Abstract

This study examines the representation of marginalized groups in social spaces through a critical humanities approach, focusing on inequality, power relations, and cultural inclusion. This research employs a qualitative method with critical content analysis of academic literature concerning social representation, marginality, cultural identity, and social recognition. The findings reveal that marginalization occurs not only through limited access to material resources but also through symbolic mechanisms that shape how certain groups are perceived and recognized within society. Media and cultural practices function as ambivalent arenas that may reproduce stereotypes while simultaneously providing spaces for identity negotiation and cultural resistance. This study argues that cultural inclusion should not merely be understood as social integration, but as a process of recognizing the diverse experiences, knowledge, and identities of marginalized groups. The novelty of this research lies in positioning marginalized groups as knowledge producers and cultural agents rather than merely objects of social inquiry. This perspective strengthens the contribution of critical humanities in understanding the dynamics of plural societies through a more inclusive and contextual approach.
