Abstract

The automotive industry is a highly competitive sector requiring continuous improvement in efficiency and productivity. Lean Manufacturing has emerged as a powerful methodology for eliminating waste and optimizing production processes. This study aims to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of Lean Manufacturing tools in improving the production process of a selected automotive company in Indonesia. A qualitative and quantitative approach was employed, including value stream mapping, waste identification, and implementation of tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and production records. The findings indicate a significant reduction in lead time by 23%, a 17% increase in production output, and enhanced workflow efficiency. The study concludes that Lean Manufacturing significantly contributes to process optimization in the automotive industry and offers practical implications for managers seeking operational excellence.

Abstract

This study investigates the structural strength of reinforced concrete incorporating fly ash as a supplementary material. Fly ash, a byproduct of coal combustion in power plants, has pozzolanic properties that can enhance the performance of concrete. The primary aim is to evaluate the mechanical properties and durability of reinforced concrete when partially replacing Portland cement with varying percentages of fly ash. An experimental approach was used, involving compressive strength testing, flexural strength analysis, and durability assessments over different curing periods. The results indicate that fly ash improves long-term strength and sustainability while reducing cement usage. The optimum fly ash content observed was 20%, which demonstrated a balance between strength gain and environmental benefits. These findings suggest that fly ash is a viable alternative material in reinforced concrete construction for improving structural performance and sustainability.

Abstract

The use of plastic waste in road construction has emerged as an innovative solution to address both infrastructure durability and environmental sustainability. This study aims to investigate the effect of plastic-modified asphalt mixtures on the durability of road pavements in tropical climates, particularly in Central Lombok. The research adopts an experimental method using various proportions of polyethylene plastic waste (2%, 4%, and 6% by weight of bitumen) in asphalt mixtures. Samples were tested for stability, flow, and resistance to moisture damage using the Marshall test. The results show that the 4% plastic-modified asphalt mixture exhibits optimal performance in terms of load resistance and moisture susceptibility. The findings suggest that plastic waste integration not only improves asphalt pavement performance but also supports local waste management initiatives. This study contributes to sustainable road construction practices in tropical regions and highlights the potential of plastic waste reuse in infrastructure development.

Abstract

The increasing concern about plastic waste has prompted researchers to explore sustainable alternatives in construction materials. This study investigates the compressive strength of concrete with the addition of recycled plastic fibers as supplementary material. The objective is to determine whether the integration of plastic fibers improves or compromises the mechanical performance of the concrete mix. Experimental methods involved creating concrete specimens with varying percentages (0%, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%) of shredded recycled plastic fibers. Standard tests for compressive strength were conducted after 28 days of curing. The results show that the addition of 0.5% and 1% plastic fibers enhances the compressive strength compared to the control mix, while the 1.5% composition results in a decrease. These findings suggest that there is an optimal range for plastic fiber addition that benefits concrete performance. The research contributes to sustainable construction practices by proposing an eco-friendly reuse of plastic waste.

Abstract

The complexity and globalized nature of the electronic components supply chain presents numerous challenges related to transparency, traceability, and security. Current centralized systems are vulnerable to data manipulation and lack real-time visibility, resulting in counterfeiting and inefficiencies. This study aims to explore the implementation of blockchain technology in enhancing transparency and security within the electronic components supply chain. A qualitative method was adopted, involving literature reviews and case studies of leading blockchain adoption in electronics supply management. The research highlights how blockchain's decentralized and immutable ledger offers significant advantages in traceability, counterfeit prevention, and supplier accountability. Results show that incorporating blockchain into supply chain operations reduces data asymmetry and improves stakeholder trust. Furthermore, smart contracts enable automation of verification and payment processes, increasing operational efficiency. The study concludes that blockchain holds transformative potential in securing and optimizing electronic supply chains and recommends further development of interoperable standards and regulatory frameworks.
