Abstract

Hypoglossal nerve stimulation (HNS) has emerged as a promising intervention for patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who are non-adherent or intolerant to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). This study presents a novel, integrative meta-analysis combining swarm intelligence, deep reinforcement learning, and graph neural network (GNN) architectures to investigate the cognitive and mental health outcomes associated with HNS across diverse adult populations. A total of 1,418 patients from nine high-quality studies— including RCTs, prospective registries, and observational cohorts—were included. Cognitive outcomes were measured using validated scales such as MoCA, PVT, and DSST, while mental health changes were assessed via PHQ-9, GAD-7, and PHQ-ADS. Our findings show that patients undergoing HNS therapy demonstrated a mean reduction in PHQ-9 scores of –2.66, indicating meaningful improvements in depressive symptoms. In particular, non-adherent patients had significantly higher anxiety scores (GAD-7: 8.27 vs. 3.90, p = 0.049) and depression scores (PHQ-ADS: 19.20 vs. 10.05, p = 0.035), reinforcing the importance of long- term adherence. Swarm-optimized feature selection identified Follow-up Duration, HNS Type, and Risk of Bias as dominant predictors of mental health outcomes. GNN-based modeling further captured inter-study relational structures with high predictive reliability (training loss < 0.02 at epoch 200). These results establish a robust data-driven framework to support the use of HNS in improving mental health and cognitive domains among OSA patients, while also demonstrating the analytic power of bio-AI hybrid modeling for personalized therapeutic insights.

Abstract

This paper reports a case study of Harmony Restoration Therapy in Management of a 28 year old male Patient with Substance induced psychosis. This Therapy developed by Ebigbo (1995) is an Africa-culture oriented therapy. It treats abnormal behaviour by restoring the equilibrium in human life and living using holistic as well as eclectic approaches. The theory of Harmony Restoration Therapy perceives man as a component of three entities, namely: Endo, Meso and Exo cosmos. There was a total of eight harmony restoration-based therapy sessions with emphases on psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, family therapy and motivational interviews following referal of the Patient to the psychology unit. A six months follow-up revealed that Robinson has fully recovered without any episode of relapse. The study recommends that services of Clinical Psychologist should be employed in all clinical behaviours, especially when prognosis with pharmacotherapy is poor.

Abstract

This research examines the communication style employed by @halodoc.id on the TikTok platform specifically regarding hair health education content. The study analyzes how this healthcare information provider adapts medical knowledge into accessible, engaging short-form videos while maintaining accuracy. Through content analysis of @halodoc.id's hair health-related videos, the research identifies key communication strategies including the use of visual demonstrations, simplified medical terminology, expert testimonials, and interactive elements that encourage viewer engagement. The findings suggest that @halodoc.id effectively balances educational substance with entertainment value, employing a conversational tone and culturally relevant examples to enhance audience comprehension and retention of hair health information. This approach has implications for health communication in digital spaces, demonstrating how medical content can be successfully adapted for social media platforms without compromising informational integrity.

Abstract

Students living in university dormitories often experience academic and social adjustment demands that may increase psychological vulnerability, particularly in the form of rumination. Persistent rumination can negatively affect emotional regulation, stress management, and overall psychological well-being. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) has been recognized as an intervention that helps individuals develop present-moment awareness and reduce maladaptive repetitive thinking patterns. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of MBCT in reducing rumination levels among senior residents at the dormitory of Sumbawa University of Technology. The research employed a quasi-experimental design using a pretest–posttest control group model involving 18 senior residents divided into an experimental group (n = 10) and a control group (n = 8). The experimental group received MBCT intervention, while the control group received no treatment. Rumination levels were measured before and after the intervention using a standardized rumination scale. Descriptive statistical analysis indicated that the experimental group experienced a more consistent decrease in rumination scores compared to the control group. Furthermore, the Independent Samples t-Test revealed a significant difference between posttest scores of the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05), suggesting that the observed changes were associated with the intervention. These findings indicate that MBCT has significant potential as an effective psychological intervention to reduce rumination and assist students in managing psychological pressure within academically demanding environments.

Abstract

Final-year university students frequently experience intense academic pressure arising from thesis completion, time constraints, and limited institutional support, which may negatively affect their psychological well-being academic performance. Academic resilience plays a crucial role in enabling students to adapt to these challenges and prepare for professional life. This study aims to explore the lived experiences of final-year students in dealing with academic pressure and to identify coping strategies that contribute to the development of academic resilience as a foundation for superior human capital. This research employed a qualitative narrative approach involving one final-year student selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structure online interviews lasting 15-30 minutes and analysed using narrative thematic analysis, including transcription, repeated reading, and inductive theme development. Data credibility was ensured through member checking and triangulation. The findings indicate that the participant experienced significant academic pressure related to workload, time management, lecturer expectations, and limited internship opportunities. To cope with these challenges, the participant applied adaptive strategies such as positive distraction, peer support, and internalization of academic responsibility. These strategies strengthen self-discipline, persistence, and emotional regulation. The study demonstrates that academic resilience is essential in helping final-year students manage academic stress and develop professional readiness. By fostering adaptive coping strategies, students can enhance their autonomy, consistency, and work ethics. Therefore, higher education institutions are encouraged to strengthen academic support systems and counselling service to promote student resilience and sustainable human capital development.
