokohan tradition as a form of local wisdom practiced by the community of Kramattemenggung Village, Sidoarjo Regency. The study aims to analyze the values of Islamic education related to faith (aqidah), Islamic law (shari’ah), and morality (akhlaq) internalized in the Brokohan ritual as a cultural practice celebrating childbirth. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed inductively and validated using source triangulation. The findings indicate that the Brokohan tradition embodies Islamic educational values that contribute to religious character formation, particularly through the inculcation of monotheism, observance of Islamic practices, and moral cultivation. The tradition serves as a cultural-educational medium integrating Islamic teachings with local cultural expressions.

Abstract

This study examines the Qur’anic perspective on interreligious relations in the contemporary world, emphasizing the relevance of its principles in addressing modern pluralistic societies. Islam, as a divinely revealed religion, acknowledges the existence of other religions while maintaining the theological conviction that Islam is the religion approved by God. The Qur’an recognizes religious diversity as part of divine will and explicitly rejects coercion in matters of faith. Employing a thematic interpretation approach (tafsir maudhui), this study systematically collects and analyzes Qur’anic verses related to interreligious relations. The findings reveal that the Qur’an promotes principles such as tolerance, justice, peace, equality, and consultation as foundations for ethical coexistence with non-Muslims, while preserving doctrinal exclusivity in matters of belief (aqidah).

Abstract

Poverty and economic inequality remain major challenges in many Muslim-majority countries, particularly among poor and vulnerable communities. Various Islamic social finance instruments such as Islamic microfinance, zakat, and waqf have significant potential to promote economic empowerment; however, their management is often partial and fragmented. This condition results in impacts that are not yet optimal and lack sustainability. This article aims to propose a conceptual model for integrating Islamic microfinance, zakat, and waqf as a strategy for sustainable community empowerment. The methodology employed consists of a literature review and conceptual analysis of Islamic economic theory and social finance practices. The main findings indicate that the integration of these three instruments can create synergy between social protection, productive financing, and asset sustainability.
