Abstract

Rejang Lebong Regency has problems with Land Use (LU) change, which has an impact on increasing space utilization. The rise of this issue has led to cases of spatial violation, namely the existence of LU that aren’t in accordance with Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). This study aims to examine LU change in Rejang Lebong in 2005-2016 and its suitability with Rejang Lebong RTRW 2012-2032. The method used in this study’s descriptive quantitative with Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing based analysis technique. The result shows that the LU change in 2005-2016 was 55,336,17 Ha, of which 86.75% of it were in accordance with RTRW, while 13.25% of it weren’t in accordance with RTRW. Result of research indicate there’re 374,77 Ha of it located in disaster prone area, that’s in Sindang Kelingi District, Sindang Dataran, Bermani Ulu, Bermani Ulu Raya and Binduriang. In the area of settlement 299.96 Ha of them lies in the steep slopes whose characteristics aren’t suitable as it. This discrepancies, particularly those occurring in protected areas, can’ve a negative impact on the sustainability of nature and increase the vulnerability of communities in the event of a disaster. This’s because there’re new settlement areas developing in protected areas.

Abstract

Magelang regency has high volcanic eruption risk level from high to low. The 2010 eruption disaster was the most explosive among the others in the past decade. The high level of hazard with unpreparedness from community and the government in dealing with disasters in 2010 made poor evacuation. Based on these problems the assessment preparedness level of disaster infrastructure is important. Because it can reduce the impact of damage and disadvantages obtained by the community. The research question is "Is disaster mitigation infrastructure in volcano disaster prone region of Mount Merapi Magelang ready for emergency and post-disaster conditions?" The purpose of this study is to assess the preparedness of mitigation infrastructure such as evacuation route, evacuation building, early warning system, sanitation and water in disaster-prone areas of volcanic eruption in Magelang Regency, especially Dukun District. The data are collected from field observation and interview. This research used quantitative method, and the scoring analysis assessment used few parameters based on the readiness of each infrastructure. The analysis shows that the disaster mitigation infrastructure of Magelang Regency, especially Dukun district is not ready for all residents in KRB III area. The result of analysis shows that 57% of disaster infrastructures have feasible condition and function. The result caused the level of disaster infrastructure in Dukun Sub-district to be "Almost Ready". Infrastructures that need to be improved are toilet facilities, water facilities, and evacuation site. Infrastructures that have been categorized as ready are early warning systems, garbage and evacuation routes. Some of the existing infrastructure is ready for use but still need improvement or additional infrastructure to serve all disaster prone area community.

Abstract

Semarang City Government in 2009 inaugurated the public transportation called Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Trans Semarang. BRT Trans Semarang has 6 corridors in total and one of them named Corridor I. BRT Trans Semarang Corridor 1 is not the only way to solve the transportation problems in Semarang directly. It has been operating for about 8 years, but the load factor from Trans Semarang Corridor I is still below the standard set by the government and an increase in the number of private vehicles. These are indicating that BRT Trans Semarang Corridor I not become the main mode of transportation of the community in performing daily activities. Based on the problems, this study aims to determine the determinant factors that affect the public preference to BRT Trans Semarang Corridor I. The method of this study is a quantitative method. While the analysis is factor analysis which is used to identify the relationship structure among variables by looking at the correlation between them. In addition, the study also used descriptive statistical analysis as a complement and supporting data only. The study shows that people's preference around Trans Semarang Corridor I is still low, as many as 39.4% of people prefer Trans Semarang Corridor I as the main mode of transportation in performing its daily activities. While the people who still have not used Trans Semarang Corridor I is about 60.6% of people. The public preference is influenced by several factors, they are travel cost, comfort, security, and travel time. The community will still use Trans Semarang Corridor I or switch from private vehicle to Trans Semarang Corridor I if there are several factors that must be improved from Trans Semarang Corridor I. Based on the result of factor analysis, the factors that need to be prioritized or upgraded in Trans Semarang Corridor I are comfort, staff friendliness, security, rates, and facilities.

Abstract

The destination of travel to work place and educational facilities are called as main trip which is a daily routine, on the other hand, another trip  is a choice, not a routine (Tamin, 2000). One of the travel type which is interested to be studied is a travel of elementary students to their schools. This travel has to be considered because there is a physical constraint of students which cause the different trip with adult. The objective of this research is to identify the travel pattern  from various trips of individual who are doing the trip to elementary school. By knowing the various characteristics of student’s trip to school, there will be a way to know the problems caused by the trip process. This research is done in Semarang Tengah District and it is a central urban zone which can cause effects to the students of elementary school in terms of travel pattern. Data is collected by doing survey to the households which have children aged at elementary school. Method used in this research is quantitative method. Quantitative-descriptive analysis method with analysis to the frequency distribution and spatial using GIS. The results show that there is a trip pattern of elementary students in Semarang Tengah district, particularly regarding the mode preference and route choice which is determined by age, vehicle owning, time, and distance. On the other side, same time to go to school and going to work by parents only affect the trip to school with private car. The most used transportation mode is with motorcycle and by passing the fastest route
