Abstract

AbstractMid mentally retardation children in SLB Merdeka Sidoarjo had difficulty in learning mathematics they needed the exact learning strategy to enhance the result of learning mathematics. The learning strategy which would be use was the strategy of expository learning with video media. The purpose of this research was to prove the influence of expository learning strategy with video media toward the result of learning mathematics to mid mentally retardation children in SLB Merdeka Sidoarjo.The method of this research used the quantitative approach of pre experiment kind with “pre experimental design (non design)”, “one group pre test – post test design”, the data collected by using test method (writing test and oral test), observation and documentation, observation was used to gain the data of the ability of learning mathematics result to mid mentally retardation children before giving treatment and after giving treatment while the data of documentation was as the supporting data or proof that the research was really done.The research result indicated that the initial observation / pre test obtained was averagely 203,2 and after giving treatment the last observation / pos test obtained was averagely 316,2. It indicated that there was significant enhancement. Zh value = 2,20 was greater than critic value 5% Zt = +1,96 which meant that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted. So it could be concluded that there was influence of learning expository strategy with video media toward the result of learning mathematics to mid mentally retardation children in SLB Merdeka Sidoarjo.Keywords: expository strategi, the result of leraning mathematics

Abstract

ABSTRACT Scrutinizing skill was one of the aspects in speech. Scrutinizing skill with attention and comprehension was so important for the children’s development of speech skill because most of teaching-learning process in the school used oral language. Scrutinizing skill was experienced by the autism children with disturbance in receptive language skill and tended to stand out in using language for communicating to others. If the disturbance of scrutinizing to the autism children was not handled they would have experienced disturbance during learning Indonesian lesson. The purpose of this research was to observe the scrutinizing skill of autism children before and after giving intervention using Brain Gym method. This research used Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A design. The time used was 32 times meeting i.e. 9 times meeting to baseline phase (A), 18 times meeting to baseline phase (B), 5 times meeting to baseline phase (A2). The techniques of data collection used were observation and documentation. The technique of data analysis used was visual analysis inside condition and among condition. The scrutinizing skill of autism children in SLB Al Falah Sembayat Manyar Gresik before giving intervention only 5 times emerged the ability in scrutinizing which included listening ability, understanding ability, and responding ability. However, after giving intervention in the form of giving Brain Gym method in learning, the trend experienced enhancement in steps i.e. 16-19 times emerged the scrutinizing ability of autism children which included listening, understanding, and responding to each meeting. The research result indicated that to baseline phase (A1) the average frequency appearance of tending behavior showed 6. Intervention phase (B) indicated 17. And to baseline repetition phase (A2) tended 12. The subject percentage to overlap data of intervention phase (B) to baseline (A) was 0% while the percentage to overlap data of intervention phase (B) to baseline repetition phase (A2) indicated 0%. It could be stated that the application of Brain Gym method could enhance scrutinizing ability to autism children in SLB Al Fatah Sembayat Manyar Gresik.   Keywords: Scrutinizing ability, Brain Gym

Abstract

ABSTRACT Deaf students are unable to hear. They use their sense of vision sight to obtain information. To do this, they rely on a visual learning. The cutting ability of deaf students can be optimally developed as they have potential in doing visual tasks. Direct instruction model is a teaching approach which is able to help deaf students study the basic skills and obtain information based on the structured procedure. This research aims to determine the effect of direct instruction model on the ability of deaf students to cutting in class VI SLB B Karya Mulya Surabaya. The results of data analysis by Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test are Zobserved (Zh) = 2.20 with  Ztables 5%= 1.96, as Zh> Ztable is 2.20 larger than 1.96. It means that there is a significant influence of the direct instruction model on the ability of deaf students to cut in class VI SLB B Karya Mulya Surabaya. Abstract

ABSTRACT The ability to make soybean milk is an individual’s ability in doing soybean processing products. It is not only able for consumption but also for prospective business. It is not easy to train students with visual impairment to be independent. Being, independent, it is expected that students with visual impairment develop their knowledge and skills in social life. Student with visual impairment is an individual whose eyesight is not normally functioning receiver in daily activities as on normal people do. In giving assignment to make soybean milk, teacher must apply a learning model that suits the needs and conditions of these students. In this case, an interesting, varied and concrete learning strategy is needed to facility students’ learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the ability of students with visual impairment to make soybean milk before and after the get intervemtions using Project Based Learning. The pre-experimental approach was applied in this research. The researchs spent eight meetings with six times interventions. The research design was one group pretest posttest design, seven students were selected as the research sample. The data collection techniques were test, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques was non-parametric statistics using sign test. The analysis showed that there was improvement in the scores of students with visual impairment from the pretest score 52,86, to the post test score 85,00. The result of the study which were analyzed by using sign test formula obtained Zobserved (Zh) = 2.27, while the Ztable with 5% significance for two-sided test is 1.96. Therefore, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted proven by (1.96 <2.27> 1.96). Based on these data, it can be concluded tha the Project Based Learning Model (Project Based Learning) affected the students with visual impairment ability to make soybean milk in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya.   Keywords: Project Based Learning, the ability to make soybean milk

Abstract

ABSTRACT Pre-vocational skills are associated with skill that can bring rewards or income. Since the blind students have barriers in pre-vocational skills that these barriers have an impact on the results of vocational unfavorable skills. Blind students, whose vision (both eyes) do not function as a channel receiver of information in daily activities like normal people. Referring to the students’un optimal pre-vocational skills, so the stimulus is needed to make pre-vocational skills become properly and optimally. The purpose of this research is to improve blind students’ pre-vocational skills in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya. The research used pre-experimental Design, using One-Group Pre-Test and Post-Test design. The subjects of this research were 6 students. There were 6 meetings with 4 intervention in this research. The data were collected by using test and documentation. The collected data were analyzed by non-parametric statistical analysis using sign test. The result showed that there was increasing score of blind students’ vocational skills that was 57,91 in pre-test, and 82,50 in post-test for average. From result was analyzed by using sign test, it was found that Zobserved (ZH) was 2.251, while Ztable at 5% significant level for both sides was (Zt=1.96). Therefore, Ho is refused and Ha is accepted (1.96<2.251>1.96). Based on the research result, it can be concluded that there was the influence of salty eggs training on blind students’ pre-vocational skill of eighth grade in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya   Keywords: Pre-Vocational Skills, Making Salty Eggs

Abstract

ABSTRACT                    Based on observations in SLB Pandaan stated that, VIII grade deaf students do not know how to make a simple batik. The purpose of this research is to apply the method of demonstration to improve the skills of batik making it simple for deaf students of class VIII SLBN Pandaan Pasuruan. This research is a classroom action research using action research model of Kemmis and Taggart. Techniques of data collection is done by using observation and tests, while the data were analyzed using descriptive data analysis. This research was conducted in three cycles. This is because the first cycle, there are still many shortcomings then resumed in cycle 2 and cycle 3. Implementation of the demonstration method possible for deaf students in the eighth grade SLB Pandaan has a basic concept to learn how to make a simple batik. With the results of a study conducted by researchers showed an increase after the action was held in cycle 1, cycle 2 and cycle 3. The improvement can be seen from the students who can not make this into a simple batik can make this simple batik correctly. Abstract

ABSTRACT Blind people have barriers to the sense of vision. The barriers of the function of the sense of vision affect the teaching and learning activities. Especially of the blind children of TKLB. These children have problem in recognizing numbers. Blind children need creative and appropriate learning, Such as contextual learning in which the teachers link the learning materials with the children’s environment. The objective of this study is to determine whether or not there is an effect of the implementation of contextual learning on the ability to recognize braille numbers of the blind children. This study used quantitative methods, namely pre-Experimental Design and One using Group Pre-test Post-Test Design. The data were collected using test. The data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics, sign test with n=6 and α=5%. The results show that the average score of pre-test is 30 and post-test is 88. The results of data analysis show that Z observed (2,05)> Z table 5% (1,96). It is concluded that Ha is accepted dan Ho is rejected. This means that there is a significant effect of the implementation of contextual learning on the ability to recognize Braille numbers of the blind children of TKLB of SLB-A YPAB Surabaya.   Keywords: Contextual Learning, Braille Numbers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Autism children had motoric hindrance in the form of the appearance of stereotype behavior (such as clapping and moving body), impulsivity, and hyperactive or adversely hypoactive. In addition there was motoric coordination retarded, tiptoe walking, clumsiness, could play with the peers, lack of attitude exactness and body movement, twisting, very hyperactive, jumping and flapping hands, etc. so the basic movement of locomotor was limited compared with the peers. The basic movement of locomotor was the movement which was done by human in general such as walking, running, jumping, leaping, etc. Every human always did this movement in every activity. To develop the basic movement of locomotor ability the autism children needed games modified exactly to enhance the basic movement of locomotor ability. This research had used obstacle-block game as the exact game to enhance the basic movement of locomotor ability for autism children. This research used quantitative approach with pre experiment kind, and used “One group pretest – posttest design”, with 6 autism students in SDN 7 Sidokumpul Gresik as the subject, each of them had initial: MI, MR, HH, AN, IA, and RD. This research used the design through a test before giving treatment (O1) once and after giving treatment (O2) twice, so there was comparison between O1 and O2 to know the treatment effectiveness X, the treatment was given 8 times. The data obtained was analyzed by statistic non parametric with sign test. From the result of statistic test in the research of the influence of obstacle-block game toward the basic movement of locomotor ability to autism children in SDN 7 Sidokumpul Gresik, it indicated that Zh value obtained was 2,05 greater than crisis value 5% i.e. 1,96 so Ho (null hypothesis) was refused and Ha (work hypothesis) was accepted. The work hypothesis above was proven that “The obstacle-block game influenced toward the basic movement of locomotor ability to autism children in SDN 7 Sidokumpul Gresik”.   Keywords: Basic movement of locomotor, obstacle-block game

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research had purpose to observe whether there was influence of multisensory articulation method toward the ability of beginning reading-writing Al-Quran letters with At-Tartil model to hearing impairment students in SLB-B Dharma Wanita Sidoarjo. The approach of this research was quantitative descriptive. The research kind was experiment with Single Subject Research (SSR) arrangement of A-B-A design. The research subject was six hearing impairment children in the third class of SLB-B Dharma Wanita Sidoarjo who had difficulty in reading-writing Al-Quran letters at beginning. The time implication research was 14 times meeting with 3 times baseline (A1), 8 times intervention (B), and 3 times repeating baseline (A2). The technique of data collection in this research used technique test and observation. The research result indicated the average score accumulation of baseline phase (A1), it was continued to intervention phase (B), and it was done repeating baseline (A2) to the ability of beginning reading-writing Al-Quran with VY result which had the average baseline score (A1) i.e. 17,3; to intervention phase (B) i.e. 24,25; and to repeating baseline phase (A2) i.e. 30. NB had the average baseline score (A1) i.e. 19,3; to intervention phase (B) i.e. 29,87; and to repeating baseline phase (A2) i.e 32,67. DN had the average score of baseline (A1) i.e. 20,3; to intervention phase (B) i.e. 24; and to repeating baseline phase (A2) i.e. 30,3. DV had the average score of baseline (A1) i.e. 16,67; to intervention phase (B) i.e. 24,87; and to repeating baseline phase (A2) i.e. 30. FN had the average score baseline (A1) i.e. 18; to intervention phase (B) i.e. 25,12; and repeating baseline phase (A2 i.e. 30. RZ has the average score of baseline (A1) i.e. 20; to intervention phase (B) i.e. 27,62; and repeating baseline phase (A2) i.e. 31,3 so they could be interpreted that the initial ability to baseline phase (A1) could be enhanced through intervention (B) with showing the test result of repeating baseline (A2) which had enhancement. Based on the data it could be concluded that there was influence of multisensory articulation method toward beginning reading-writing Al-Quran letters with At-Tartil chapter 1 to hearing impairment students in SLB-B Dharma Wanita Sidoarjo.   Keywords: Multisensory articulation, reading-writing Al-Quran, At-Tartil model

Abstract

ABSTRACT Communication was a dynamic process which used language as the main equipment at the moment an individual was doing social relationship with the other individuals which involved feeling expression, conveying idea, willing, needs, and purpose inside. Autism itself had obstacle such as behavior, communication, and social. In the communication there was non-verbal communication. Based on the problem, the autism children required PECS (Picture Exchange communication System) method. The method of PECS (Picture Exchange communication System) was an approach to train communication using verbal symbols. The purpose of this research was to know whether there was influence of PECS (Picture Exchange communication System) method toward non-verbal communication to autism children in YP PG/TK Puri Mutiara Bunda Sidoarjo or not. The method of this research used was quantitative pre experiment kind. The design used one group pre-test post-test with 6 subjects of autism children. The technique of data collection used was treatment test. The test was done to obtain the quantitative data about non-verbal ability using PECS (Picture Exchange communication System) method. The research result was proven that non-verbal communication ability using PECS (Picture Exchange communication System) method was obtained ZH value = 2,05. Because ZH value was 2,05 (above / greater than 1,96) so it could be concluded that Ho (Null hypothesis) was refused and Ha (Work hypothesis) was accepted. If Ha was accepted it meant there was influence of using PECS (Picture Exchange communication System) method toward non-verbal communication ability to autism children in YP PG/TK Puri Mutiara Bunda Sidoarjo.     Keywords: PECS (Picture Exchange communication System) method, non-verbal communication
