Abstract

The meaning of Songkok Recca' as a cultural identity. This study aims to determine how the perception of the people of Bone Regency regarding the meaning of Songkok Recca' so that it becomes the characteristics, characteristics, and cultural identity of Bone Regency. This type of research is using qualitative research with qualitative approach research, namely phenomenology. The source of this research data is the community Bone Regency, which is classified specifically from government circles in this case the General Secretary of the Bone Regency Culture Service, community leaders, traditional stakeholders, cultural experts, Songkok Recca' craftsmen, and youth leaders. The method used in digging up information and looking for data is by means of observation, interviews, and documentation of informants. Meanwhile, data processing and data analysis techniques were carried out through four stages, namely: data collection stage, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.

Abstract

The implication of this research is that movie lovers on the youtube site, the film Titisan Suci on the Tarbiah Sentap youtube channel is recommended by researchers to film lovers because there is interesting packaging and content of Da'wah messages that are suggested to be noticed by movie lovers on the youtube site. In answering these problems, the authors use qualitative research methods using the mass media approach and Da'wah media, the data sources of this research are primary and secondary data. The method of data collection is carried out through the stages of observation (observation), documentation, and library research (library research). Then the data analysis method is carried out by analyzing using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory in the form of connotation, denotation, and myth meaning. The results of this study are 1) The packaging of Da'wah messages in the sacred incarnation film consists of Da'wah aspects, namely faith, sharia, and morals. 2) There is a meaning of the message of Da'wah from the aspect of aqidah, namely surrendering to Allah, and only to Allah, humans ask for forgiveness, from the Sharia aspect, namely establishing prayers, and reading the holy verses of the Koran while from the aspect of Akhlaq it describes Akhlaq to oneself, fellow humans, all His creatures and to Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study discusses the marketing communication strategy of the Dark Art Entertainment magic community in attracting clients and finding out the obstacles in carrying out marketing communication strategies. The results of this study indicate that the marketing communication strategy of the Dark Art Entertainment magic community is facing competition is carried out in 3 stages, namely strategic planning, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation. The planning stage of the marketing communication strategy carried out by the Dark Art Entertainment magic community is positioning. The second stage is the implementation of the marketing communication strategy of the Dark Art Entertainment magic community carrying out public relations activities, participating in community activities, social media marketing, street magic, the mouth of the mouth. The evaluation stage, the evaluation stage is carried out by Bolu ta' to see the results of the planning and implementation of the marketing communication strategy carried out by Bolu ta' and to be taken into consideration in fixing the marketing communication process carried out.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) to find out the structure of women's news stories in the 2019 presidential election constellation at Kompas.com which includes macro, superstructure, and microstructures, and 2) women's discourse in the 2019 presidential election constellation on Kompas.com Media. . The results of this study indicate that the topic or theme raised has not yet raised women as parties who have power like men in politics. In addition, there are many popular themes that place women as figures who seem only interested in good looks or men's physique. The superstructure or framework of a text also still shows emphasis and prioritizes statements that show the power of men over women. Meanwhile, the microstructure found that there are various languages used to refer to women, namely mothers, mothers, and mothers, each of which contains a bias towards social class and seems to limit the role of women. Women in the constellation of the 2019 presidential election are still being discoursed as a male-dominated party. Politics is still identified with aggressiveness which is generally attached to the masculine image. So that women's support groups are still vulnerable to bad stereotypes in society.

Abstract

This study aims to see the process and meaning contained in the mappasikarawa tradition which is carried out in a Bugis traditional wedding in Bontonyeleng Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency. The focus of the research is the process and meaning of the messages contained in the mappasikarawa tradition. The results of the study indicate that the stages in the process of implementing mappasikarawa have meaning in each of the symbols used. Examination of the preparation stage, namely the necessary equipment such as air that ends in purity and betel leaf near siri' in Bugis language which means shame, the core implementation stage of the activity, begins at pappasi karawa the groom for the bride's body parts The first to be touched is the ring finger, which has a meaning (appaccicingeng) which means something valuable, always creates wealth and prosperity, then the middle finger touches (datu) which means something that is prioritized, the thumb is always close, which is filled (increased) ) weight) as a determinant of the success of a husband to make his wife happy, the base of the arm (pabbossoreng) which means mutually reinforcing one another, which in turn has a relationship that has the meaning of bitter sweetness of life that can feel and relate together and the last one has the meaning of always remembering one another. each other to always be loyal to the world and the hereafter, then the final stage saian, which indicates the procession has been completed. People think that the first touch is the most important determinant of the happiness of husband and wife after marriage. Abstract

The study was titled political memes as a means of social criticism on Facebook. The purpose of this research is to find out the form of political meme submission as a means of social criticism of the 100-day program of Jokowi-Ma'uf's period II government in political memes on Facebook media. Whether political communication on social media in the future can be an input for the improvement of the political system in the future or not. This research is specifically at the reading of signs of meme posts uploaded on Facebook media, especially on posts related to the 100-day policy of Jokowi-Ma'ruf government period II starting after the inauguration, namely on October 20, 2019, to January 28, 2020, which is then described descriptively using a qualitative approach. Primary data comes from direct observations of meme posts uploaded on Facebook media. The data was then dissected using Roland Barthes' mark reading theory. The results of this research form a representation of the ideology or myth that the policies that Jokowi took in some ways are full of doubts and considered his policies cause a lot of controversy among the public, as well as public trust displayed in political memes, showing the low public confidence, especially the netizens about the ability of the government to run the system as well as produce policies that welfare of the people. The implications in this research are expected to contribute to the government and society in interpreting and understanding political communication activities on social media and providing awareness to the public to be more critical and not easily fooled by symbols and negative issues.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Photo News About the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945, by Alex Mendur and Frans Mendur (Semiotic Analysis Contemporary Culture, Arthur Asa Berger's Theory) ". This study aims to find out what the meaning is contained in the photojournalism of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945 with a semiotic theory approach Arthur Asa Berger and to find out what cultural values are there in three photojournalism on the independence photo of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945, as well to find out how the photojournalism of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia gives an impact or influence on the history of the nation's development theory used is the semiotic analysis of Arthur Asa Berger, namely how The signs that work or how signs are employed This study uses a descriptive-interpretive approach with the type of qualitative research. The object of this research is photojournalism about "Mendur Independence". The process of the Republic of Indonesia data collection was carried out in 1945 with Alex Mendur's technical works of literature and references, interviews, and documentation studies. Data were analyzed using techniques photo composition technique / ELDFAT method and photo-taking angle. The results of this study indicate that journalistic photos are about "The independence of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945, by Alex Mendur and Frans Snoring. Namely, photo 1 reading of the text of the Proclamation of Indonesian independence by. Soekarno, photo 2 of the raising of the Red and White Flag by Latief Hendraningrat assisted by S. Suhud and Sk Trinurti, and photo 3 of the atmosphere of the community ceremony watching the raising of the Red and White Flag. And there are cultural values in the three photos, namely, the value of power, the value of solidarity, and the value of art, as well as the three photos. very have an impact or influence on Indonesian independence in the present era.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the representation of the wise meaning found in the character Zainuddin in the film "Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck". The focus of the research on the meaning of wisdom on the character Zainuddin in the film "Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck". This research is an analysis of media texts using the semiotic analysis model of Roland Barthes. Data collection techniques in this study use documentation, observation, and library research. The data analysis technique used is that data in the form of signs including narrative and visuals will be analyzed using the semiotic concept of Roland Barthes, namely denotation or understanding of what is in the image and the connotation or meaning behind the image. The results show that the meaning of wisdom is represented by the character Zainuddin both in language and iconic among them; (1) Zainuddin maintains a polite attitude and does not let out his anger. (2) Zainuddin maintains the meaning of true love by proposing to Hayati without disclosing the many possessions that he has. (3) connecting the ties that were previously cut off. (4) The sincerity of a Zainuddin to forgive and forget all the bad treatment Asiz and Hayati had on him. (5) Zainuddin's attitude of giving them a lift and freedom. (6) Zainuddin's wise sentence "Your fall is not the beginning of your sorrow but the beginning of your resurrection, never let sadness and sorrow enter you" as a life lesson. Research implications (1) This research is conducted so that the public understands the wisdom shown by Zainuddin in the film and can apply this wise attitude in everyday life. (2) When watching a film, the audience should not be passive so that they can be more critical in accepting the message the film wants to convey. (3) This research is expected to be a reference for future researchers on semiotic analysis and about the world of film.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the construction of the news on the murder case of Jamal Khashoggi in the October 2018 edition by BBC News Indonesia media, through Robert N Entman’s framing analysis model approach. This research was a descriptive qualitative analysis of media text, used the Robert N Entman framing analysis model. The data collecting techniques in this research used documentation, observation, and literature review. The data analysis technique was carried out in four stages of Robert N Entman's framing analysis, namely, define the problem, diagnose causes, moral evaluation, and recommendation. The results of this study showed that BBC News Indonesia highlighted the case of Jamal Khashoggi‘s premeditated murder by accusing the Saudi Arabian government as the causing problem actor, the inconsistent statements of the Saudi Arabian government appeared international criticism and urged to explain openly and factually related to the murder case of Jamal Khashoggi The implication of this research it can contribute for enriching media research knowledge, especially which regard to framing research. In addition, this research can be useful for the general public to be more active and selective in choosing the news to read, and specifically for the news media so that they can produce the worth of reading news and not only as reading material but also as a lesson for the readers.

Abstract

The issue related to journalist violence is seen by Makassar Terkini (terkini.id) as an act of lawlessness. Discriminatory treatment against journalists often occurs but has not received good handling from the authorities so that there is no deterrent effect for the perpetrators. Media Makassar Terkini (Terkini.id) in framing the news regarding the case of journalist violence that befell three journalists in the city of Makassar at the time of covering the RKUHP rejection action in front of the South Sulawesi DPRD office showed the side of the media in resolving cases which were deemed not fulfilling the portion of justice for victims who became exclusion of the malignancy of the police. This research is expected to provide benefits to the next generation and add insight into framing analysis, especially in the latest online media Makassar.
