Abstract

The synthesis of ZSM-5 was done from bagasse waste ash and sodium silicate as source of silica and aluminium hydroxide as source of alumina with use heating method on oven and reflux. The synthesis was done by reacting sodium silicate and sodium aluminate at pH 11-12 until is formed gel. Gel through are taken to caried out heating on oven and reflux at 1100C for 1, 3, 5, dan 7 days. Product which obtained are washed by aquades until pH neutral, through are dried at 1100C for 10 hours.Characterization of product are carried out by Fourrier Transform InfraRed (FTIR) and X-Ray Diffraction (X-RD). Heating use reflux more effective than oven. Optimum result are obtained for heating at 5 days. Diffractogram are obtained showed that mixture of mineral such as Nacrite, Aluminum Silicate Oxide Hydrate, and ZSM-5. Spectrum FTIR showed that heating on reflux at wavenumber 609,51 cm-1 are showed double ring vibration of ZSM-5 framework.

Abstract

Abstract: Has done research on use of chitosan from shrimp skin (Peneaus monodon) waste as antimicrobial agents in the process of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) storage. The purpose of this research is to isolate chitin from the shrimp skin (Peneaus monodon) waste into chitosan, and use as an alternative to be a natural antimicrobial compounds as well as determine the optimum concentration of chitosan solution as a preservative of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). This research was carried out by preparation of chitosan from shrimp skin (Peneaus monodon) was begin with deproteination using 3.5% NaOH, demineralization using HCl 1N, and deacetylation using 50% NaOH, analyzing its deacetylation degree by baseline method. Then it was used as an antimicrobial of tilapia, tilapia was immersed in a solution of chitosan by varying the concentration (w/v) 1%, 1.5% and 2% in 2% acetic acid. Storage was varied within 0 days, 1 day, 2 days; 3 days, and 4 days. The results of extraction was found white-grayish colour chitin and white chitosan with deacetylation degree of 66.73%. The optimum concentration of chitosan as an antimicrobial agent of tilapia is 2% with storage time of four day which preserve the fish is consumable.

Abstract

Diabetes Millitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels. Cinnamon oil has an antidiabetic potential. Cinnamaldehyde is the main component of cinnamon oil (78 %) containing of aldehyde group which can be modified into the ester group is expected to be potentially as an antidiabetic. The purpose of this research was to isolate cinnamaldehyde from cinnamon oil, cinnamaldehyde oxidation became cinnamic acid, butyl cinnamate synthesis from cinnamic acid and activities test of butyl cinnamate as an antidiabetic. The method of this research was oxidation and esterification. Butyl cinnamate obtained from the synthesis is orange-yellowish liquid and fragrant smell with it’s yield as big as 97,79 %. The result of FTIR shows that it has been formed butyl cinnamate with absorption of ester (C-O), whereas the results obtained by GC-MS is an abundance of butyl cinnamate as big as 100 %. The result of the antidiabetic test, butyl cinnamate have IC50 value as big as 120,951 ppm.
