Abstract

Academic resilience is a crucial attribute for students in health-related disciplines to adapt and thrive amid high academic and clinical demands. Objective: This study aims to analyze the level of academic resilience among final-year students across various health disciplines, identify variations in resilience levels, and explore the implications for developing more targeted academic support and mental health interventions. Method: This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a cross-sectional survey design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire adapted from a validated scale, the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-6). The study population consisted of 272 final-year undergraduate and diploma students from nine health-related study programs at a private higher education institution in Indonesia, selected through convenience sampling. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. Results: The findings indicate that the majority of respondents (84.92%) demonstrated high levels of academic resilience. Male students tended to exhibit higher mean resilience scores (38.15) and more stable distributions compared to female students (35.15). In terms of study programs, undergraduate Dentistry and diploma Midwifery recorded the highest average resilience scores, whereas undergraduate Nursing and undergraduate Pharmacy showed the lowest. Conclusion: Although most final-year students in health-related programs exhibit high academic resilience, significant variations exist across study programs and between genders.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to comparatively analyze the differences in risks, costs, and social impacts between Sharia and conventional Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Method: The research adopts a library research approach by utilizing secondary data obtained from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), academic literature, and various scholarly journals related to fintech and Islamic finance. Result: The findings indicate that conventional P2P lending operates under a fixed interest-based system, in which credit risk is fully borne by the borrower, whereas Sharia P2P lending applies profit-and-loss sharing and risk-sharing principles through contracts such as mudharabah, musyarakah, or wakalah bil ujrah. The cost structure in the Sharia system is more flexible as it does not involve elements of riba, while the conventional system imposes fixed interest rates that may place a financial burden on MSMEs. From a social perspective, P2P lending plays a significant role in expanding access to financing for MSMEs that are not yet served by formal financial institutions. Conclusion: The Sharia model is considered more equitable as it emphasizes partnership, transparency, and economic justice in accordance with Islamic values. Therefore, Sharia P2P lending functions not only as an alternative financing mechanism but also as an instrument for sustainable and socially just economic empowerment.

Abstract

This article explores the evolution of Ibn Taymiyyah’s theological thought and its influence on the rise of Salafi ideology in Indonesia. Ibn Taymiyyah is recognized as a prominent theologian who emphasized the purification of Islamic teachings by returning to the Qur’an and Sunnah. His concept of tawhid, Rububiyyah, Uluhiyyah, and Asma’ wa Sifat, became the fundamental basis for Salafi movements that reject rational interpretation and uphold the supremacy of revelation. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research and content analysis of Ibn Taymiyyah’s works as well as literature on Salafi ideology. The findings reveal that Salafi ideology has developed into several categories: Salafi Ilmi, which focuses on education and scholarly transmission; Salafi Manhaj, which emphasizes methodological approaches in da’wah; Salafi Jihadi, which advocates armed struggle; and Salafi Takfiri, which is characterized by extreme excommunication of others. The Islamic University of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud serves as a strategic institution in disseminating these ideas through education, religious outreach (da'wah), and its alumni network across various countries, including Indonesia. Thus, the connection between Ibn Taymiyyah, Salafism, and Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University reflects a strong ideological continuity in shaping contemporary religious practices focused on the purification of creed and worship.

Abstract

Objective: This study reconstructs a comprehensive philosophical theory of intellect (ʿaql) in the thought of Ibn al-Jawzī (d. 597/1201) in order to examine his distinctive articulation of moral rationalism. Method: Drawing on systematic textual analysis of his major works, Kitāb al-Adhkiyāʾ, Talbīs Iblīs, Dhamm al-hawā, al-Ṭibb al-rūḥānī, Ṣayd al-khāṭir, and Minhāj al-qāṣidīn. Result: The article demonstrates that Ibn al-Jawzī develops a coherent philosophical anthropology in which the intellect occupies an architectonic position. Within this framework, the intellect functions as the governing faculty over passion (hawā), the primary safeguard against satanic epistemological deception (talbīs), and the foundation of ethical praxis and moral self-discipline. This model of intellect-centered moral rationalism is then situated within a sustained hermeneutical dialogue with classical Sufi epistemologies that privilege the heart (qalb), as represented by al-Junayd al-Baghdādī, al-Ḥakīm al-Tirmidhī, Abū Ṭālib al-Makkī, al-Sarrāj, al-Ghazālī, and Ibn al-ʿArabī. The comparative analysis reveals fundamental epistemological divergences between Ibn al-Jawzī’s rationalist ethical framework and the experiential–intuitive orientation of classical Sufism. Conclusion: By foregrounding Ibn al-Jawzī as a systematic moral rationalist, this study contributes to contemporary debates in virtue epistemology and Islamic psychology, offering a refined conceptual lens for understanding reason, ethics, and moral formation in classical Islamic thought.

Abstract

Although the determination of the beginning of prayer times has been clearly indicated in the Qur’an and Hadith, these sources primarily provide normative and descriptive guidance without offering precise technical parameters for accurate calculation in diverse geographical contexts. This gap has led to variations in practice and the need for a more systematic approach that integrates religious texts with scientific principles. This study aims to analyze and compare methods for determining the beginning of prayer times from the perspectives of the Qur’an, Hadith, and modern science. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research is based on library research by examining classical Islamic texts, contemporary scholarly works, and scientific literature related to astronomical calculations. The findings show that the Qur’an and Hadith emphasize direct observation of natural phenomena, particularly the position of the sun and the formation of shadows, as the primary basis for determining prayer times. In contrast, the scientific approach maintains these scriptural foundations while applying systematic calculations to achieve greater accuracy and consistency. From a scientific perspective, the determination of prayer times relies not only on textual interpretation but also on astronomical and geographical factors, especially solar declination and the equation of time. This study contributes to the discourse on Islamic worship practices by demonstrating that the integration of scriptural guidance and scientific calculation is essential for ensuring accurate, practical, and contextually relevant determination of prayer times in the modern world
