Abstract

Machining process is one of the complex processes which have numerous factors contributing towards the quality of the finished product. Milling process is one among the machining process in which quality of the finished product depends on the tool geometry, accuracy of machine tool and cutting condition. The research was done to investigate the effect of machining parameters on product surface quality in milling process. The experiments conducted on a conventional milling machine use of cutting fluid. Material AISI 1050 and HSS end mill cutting tool used for the experiments. Three cutting parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut at two-level was planned using design of experiment (DoE) methodology. The result show that the better surface quality of milling process is obtained for the minimum value of surface roughness (Ra = 1.481 μm). The Analysis of Variance inferred that the spindle speed cutting parameter has significant effect on the surface roughness (Ra).

Abstract

The durability of pavement is caused by the problem of surface drainage in every part of the highway, which may be different and requires consideration after special care depending on the location conditions. Good drainage is generally achieved by providing material gradations that are in accordance with adequate permeability with structural adequacy that depends on site conditions by taking into account the intensity of rain in the area. The purpose of this study was to study the permeability of falling head permeability (FHP) methods and the durability of the Marshall method from semi-flexible hardness using used tire rubber and natural zeolite as a substitute for asphalt and cement. The mix design of porous asphalt is started with determination of optimum asphalt proportion with open graded aggregat as spesified in Australian Asphalt Pavement Assosiation (AAPA) 2004.. The asphalt was then replaced with 3%, 4% and 5% waste tire rubber and the Marshall Test was conducted. The cement mortar with 0 %, 5 %, 10 %, 15 % and 20 % natural ziolite was injected to porous asplalt specimens. Permeability tests and durability are conditioned according to ASTM C67091a at 14 days of specimen age. The test results showed that the highest permeability value was obtained at 0.0529 cm / second and the highest durability was 91.45% in 15% of Aceh's natural zeolites. The value of durability is much higher than the required specifications of 75%.

Abstract

This study aims to do the planning of raw material inventory at optimal Tire Retreading industry with Silver Meal Heuristic methods optimally. Planning includes penentian safety stock,, reorder point and Economic Order Quantity and Total Cost of Inventory. The results were obtained 706.44 kg of safety stock, reorder point 2283.76 kg and 8356 kg economic order quantity and lead time of 5 days for a total of Rp. 4,020,778,592.6. While based on the existing condition of the total cost of raw material inventory Rp. 4,061,927,100. This shows the efficiency of Rp. 41,148,507.4 or 1.01% per year.

Abstract

The ultimate goal of biodiversity offset is to avoid net loss and preferably net gain from species composition side, habitat structure, ecosystem function, community use, and cultural values related with biodiversity. The idea of biodiversity offset has created controversy for some conservation societies because there is concern that the use of this scheme may encourage governments to continue to allow projects that have a serious impact on biodiversity as long as the project offers compensation. This scheme could also allow the company to leave significant impacts on the project area as long as it holds conservation activities elsewhere. Therefore, the application of biodiversity offsets must strictly adhere to the mitigation hierarchy that places biodiversity offsets as the last resort after all possible efforts have been made to avoid and minimize the impact of the development project and restore biodiversity in the project area

Abstract

Lecturer performance data is an important data that must be possessed by every lecturer and institution, therefore efforts are needed to ensure quality management of the university. For this reason, it is necessary to get the right algorithm to secure data. The RSA (Rivest- hamir-Adleman) algorithm is one of the public key algorithms in the field of cryptography which is popular and widely used today. The number one factor that can be used to carry out prime numbers is a long time to do the factoring. Data that is encrypted with the RSA algorithm must be changed to universal code, namely ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) or the American Standard Code for nformation exchange are the International Standard in universal letters and symbol codes. Based on the Basic Tri Dharma of Higher Education, measurement of lecturer performance needs to be carried out in accordance with their original objectives. Data can be obtained from each lecturer up to date with good data security.

Abstract

Progressive deterioration (e.g., corrosion) of the ageing bridge infrastructure is the main cause of structural deterioration and early failure of bridge especially in the marine environment. This paper presents a reliability-based approach for predicting the residual life of a bridge subjected to progressive deterioration. Specially, this study mainly focuses on developing a numerical approach for assessing the time-dependent probability of failure of a bridges. The results ofstudy show that the increase of progressive deterioration rates has a great impact on the decrease of bridge residual life. Further, the proposed realibility-based approach demonstrates the potential use for assessing probability of failure as well as predicting the residual life of bridges.

Abstract

This study describes the processing of thermoplastic polypropylene from used plastic packaging with filler of palm oilbunches as a composite. Polypropylene material is crushed and melted using xylene solvent and then mixedhomogeneously with micrometer-sized filler, then presses using a hot press at a temperature of 165oC. Methods ofphysical and chemical modification of fibers with polypropylene matrix and the addition of several additives werecarried out to improve compatibility, mechanical properties, morphology, electrical properties and biodegradability ofcomposites. Analysis of mechanical properties obtained tensile strength of 13.053 MPa, elastic modulus of 455.252MPa, impact of 3019.1 J/m2. Infra reed (FT-IR) analysis shows that the -OH functional group of fibers places a positionadjacent to the polypropylene functional group. Surface structure analysis (SEM) showed that the fiber bond strengthbetween the matrix and the analysis of thermal properties showed a high melting temperature of 488.33oC

Abstract

In the image identification process, the determination of geometric coordinate transformations must be in line with thetwo images. To identify the tested image, the size of similarity is defined by the alignment quality of these two images, which measures the similarity between the tested and the fixed image. So that to detect PCB layout, it also be determinedby matching the PCB image reference feature with the tested PCB image based on differences in the imaging conditionsresult. Ideally, a good similarity measurement has almost a zero deferent value and a larger value for different images. Therefore, the Eucledian distance algorithm is proposed in this paper to detect similarity among PCBs layout with 15training image and 30 tested images samples. Each training image has a varying reduction quality of image. From thesimulation results can be concluded that this algorithm can be used in a detecting similarity of PCB layout
