Abstract

Thematic learning in elementary schools still faces the problem of low student memory retention due to less interactive instructional practices and limited use of educational technology. In fact, thematic learning requires active student engagement to ensure long-term understanding and retention of learning materials. This study aims to examine the implementation of gamified thematic learning using the Quizizz Super application to improve the memory retention of fourth-grade students. The research subjects consisted of fourth-grade students and classroom teachers directly involved in gamification-based thematic learning. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design grounded in grounded research principles. Data were collected through desk review, observation, interviews, questionnaires, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. The results indicate that the implementation of gamification using Quizizz Super enhances student engagement, facilitates better understanding of thematic content, and strengthens students’ memory retention of the learning materials.

Abstract

This study is to investigate ethnomathematics in the traditional Banyuanyar Probolinggon game Gobak Sodor on mathematical ideas like gradients, vectors, and point-to-point distance. Based on the information gathered and the data collected through observations and interviews, this study employs an anthropological approach to describe a thorough investigation of a culture. In order to comprehend ethnomathematics in relation to mathematical notions like vectors, gradients, and point-to-point distances, this study focuses on the Gobak Sodor game, one of the traditional games played in Banyuanyar Probolinggo. This demonstrates how mathematical ideas and methods of deepening in earlier research that have connections to geometric mathematical notions like flat shapes are related to the traditional game Gobak Sodor in Banyuanyar Probolinggo. The use of traditional game media in mathematics education can have advantages, such as helping students visualize mathematical topics in a realistic setting, which improves their comprehension.

Abstract

Strengthening character education has become a strategic issue in contemporary education in response to moral, social, and emotional challenges faced by students. The Love-Based Curriculum is an educational approach that places love as a foundational value for holistic character development. This study aims to describe the profile of the Love-Based Curriculum in strengthening students’ character education, including its conceptual foundation, principles, implementation methods, and developed character values. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Research subjects included school leaders, teachers, and students involved in the implementation of the Love-Based Curriculum. The findings indicate that the profile of the Love-Based Curriculum is reflected in the integration of love values into learning planning, instructional practices, school culture, and character-strengthening activities. This curriculum contributes to the development of students’ empathy, tolerance, responsibility, and social and spiritual awareness.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is a fundamental skill that elementary school students must acquire to understand and apply mathematical concepts in everyday life. However, numeracy learning in elementary schools is still predominantly abstract, causing students’ numeracy literacy to be underdeveloped. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Market Day method in improving elementary school students’ numeracy literacy skills. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with students of SDIT Permata Leces as the research subjects. Data were collected through observations, interviews, a simple numeracy literacy test, and documentation. The research was conducted in October 2025. The findings indicate that the Market Day method creates contextual and meaningful numeracy learning experiences. Students actively engage in buying and selling activities that require the application of numeracy concepts such as addition, subtraction, and contextual problem solving. Moreover, students demonstrate improved numeracy understanding, learning motivation, and self-confidence in using numeracy skills. Therefore, the Market Day method can serve as an alternative learning strategy to support the enhancement of numeracy literacy in elementary schools.

Abstract

Moral education in schools often emphasizes cognitive understanding of values while overlooking students’ lived moral experiences. This study aims to examine the implementation and impact of the Secret Agent of Kindness model as an innovative approach to moral learning through secret missions of prosocial behavior in the school environment. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving students and teachers engaged in the model’s implementation. The findings indicate that the Secret Agent of Kindness model fosters students’ intrinsic motivation to perform moral actions, enhances empathy, and strengthens prosocial behavior without reliance on external rewards or supervision. Students demonstrated increased moral awareness, sincerity, and reflective thinking through secret acts of kindness conducted in authentic contexts. The discussion reveals that experiential and reflective moral practices play a crucial role in internalizing moral values. This study concludes that the Secret Agent of Kindness model offers a promising pedagogical alternative for strengthening moral education by bridging the gap between moral knowledge and real-life moral behavior in schools.

Abstract

This article examines the readiness of Education 4.0 transformation in Indonesia and Türkiye through a comparative qualitative literature review. Education 4.0 emphasizes the integration of digital technology, innovative pedagogy, and the development of 21st-century skills in response to the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with library research methods, this study analyzes national and international literature published between 2020 and 2025 to identify patterns of curriculum policy, technology integration, and teacher readiness in both countries. The findings indicate that Indonesia and Türkiye share common structural challenges, particularly related to unequal access to technological infrastructure and varying levels of teacher readiness across regions. At the same time, differences emerge in policy orientation and implementation strategies, where Indonesia places greater emphasis on curricular flexibility and pedagogical reform through the Merdeka Curriculum, while Türkiye prioritizes large-scale national technology initiatives, such as the Turkish Century Education Model, the FATİH Project, and the Education Information Network (EBA), to support digital learning. The study concludes that both countries remain in a transitional phase toward Education 4.0, and that a more integrated alignment between curriculum reform, teacher capacity development, and technology provision is essential to strengthen sustainable pedagogical transformation in developing country contexts.

Abstract

Multiplication is a fundamental topic in mathematics learning that often presents challenges for students, particularly in achieving speed and accuracy in calculations. This issue was identified among ninth-grade students at MTsN 1 Probolinggo, where learning practices were found to be less engaging and insufficient in supporting students’ conceptual understanding. To address this problem, this community service activity implemented the Jarimatika method as an innovative instructional approach to improve students’ multiplication skills. Jarimatika employs concrete and kinesthetic visualization through the use of fingers, which is suitable for the cognitive characteristics of junior secondary school students. The activity was conducted through three main stages: needs-based planning, participative training, and game-based evaluation. During the participative training stage, students actively practiced multiplication techniques using Jarimatika under guided instruction, while the game-based evaluation aimed to reinforce speed and accuracy in a positive and competitive learning atmosphere. The results demonstrated that students experienced greater ease in performing multiplication operations and showed high levels of enthusiasm and active participation throughout the learning process. Although quantitative measurements were not employed, qualitative observations indicated improvements in students’ confidence, responsiveness, and engagement in mathematics learning. These findings suggest that the Jarimatika method is effective in creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment and has strong potential to enhance students’ motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics.
