Abstract

The main problems in this study are 1) How the public's acceptance of covid-19 news by Batara pos media in Jalajja village, Burau district, East Luwu regency. 2) What is the attitude of the community towards covid-19 news from Batara pos media in Jalajja village? The type of research carried out in this study is a type of qualitative description field research, while the climbing used in this study is to use a theoretical approach to the reception and the attitude of the data source used is primary data, namely the results of interviews conducted in Jalajja village, while secondary data are sources in the form of books, journals, and theses. The data collection methods carried out are interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study show that: 1) The meaning of public information on covid-19 news by Batara pos media in Jalajja village, Burau district, East Luwu regency, The dominant position, relatively the same, namely: receiving information as a whole and starting to act. The position of negotiations, receiving the information but continuing to carry out their activities as usual because they understand the obligation to continue to comply with health protocols 2) The attitude of the community in responding to the news of covid-19 partly shows a positive attitude, namely not panicking when receiving the information and continuing to carry out activities as usual by applying health protocols. Other informants showed negative attitudes, namely, excessive panic and not controlling themselves so that it could harm people around them. A positive attitude shows a positive side and an ordinary expression and continues to carry out its activities as usual because of an obligation that needs to be carried out, a negative attitude shows a negative expression, that is, an excessive attitude by shutting yourself at home.

Abstract

This type of research uses a qualitative approach, with a reception analysis method, with Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding model. Meanwhile, the informants in this study were students majoring in journalism at UIN Alauddin Makassar, who watched from the beginning to the end of the drama The World of The Married Couple. Then explain their interpretation through in-depth interviews, and get reception from all the informants. The results found from this study indicate that the receptions of journalistic students towards the Korean Drama The World of The Married Couple are almost the same. According to the knowledge of each respondent who has been interviewed, their understanding and meaning show that a strong message in this drama is that Sun Woo is cast as a strong and independent woman. In the three positions the dominant hegemony, negotiation and opposition. Respondents gave their affirmation, from the three sets of Stuart Hall's theory above, several main points can be drawn, namely, negative stereotypes, women's resistance, women as victims of infidelity, women's independence, recognition of negative attitudes made by men with imagination related to sexual fantasies. In the decoding process, researchers have described the five informants based on Stuart Hall's theory, namely the dominant hegemonic position. Of the five informants who have been interviewed in positions of dominant hegemony, they received a message in this drama that women who are hurt (cheated on) will not always be weak. The social discrimination that women are always under the shade of men has been proven by Sun Woo's character, the stereotype about weak women is not true.

Abstract

This study examines the illustrations in Tempo newspaper September 17, 2021 edition, September 18 2021 edition, September 20 2021 edition, and September 30 2021 edition. This study aims to determine the message contained in an illustration which is generally used as an alternative to convey messages and attract attention. The reader uses the semiotic analysis theory from Roland Barthes which divides it into three stages in interpreting a sign, namely denotation, connotation, and myth. The meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth is interpreted by researchers based on sight, observation, knowledge, and others. The freedom for researchers to express and interpret the meaning of a photo is a feature and theory of semiotics. The results of the study show that the four illustrations serve as a critique of Jokowi's response to the case of the dismissal of 56 KPK members which was delivered in satire. The illustration illustrates Jokowi's response to the decision to dismiss dozens of members who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK) until the day of dismissal. The overall meaning of the four illustrations is that Jokowi as head of government is required to cancel the dismissal of 56 KPK members who did not pass the TWK because in practice there are many irregularities to discrimination. In the end, Jokowi gave a solution by offering the dismissed members to join the National Police Chief. The representation of Joko Widodo's figure based on the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth that has been classified by researchers sees that Joko Widodo is described as inconsistent and more confused in making decisions about KPK members who will be fired.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the Marketing Communication Strategy for Bumi As Syifa Daya Housing in Makassar City. The main topic of discussion is how the marketing communication strategy is carried out by Bumi As Syifa Daya Housing in Makassar City and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in marketing their housing products. The purpose of this study is to explain the marketing communication strategy used by Bumi As Syifa Daya Housing in Makassar City and to find out what factors support and hinder the marketing of Bumi As Syifa Daya Housing in Makassar City. This type of research is included in qualitative descriptive research using a research approach, namely the marketing communication approach. The results of this study indicate that: the marketing communication strategy used by Bumi As Syifa Daya housing includes 1) marketing communication mix, namely: a) sales promotion, b) advertising, c) publicity and d) direct marketing. 2) the supporting factors are: a) cooperating with property agents, b) having different characteristics and complete facilities, c) 100% sharia housing that does not apply confiscation, fines, or interest. 3) The inhibiting factors are a) the lack of public education about sharia property, b) the road conditions are not good enough to pass, c) and the DP is too high.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is (1) to find out how the perceptions of Islamic Family Law Students at IAIN Bone regarding vaccine hoax news during the pandemic that circulated on WhatsApp social media, and (2) to find out what actions were taken to reduce the circulation of this hoax news circulating. via social media WhatsApp. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The scientific approach in this research is to use a communication science approach, especially in mass communication. Data collection methods used are in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The sources of data for researchers came from theoretical books. Furthermore, data processing techniques and data analysis were carried out to answer the existing questions. The data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study show that (1) how are the perceptions of students majoring in Islamic family law (HKI) IAIN Bone related to Hoax news about vaccines which are widely circulated on social media, especially WhatsApp social media which says that vaccines contain something that is not good for health. body. (2) how are the responses and actions taken by the students of the Islamic Family Law Department (HKI) IAIN Bone in responding to the circulation of this hoax news? Because where Hoax news is very disturbing and has a lot of negative impacts, especially on the general public.

Abstract

This study aims to determine post-truth representation in the context of virtual world hyperreality, based on the 2017 Fyre Festival case study documented in the film “Fyre Fraud”. Postmodern humans live in a post-truth digital era; relating to a situation where emotions influence public opinion more than objective facts. Post-truth is increasingly spreading due to the rise of simulacra machines, known as cyberspace. The study takes a descriptive qualitative method and employs Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis model in its media text analysis research. The results reveal that the "Fyre Fraud" documentary represents post-truth, symbolized through audiovisual and cinematographic techniques. Representation is found in six scenes: (1) Manipulating emotions and personal beliefs, shown through the FOMO cyberculture movement. (2) Human behavior spending time looking for information in cyberspace indicates a well-informed millennial society. (3) The influencers and social media's presence as a catalyst for agenda setting. (4) Visualization of information chaos in the form of misinformation and disinformation through Fyre Festival promotional materials. (5) Truth alteration through photo manipulation to produce an alternate reality. (6) Truth is repressed and ignored through news wars and comment deletion.

Abstract

This research discusses the Message of Proselytizing in the Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2 (Semiotic Analysis of Roland Barthes). This study aims to (1) find out what proselytizing messages are contained in the Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2" which airs on the big screen (2) know the meaning of the signs in the Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2" which airs on the big screen. This research uses qualitative methods. The data collection technique uses observation and documentation techniques, namely downloading the Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2" via the internet. Researchers classified some snippets of scenes from the Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2" and then sorted out the scenes containing proselytizing messages for deeper study. Data analysis using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method. The results of the study obtained after analyzing the Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2" (Semiotic Analysis of Roland Barthes) showed that (1) The proselytizing messages of the film shown Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2" containing the message of proselytizing categorized in the form of proselytizing, akidah, shari'ah (worship) and moral messages. (2) The meaning of the signs contained in the Religious Horror Film "Hypocritical 2" using Roland Barthes's semiotic theory of Connotative and Denotative signs.

Abstract

This research raises the subject matter of "How is the Social Service Policy in handling Street Children in Makassar City?" with sub-problems, namely: What is the Social Service Policy in handling Street Children in Makassar City?” And the supporting factors and obstacles experienced by the Social Service in handling street children in Makassar City? This study uses a qualitative research type located at the Makassar City Social Service Office. The research approach used is a social work approach. The primary data sources for this research are Makassar City Social Service employees (key informants), additional informants are street children and parents of street children. Secondary data sources are books, research results, and other documents related to this research that are complementary to primary data. The methods of collection are observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis with three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the Makassar City Social Service issued a policy in the form of patrols and carried out a training policy for 7 days. The supporting factors obtained by the Social Service in terms of handling street children in Makassar City are the political will from the Makassar City government as a city free from street children. Second, there is good cooperation between the Makassar Social Service patrol team and the Satpol PP and Police. The inhibiting factors are the increasing number of street children every year and the absence of a special place that can be used as a place for fostering street children who are successful in raids. The implication of this research is that one of the policies of the Social Service regarding the handling of street children is that outreach must be developed and improved both in terms of further guidance and practice. The Makassar City Government should immediately build a special orphanage for street children which be directly fostered by social workers to improve and optimize policies for handling street children so as to reduce the number of street children each year.

Abstract

This research focuses on the subject matter of the method of social rehabilitation center for the elderly Gau Mabaji in improving the welfare of the elderly in Bontomarannu sub-district Gowa regency. From the main problem above, the researchers compiled sub-problems that were formulated into two research questions, namely: 1) How are the efforts of the Gau Mabaji social rehabilitation center to improve the welfare of the elderly in Bontomarannu sub-district Gowa regency? 2) What are the obstacles experienced by the Gau Mabaji social rehabilitation in improving the welfare of the elderly in the Bontomarannu district Gowa regency? This type of research is descriptive qualitative research using a social work science approach. The sources of data in this study are primary data sources obtained from social workers and the elderly and secondary data sources obtained from books, journals, scientific papers, research results, documentation, and other documents related to the problems studied. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data analysis, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that 1). The efforts of the Gau Mabaji social rehabilitation center to improve the welfare of the elderly are: First, services for physical needs such as boarding and consumption services. Second, health services such as health checks and exercise. Third, educational psychosocial services such as tutoring, skills guidance, and counseling. Fourth, is the service of spiritual needs. 2). The inhibiting factors for the Gau Mabaji elderly social rehabilitation center improving the welfare of the elderly are the quality of the existing human resources not all of them have the ability to communicate well with the elderly, the lack of social workers so that they have difficulty in dealing with the elderly, delays in implementing programs for the elderly.

Abstract

This study raised the subject matter of "The Role of the Social Service in Distributing Basic Food Aid during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Makassar City", with sub-problems namely: 1) What are the steps of the Social Service in distributing basic food assistance in Makassar City and 2) What are the obstacles What are the problems faced by the Social Service in distributing basic food assistance in Makassar City? This research is qualitative research that discusses the role of the Social Service in Distributing Basic Food Aid during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Makassar City which is located at the Makassar City Social Service office using a research approach that is a scientific discipline that is used as a reference in analyzing the object under study in accordance with logic. that science. The primary data sources in this study were the Head of the Social Extension Section as the main informant, the Problem Handling Counselor at the Social Service Office, and the Head of the Social Extension Section at the Makassar City Office, and the community receiving basic necessities as additional informants. Secondary data sources in this study are books, journals, the internet, and other data sources as complementary data. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected by conducting observations, interviews, documentation, and reference searches. Data processing techniques go through three stages, namely: observation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that 1) The role of the Social Service in terms of policies, regulations, and strategies for distributing social assistance in the form of basic necessities in Makassar City has been carried out well. This can be seen from the target of distributing basic necessities by the Social Service, with the updating of data on social assistance recipients in coordination with the relevant institutions. 2) Obstacles faced by the Social Service are lack of time in distributing basic necessities, community data errors, and community turmoil that is too high.
