Abstract

Adolescence is a developmental stage characterized by vulnerability to issues related to relationships, sexuality, and reproductive health, particularly when sexual literacy is limited. This study aimed to develop and implement a healthy sexuality education program based on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The study involved 33 senior high school students aged 15–18 years who were actively engaged in the processes of problem identification, planning, implementation, and program evaluation. The intervention was delivered through an interactive learning medium, the Card of Sex Education (CASED), using reflective group discussions. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a pre-test and post-test design developed in accordance with UNESCO guidelines. The results indicated a significant increase in participants’ knowledge after the intervention (Z = −3.662; p < 0.001) with a strong effect size. These findings suggest that CSE-based sexuality education combined with a participatory approach is effective in enhancing adolescents’ sexual literacy and life skills.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the satirical meaning of Jotham's parable (Judges 9:7–15) through a historical interpretation approach in the context of Abimelech's leadership. The method used is qualitative with a literature review (biblical exegesis), integrating historical-critical and thematic analysis of the text and related literature. The results show that Jotham's parable is a form of socio-political criticism conveyed symbolically through the fable of the trees. The olive, fig, and vine trees symbolize ideal, productive leadership oriented toward the welfare of the community, while the thornbush represents Abimelech's selfish, unproductive, and destructive leadership. The satire in the text is conveyed indirectly through figurative language, irony, and repetitive structures that reinforce its rhetorical message. In a historical context, this parable emerged as a response to Abimelech's power, which was obtained through violence and manipulation, thus lacking moral and theological legitimacy. These findings emphasize that leadership not rooted in divine values and social responsibility will lead to destruction. Thus, the parable of Jotham not only has historical significance, but also theological relevance as a critique of deviant leadership and as a basis for reflection for contemporary Christian leadership.

Abstract

21st-century education demands a transformation in the development of teaching materials so that they are not merely administrative documents, but effective pedagogical strategies. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to provide guidance to teachers at SDI Al Ishlah Tulungagung in developing teaching materials based on the deep learning approach using Canva AI technology. The implementation of the PkM involved 20 teachers and was carried out through four main stages: preparation, implementation, programme evaluation, and reporting, all of which were conducted using a participatory approach. The results of the activity demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills, with the average teacher understanding score rising from 74.4% in the pre-test to 80.3% in the post-test. The teachers successfully applied Canva AI to design deep learning teaching materials, particularly those addressing crucial themes such as education and the handling of bullying within the school environment. This activity not only enhanced educators’ digital literacy but also strengthened their capacity to design meaningful, problem-solving-based learning environments.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has increased gadget usage among elementary school children, including those in Haruyan Dayak Village. Uncontrolled gadget use may negatively affect children’s social development, behavior, physical health, and emotional well-being. This activity aims to improve students’ understanding of wise gadget use through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The method includes problem identification, action planning, implementation of socialization activities, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The subjects were 30 students from grades 1 to 6 at SDN Haruyan Dayak. The results indicate that most students frequently use gadgets, primarily for entertainment such as social media, with limited understanding of healthy usage. The interactive socialization conducted through presentations, educational videos, and discussions successfully improved students’ understanding of the positive and negative impacts of gadgets, the importance of limiting screen time, and the productive use of gadgets. Additionally, initial behavioral changes were observed, such as reduced gadget use during class hours and increased awareness of the negative effects of excessive use. However, students’ understanding is not yet evenly distributed, indicating the need for continuous guidance from parents and teachers.

Abstract

In Aimoli Village, North West Alor District, Alor Regency, there is a community-managed MSME called Ma Netha. This is a local production unit that develops various herbal products such as candlenut oil, virgin coconut oil (VCO), and red ginger powder. These products are produced using abundant local raw materials and modernized traditional processing techniques. This study aims to analyze the herbal product development strategy implemented by Ma Netha and identify factors that support product competitiveness at the local level. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that product innovation, raw material quality, and hygienic production processes are key factors in increasing product sales value. Furthermore, local community support, raw material availability, and production skills strengthen Ma Netha's position as a competitive herbal producer. This study confirms that developing herbal products based on regional potential can be an effective strategy for increasing the economic independence of rural communities.

Abstract

This community service activity was a response to the coercion of students and civil society groups in August-September 2025, known as Black September. Protests in various cities, including the GMNI demonstration in front of the Indonesian Parliament Building on September 1, 2025, faced excessive force from the authorities, mass arrests, and alleged human rights violations. The activity took the form of a panel discussion, which began with a screening of the documentary Dirty Vote (2024) by Dandhy Dwi Laksono, analyzed by three constitutional law experts, Zainal Arifin Mochtar, Bivitri Susanti, and Feri Amsari. The screening was followed by a presentation on the concept of authoritarianism and impunity for perpetrators of state violence against civilians. The participatory discussion involved cadres from GMNI Jember and 27 members of the general public, to reflect on the current repressive apparatus response. A Paulo Freire based conscientization approach was used to raise participants critical awareness in advocating for victims of civil violence and the criminalization of torture. The results of the activities showed an increase in understanding and commitment to advocacy, thus strengthening GMNI's role as an organization that does not want its presence in civil society circles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of the agricultural sector and Tuti Hot Spring tourism as leading sectors that can support economic development in Air Mancur Village. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through direct field observations, in-depth interviews with local residents and village authorities, and documentation reviews. The findings indicate that agriculture remains the primary livelihood source for the community, supported by key commodities such as maize, upland rice, coconuts, cassava, and various horticultural products that hold significant economic value for both local consumption and nearby markets. Meanwhile, Tuti Hot Spring represents a unique natural attraction characterized by its geothermal features, offering considerable potential to be developed into a prominent tourism destination. However, tourism development faces several challenges, including limited access infrastructure, inadequate supporting facilities, low promotion efforts, and insufficient community involvement in destination management. The study concludes that optimizing these two sectors requires an integrated strategy that includes capacity building for local communities, strengthening village institutions, improving basic infrastructure, and promoting tourism based on local potential and sustainability principles. With appropriate planning and implementation, the agricultural sector and Tuti Hot Spring tourism can become key drivers of sustainable village development.
