Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of friendship quality on the mental health of overseas students through a qualitative approach. Migrant students often face significant emotional and social challenges due to separation from family and friends. Good friendship quality is expected to provide important emotional support in coping with stress and loneliness. This study involved in-depth interviews with 10 overseas students from various universities in Indonesia, who were purposively selected to obtain diverse perspectives. The data obtained was analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and emerging themes related to friendship experiences and their impact on mental health. The results showed that overseas students who have quality friendships tend to feel more connected, have better emotional support, and experience lower levels of anxiety. In addition, factors such as trust, open communication, and common interests are important elements in building friendship quality. This study suggests that overseas students should be active in building positive social relationships and educational institutions should provide programs that support social interaction. The findings are expected to provide insights for students, educators, and policy makers in an effort to improve the mental health of overseas students.

Abstract

Learning concentration is an important factor in educational success. However, students in grades 5-6 of SD Negeri Kotalama 6 Malang City have difficulty concentrating due to internal (motivation) and external (noise) factors. The main objective of this research is to investigate how brain exercises can impact the focus of students during their learning. The research employed a quasi-experimental method known as One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. A specific group of 49 students was chosen intentionally for the study. The students' level of concentration was assessed using the Army Alpha Test both before and after they participated in brain exercises for five days, with each session lasting for 10 minutes. The data collected was analysed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The findings revealed a notable improvement in the students' learning concentration, with a statistically significant increase (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Before the treatment, the majority of students had low concentration, while after the intervention, most showed moderate to high concentration. The conclusion of this study is that brain exercises are effective in improving students' learning concentration and are recommended to be implemented routinely in schools.

Abstract

Zinc is one of the macronutrients associated with emotional, cognitive, and behavioral processes. Zinc deficiency is a serum zinc concentration < 70 μg/dl. Zinc deficiency is associated with neurosensory disorders, and is also closely associated with mood disorders such as depression. Mood disorders and psychosis consist of depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Several existing studies suggest that nutritional factors, especially the role of micronutrients such as zinc, may contribute to the pathophysiology and management of mood and psychotic disorders. To determine the effect of zinc administration on mood disorders and psychosis. This study used a systematic literature review method using three main electronic databases including Pubmed, ScienceDirect, and Researchgate. From the results of the literature search, 11 clinical articles and studies were obtained, published from 2015 to 2025. Of the eleven articles used in the literature review, nine of them showed a significant relationship between zinc and mood and psychotic disorders. There is a positive relationship between zinc supplementation, serum zinc levels, and mood disorders and psychotics.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the dynamics of psychological well-being in employees of the divorce licensing section at BKPSDM Sragen. This research identifies factors that influence the psychological well-being of employees in dealing with sensitive tasks. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach.  Data were collected through in-depth interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The informants involved were four employees. The results show that psychological well-being is influenced by individual factors such as self-acceptance and personal growth, as well as external factors such as positive relationships and life goals. This research recommends developing better organisational support to improve employees' psychological well-being.

Abstract

Self-injury is a non-suicidal self-harm disorder that seems to be largely maintained by negative reinforcement, for example that the behavior is reported to rapidly reduce negative emotions and unpleasant emotional arousal. The self-injury behavior is carried out with the aim of overcoming it with trauma-related symptoms such as anger and/or disgust directed at oneself, so that the individual feels positive feelings or feels better. The method used to handle these problems is to use self-talk therapy, which is a form of intrapersonal communication, meaning that communication is carried out by the individual to himself, either consciously or unconsciously. The subjects in this study consisted of students aged 12-15 years, consisting of 13-15 children. The implementation stage of self-talk therapy consists of four sessions, session I consists of pre-test, psychoeducation and the initial understanding stage. Session II is an in-depth session on self-talk, students are divided into two groups with lighter and heavier problems. Sessions III and IV are sessions on understanding how to do negative to positive self-talk and evaluation. As a result of this activity, the student's self-injury behavior or barcode is reduced or never done again. It can be concluded that the average teenager is self-injury because he does not understand the impact, with self-talk therapy students are more able to control themselves and begin to be able to distinguish negative thoughts and understand how to direct positive thoughts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide insight into the combination of classical guidance and group counseling in shaping resilient adolescents who are free from delinquency. This research employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used is a literature study, where various books, notes, and research reports relevant to the topic serve as the theoretical foundation. The findings indicate that classical guidance and group counseling are effective in enhancing understanding and fostering strong character development in adolescents, enabling them to avoid deviant behavior. The combination of these two services provides both knowledge and interactive experiences related to delinquency, allowing students to develop better social skills and self-control. The success of this strategy depends on the active role of school counselors, as well as support from schools, families, and the community.
