Abstract

AbstractWomen have a very important role in upholding world peace and security because they have the power that is not possessed by men, namely the maternal instinct which naturally can create peace with love, care and harmony. This study aims to find out Muslim women who received world peace awards in the 21st century and analyze the points of peace education that they teach and implement. This research was a qualitative descriptive study with the content analysis of the peace speech they deliver. Based on the analysis, it can be seen that there are three Muslim women who received world nobel peace prize in the 21st century, namely Shirin Ebadi, Tawakkul Karman and Malala Yousafzai. The messages of peace that become their focus are efforts for democracy and human rights, especially the struggle for human rights and children (Shirin Ebadi), nonviolent struggle against women's security and women's human rights for full participation in peace-building work (Tawakkul Karman), struggle against the oppression of children and young people and the right of all children to get education (Malala Yousafzai).

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan aktivitas menenun bagi Perempuan Melayu yang dilihat dari dua sisi, yaitu peluang usaha dan pelestarian budaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara sebagai pengumpul data utama. Data primer diperoleh dari wawancara dengan informan yang terdiri dari perajin tenun, tokoh agama, dan tokoh masyarakat. Hasil kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peluang usaha muncul sebagai akibat dari otonomi daerah dan kebijakan Pemerintah Provinsi Riau untuk menggali berbagai khasanah lokal khas Riau. Pada saat ini sudah muncul pusat-pusat penghasil kain tenun dan juga sentra-sentra yang menjual kain tenun. Sedangkan pelestarian budaya merupakan efek dari kebijakan tersebut yang membuat para perajin tenun kembali bergairah untuk menekuninya karena memiliki nilai ekonomis. Pewarisan keterampilan menenun tidak lagi hanya terbatas pada keluarga perajin, melainkan juga sudah meluas kapada masyarakat yang meminatinya. Pemerintah mendukung dengan berbagai program dan kebijakan agar keterampilan menenun tetap bertahan dan berkembang di tengah masyarakat Melayu Riau.

Abstract

For decades, there has been a biased pattern of communication between genders in society, including among the Al-Ishlah santris (students) in pesantren (Islamic boarding school) in Cirebon - West Java, subject studied by the writers. The communication of male and female santris has unique ways. From the beginning, pesantren offers the different treatment to male and female santris, both in rules, ethics, sanctions, communication, and relationships in general. In addition, the teaching of classic kitabs (books/holy books) still contains a lot of gender biases. This study aims to identify several gender biases and stereotypes in various forms of communication between male and female santris in pesantren. This research used descriptive qualitative methods, data collection techniques using interviews and observations to santris, and data analysis techniques carried out qualitatively in the form of narrative descriptions. The results of the study show there are many gender biases and stereotypes in various forms of communication, such as: communication style, conversation initiatives, intensity of conducting conversation, intensity of interruption, dominance in conversation, intensity of making humor, eye contact, spatial distance, body language, smile, and touch.Keywords: communication, gender bias, pesantren

Abstract

Women and education as an effort to prevent radicalism are connected. If the international community tries to engage education as part of a strategy to reduce terrorism, it should be necessary to consider the content of education. One of the SDGs mandates in “equality” is the importance of women to be involved in mastering STEM. This study reveals how the challenges and opportunities for women's relationships and participation in STEM education can make it possible to prevent the emergence of radicalism. This was carried out by exploring several kinds of literature related to the level of women's participation and the usefulness of STEM education. The role of women is shown by their participation as learners, educators, and directly involved in the STEM industry as a workforce. As an educator, women's participation occupies a much better position than workforces. STEM content can be integrated with radicalism issues to be resolved in the classroom to practice critical thinking skills. Women as STEM workers face obstacles that have nothing to do with their abilities, such as stereotyping, discrimination, violence, and abuse. Religious education integrated with STEM education provides an opportunity to reduce radicalism values with women taking part in it.

Abstract

Field research with a phenomenological approach, in the District of Kabuh-Jombang. The barren rural socio-geographical setting makes tradition basics a reference and measure of norms of action. The uniqueness of this study with previous research is the process of reducing the sacredness of marriage by placing the status of Widower or Widow better than the status of an old spinster or old age. Research with a Phenomenological approach with Robert Merton's Structural-Functional analysis knife rests on deep interview techniques of 20 informants consisting of couples who experience young and divorced couples, families, and community leaders. produce conclusions that the tradition of underage marriage is a social fact, a habit that still continues to this day, constructed with noble and sacred meaning. In the social process the Nobleness of meaning is not supported by other social facts, that being a widower or widow is better than being an old woman or old woman. This puts divorce better than maintaining marriage. This pragmatic outlook is contrary to the ideal ideals of a sacred marriage. The result of a complex divorce is a negative new social fact that is neglecting the rights of children to be paid by their parents. This negative social fact is due to the dysfunctional social control and social structure of the process of adaptation to change.

Abstract

Anak adalah anugerah Tuhan Yang Maha Esa yang harus dilindungi dan dipenuhi hak-hak dasarnya seperi hak kelangsungan hidup, hak mendapatkan perlindungan, hak untuk tumbuh berkembang dan hak untuk berpartisipasi. Oleh karena itu, berbagai instrumen hukum telah mengatur dalam melindungi hak-hak anak. Perlindungan dasar terhadap hak-hak anak seharusnya tidak dapat dikurangi dalam kondisi apapun termasuk karena berbagai faktor nonhukum yang dapat mereduksi hak anak tersebut. Namun demikian, dalam perkara penetapan dispensasi kawin di bawah umur No.10/Pdt.P/2017/PA.Bjn pertimbangan hakimnya masih didominasi oleh faktor-faktor nonhukum seperti kondisi pekerjaan, kondisi psikologis dan kondisi ekonomi orang tuanya daripada mempertimbangkan hak-hak dasar anak. Ironisnya adalah pertimbangan hakim tersebut tidak dilakukan melalui sistem pembuktian yang ilmiah sehingga lebih mendekati pada kesimpulan asumtif. Selain itu, analisis perspektif fikih dan filsafat hukum yang digunakan oleh hakim dalam memutus perkara tersebut tidak sesuai dengan konteks perkara yang ditanganinya sehingga tujuan hukum yaitu keadilan, kepastian dan kemanfaatan tidak terpenuhi. Untuk menjawab masalah ini, akan digunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan yuridis-normatif. Sebagai kesimpulan, pertimbangan hakim dalam penetapan perkara tersebut seharusnya dapat mengedepankan hak-hak dasar anak yang harus dilindungi berdasarkan dengan analisis fikih dan filsafat hukum yang tepat daripada faktor-faktor nonhukum yang diprioritaskan.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengupas ide-ide tentang relasi suami-istri dalam rumah tangga yang dipaparkan oleh para khatib nikah di Surabaya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan model kualitatif bertumpu pada data primer berupa pernyataan verbal para khatib dalam moment akad nikah. Jumlah khatib sebagai partisipan penelitian ini ditentukan berdasarkan penetapan lokasi khutbah nikah, yaitu di dua masjid utama di Surabaya, Masjid Al-Akbar dan Masjid Al-Falah yang keseluruhannya berjumlah 12 orang. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi khutbah, observasi, dan wawancara. Data yang terhimpun dianalisis menggunakan teknik fenomenologis. Temuan riset adalah bahwa para khatib nikah di Surabaya masih banyak yang mengeksplikasi pesan relasi suami-istri dalam kategori; a) bias gender sebanyak 42%; b) ambigu gender, sebanyak 25%, yaitu menyatakan relasi timbal-balik, namun memosisikan istri sebagai tangan kanan suami; c) netral gender yang mencapai sejumlah 8%; d) keadilan dan kesetaraan gender, yaitu 25% dengan kreteria memosisikan suami-istri secara equal. Perbedaan wawasan gender para khatib tersebut disebabkan oleh perbedaan latar belakang sosio-kultural. Khatib yang sudah berwawasan equal berlatar belakang sebagai dosen dan pejabat kementerian agama. Sedangkan yang masih bias berlatar belakang sebagai penceramah dan belum pernah mengikuti pendalaman tentang konsep gender.
