Abstract

Implementation of early childhood education during Covid-19 pandemic is a new challenge for teachers and parents. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a hypercontent module for early childhood education because the module does not only contain material in text form that can be read or viewed by students but also contains learning videos that contain direct explanations from the teachers regarding certain materials and animations that possible to increase students' interest. This hypercontent module for early childhood education research will be developed using ADDIE development model consists of 5 steps, Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The Hypercontent module is developed based on the results of studies and analysis of learning needs, after that product development is carried out in the form of a multimedia-based hypercontent module that will be validated by experts, the module is then tested by teachers and students (parents) to produce a valid Hypercontent Module for PAUD, practical or easy to use by teachers and students as well as parents who accompany students to study from home. The multimedia-based hypercontent module entitled "Aku Anak Sehat, Pencegahan Stunting pada Anak" which was developed using the ADDIE model, has met the criteria through the process and validation results by material and media experts as well as trials through assessments by teachers and students at PAUD Masjid Al-Muslimun Makassar City. As for the result, the multimedia-based hypercontent module entitled "Aku Anak Sehat, Pencegahan Stunting pada Anak" was declared valid/feasible and practical/easy to use for learning with a material validation score of 4.8 (very valid), a media validation score of 4.6 (very valid), a teacher assessment score of 4.4 (good) and a student assessment score of 4.7 (very good).

Abstract

Indonesia is a diverse country with a rich cultural heritage that influences its people's lifestyles, including parenting practices. However, it appears that modern parenting influences the bulk of parenting styles in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to investigate the practice of prenatal care up to the age of 3 in the Sundanese community of Kampung Pasir Kaler in Kuningan, West Java. An ethnographic study was employed to reveal the facts pertaining to the aforementioned emphasis. Four pregnant women and three children aged 0 to 3 years old were involved in this study. They were selected by using the purposive sampling technique. Observation, interviews, and documentation were exerted to solicit the required data. The data analysis technique used data display, data reduction and conclusions from Milles and Huberman’s interactive model of data analysis. The findings revealed that cultural based parenting was still performed in the Sundanese community of Kampung Pasir Kaler and that there was considerable cooperation among father, mother, and the community. Penance honing, silih asah, silih asih, and silih asuh are essential values in culture-based parenting that provide distinctiveness and a clearer perspective of parenting practices that exist among Sundanese people in Indonesia. This study adds ethnoparenting data for future studies, especially parenting culture in Indonesia.

Abstract

Parenting based on local wisdom has long been an exciting topic. In addition to having a diversity of values and cultures, it can also significantly impact the formation of children's character. Later this method was known as ethnoparenting. This study explores the ethnoparenting tradition of the Bugis tribe in the Karampuang indigenous community, Sinjai Regency. By using an ethnographic approach, this research described or examined information based on practical experience and values ethnoparenting, then interpreted the data obtained from a psychological perspective. The subjects of this study were classifiedbased on the age of their children, namely parents who were pregnant with a gestation period of 7-9 months, parents who had children between 6 months to 1 year, and parents who had children of 2-3 years. This study showed that the tradition of parenting in the Karampuang indigenous community has started since pregnancy, various traditional rituals are believed to have meaning and influence on the growth of the children, the Karampuang indigenous community also believes that there are taboos that should not becarried out because they are against traditional values and will harm the child's growth. Indigenous peoples of Karampuang are famous for their cosmological values , which are also internalized in parenting practices. This study also explores parenting practices from various other dimensions, such as the philosophy of human development, mythology, spirituality. In addition, this study also concludes that the division of the roles of fathers and mothers in the parenting process is practiced based on the family's sociocultural values and situational conditions. Boys will follow their father more in daily functions, while girls will follow their mother's activities more. Meanwhile, the role of the community is implemented in thephilosophy of human development that emphasizes cooperation.

Abstract

This research is based on the issues faced by parents and teachers during the pandemic that force the parents to accompany their children in learning from home. The common difficulty parents should encounter in accompanying their children learning from home during the Covid-19 pandemic is the lack of understanding possessed by them on their children lessons. It is probably due to the fact that previously, their children education was completely handed over only to school so that they did not involve nor comprehend the role they have in the practice of education at home. The current research is one of the attempts to reconstruct the connection among parent-teacher-child triangle. This “golden triangle” program development adopts, to some extent, the approach and principles of Head start model. It is expected that the development of this “golden triangle” program can emphasize the role of family as the first as well as main education institution for children, in addition to design the education program that encourages parents to take part in their children education. The study that had been conducted for three months using the collaborative action research method from Kemiss & McTaggar was thematically analyzed. It is found that there are three major themes; children education responsibility, “golden triangle” program implementation in early child education, and supporting factor. The task to educate early children is often handed over merely to the early childhood education institution that responsible not only on the academic side of the early children, but also their social capacity and development stimulus. The “golden triangle” program is implemented by encouraging the parents’ active participation and conducting the parent school where not only children who learn but also their parents. This program can only be implemented when there is a strong commitment and effective communication among parents, teachers, and children.

Abstract

Teacher's mental health has become a major issue around the world. This is a preliminary study aimed to explore stress, social support, and resilience as potential values that can predict the mental health of early childhood education (ECE) teachers. Participants in the study included 120 ECE teachers in Yogyakarta who had a minimum of 2 years working duration. The instruments utilized for data collection were General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and The Brief Resilience Scale (BRS). The four scales were distributed to 19 schools in the Yogyakarta area, both online and in person. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The study indicated that stress, social support, and resilience jointly affected mental health status by 52,7% (sig .000 < .05). From the three independent variables, resilience acted as the strongest predictor with a correlation coefficient of -.703 and a relative contribution of 44.7%. This study concluded that stress management and resilience can be developed as an intervention construct to improve teachers' mental health. Further implications of the findings of this study have been discussed in the article.
