Abstract

Ship resistance is very importance to learn as we need to calculate the main power of the ship to reach the defined speed. In fact ship resistance has several components, which one and each other make interaction and mechanism in the emerging of ship resistance. This paper will focus on the explanation of the component of ship resistance in the case of high speed vessel.

Abstract

Condition of Indonesian rivers, geographically, is sharp, narrow, and shallow shape with many curves and also high water current with big differences in water tidal. Moreover, there are hard sedimentation in estuary caused big affect to vessel entering harbour. With great potential on LPG carrier passing through river, required limited draft, length and capacity of vessel. An Advanced container technology, also design to carry liquid (ISO-TANK), may distribute LPG through the river only by conventional container carrier. Self Propulsion Barge is an alternative of ISO-TANK carrier with small draft and big capacity.

Abstract

The remote control (RC) model testing of several configurations of Wing In Surface Effect craft had been beginning from design analysis, technical drawing, aerodynamics wind tunnel, hydrodynamic and RC model test. The mathematical model of Wing In Surface craft is introduced to solve the dynamics problem during takeoff, cruise and landing maneuvres. The theoretical background of hydrodynamic on hull during ground roll calculated by Savitsky method. And the aerodynamic parameters are calculated by Vortex Lattice Method (VLM)5 and DATCOM6 software. The WiSE-craft model flown from lower altitude on the sea level within the speed, V at lower altitude. The wing configurations and step positions of RC models are tested in Jatiluhur to known the dynamic characteristics. One of them is the zig zag manuvre data that recorded by GPS.

Abstract

Wing in Surface Effect (WiSE) craft or winged ship is a peripatetic transportation floating to surface by exploiting dynamic cushion because surface effect influence and form of the means wing. This craft adopted high speed planning hull for its fuselage hullform design, the lateral and longitudinal instability always occurs during planing mode operations. In this paper the study and investigate both theoretical and experimentals of longitudinal dynamic instability done, especially the porpoising fenomena of the high speed craft in the water territory. Porpoising is the effect as a self-sustained coupled motion of pitching and heaving.

Abstract

Subsurface geological investigation has been carried out in Pulau Laut Strai, Kotabaru Distric South Kalimantan by using seismic reflection and gravity corer methods. The aim of this suvei are identified subsurface geological features ie : litology, struktur geology and sea floor litology. The bathymetric map shows that the Suwangi Island and surrounding area have shallow water and simple geological structures. Sea floor sediment covered by sand (40%), silt (35%), gravels (15%) and silt (10%). The acoustic basement in Tanjung Ajun (first location) area shows in between 4 to 18 meters depth, while in the west and east of Suwangi Island (second location) in between 2 to 20 meters depth.

Abstract

Airport is the point of interchange between people or cargo to transfer from air transportation system to other system of transport such as land and water transportation system. Airport is also a facility for supporting fast and long distance transportation such as inter-cities or inter-island transportation system. Currently many Kabupaten/Kota in Indonesia eager to improve their existing airport since the era of otonomi daerah started, to generate and accelerate regional development. Consequently the airport improvement should include not only landside but also the airside facilities such as runway, taxiway and apron.Runway, taxiway and apron pavement structure are sometime designed in various methods. One method that is recently implemented in Indonesia is the United Stage of American Practice method, recommended by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This analysis shows the strategy to develop the airside facilities and to design the runway, taxiway and apron pavement structure using that method. The development plan of DR. F.L. Tobing, Sibolga airport in Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah, North Sumatera Province will be used as the case study. There are three phases in this development plan to determine the airside facilities. The aircraft to be used in the future are F-28 in phase I (2003-2012), F-100 in phase II (2012-2022) and B-737 in Ultimate Phase (After 2022).

Abstract

Unsignalize intersection is very effective because it has less average delay compare to signalize intersection. But when the traffic volume getting higher the capacity of unsignalize intersection may not be able to maintain a proper intersection performance. Several alternatives improvement should be analyzed to overcome the unsignalize intersection problem. If the improvement alternatives fail then the unsignalize intersection should be changed as a signalize one. This condition will be implemented at 4 legs intersection between jalan Sultan Hamengkubuwono 9 and Jalan Cakung Cilincing Raya. Kaji software was implemented to do this intersection evaluation.
