Abstract

Ideally, orphans that live in orphanage don’t have any trouble with the environment. In fact, orphans frequently coped with troubles in orphanage environment. This research is purposed to find out troubles that related to social live, learning activity, and daily needs in orphanage environment. This research is descriptive research. Sample of this research is 40 orphans whose enter junior and senior high school. Instrument in this research is questionnaire. Results of this research reveal that orphans frequently faced unbalanced communication in orphanage environment, and also they get trouble with learning activity which is studying previous lesson. Orphans also have a trouble to fulfill their daily needs in orphanage environment.

Abstract

Self-concept of someone is heavily influenced by various factors, which include gender, cultural background and status. Related to guidance and counseling services in improving teenagers’ self-concept who live in an orphanage, is necessary to obtain a clear description about self- concept with a variety of factors that can affect it. This research uses a quantitative approach to type descriptive comparative. The research methods applied in the study was ex post facto with a sampling of data retrieval, research design using factorial design 2 x 4 x 2. Teenager’s self-concept of men and women are in middle category, average value of boys’ score are higher than girls, it means that  boys have  more positive view of themselves than girls. 2) Teenager’s self-concept in orphanages based on the cultural background of the Minangkabau, Mentawai, Java, and Batak are in middle category, there were no differences in teenager’ self-concept based on the cultural background of the Minangkabau, Mentawai, Java, and Batak who lives in an orphanage. 3) Teenager’s self-concept with orphan status and surrogate parents are in middle category, average value scores of teenager orphan status is higher than teenagers with the status of surrogate parents, it means that teenagers with orphan status have positive view of  himself rather than teenagers with surrogate parent status. 4) Teenager’s self-concept in terms of gender, cultural background, and status are in middle category, and there are interactions between gender variable, cultural background and status in explaining teenager’s self-concept. The implications of these results for the counselor are for a material consideration in the preparation of counseling service programs in improving teenager’s self-concept in an orphanage.

Abstract

Dad has a special role to the child. Fathers who work casually have a limited time to be with his children. The purpose of this research is to know the child's perception of the father's role in the family and its implications for guidance and counseling services. This research is descriptive quantitative research with the populations is adolescent. Determination of the number of samples using cluster sampling technique. Retrieval of data using questionnaires and analysis with techniques percentage. The results of this study reveal the child's overall perception of the father's role in the category very well.

Abstract

Implementation of the non-test instrument is essential to support the guidance and counseling services in schools. Phenomenon in the field of guidance and counseling teachers less preparing/planning the implementation of the non-test instrument and there is guidance and counseling teachers who do not deliver the results to the students as well as less use of non-test instrument results . This study aims to describe students' opinions about: (1) preparation/planning, (2) the administration, (3) the delivery of results, and (4) the use of non-test instrument results. Type a descriptive study with a class XI student population numbering 178 people. Samples numbered 61 people were taken using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by a percentage formula. The results showed that students' opinions on the implementation of the non-test instrument with respect to: (1) preparation/planning done well, (2) the administration, (3) the delivery of results, and (4) the use of non-test results is less instrument performing well.

Abstract

For students who are in puberty, they should have a self-concept in the face of changes experienced during puberty. Where they should have the knowledge, hope, and an assessment of the rapid body changes that occur at that time. But the facts on the ground, from observations and interviews that there are students who do not have a good self-concept in the face of puberty. This study classified the type of descriptive quantitative research. Research subjects were 79 students in the class VII puberty in SMP 13 Sijunjung. The research instrument is the questionnaire. Research findings reveal: in general students have a good self-concept in the face of puberty.

Abstract

Internalization of conformity need to be developed in education. Development of internalization of conformity in school environment make students can optimize their internal ability to think, feel, consider everything in behaving to obey school rules. In fact the social causes make students adhere to school rules such as fear sanctioned, want to be praised. Shame ridiculed friends and others. This research aims to describe student’s internalization of conformity with the regulations of arrival and presence, rules in learning and common rules in school and their implications in guidance and counseling services. The method used is descriptive research. The instrument research is quistionnaire. The population in this research was all students MAN 1 Model Bukittinggi and samples are 90 people. The finding of the research revealed that  most of internalization of conformity student for rules relatively middle in schools relating to the regulation of arrival and presence, rules in learning and common rules in school.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication through the internet is now becoming a trend among the public, especially students. Online communication is of  interest by students because it is cheap, easy and fast. The Internet as a communication medium between the interpersonal students with parents, teachers and fellow internet users. The use of the internet as a medium of interpersonal communication understood the students well. Aspects that should be understood in communicating interpersonal are students use of the internet, the purpose of the use of the internet, openness, attention, empathy, equality. This research is descriptive research, the population in this study are students of SMP Negeri Padang 25 that become the subject of research is as much as 69 students, data collected by using question form. This study reveals students' interpersonal communication through the internet and the implications for guidance and counselling services. Because most of students have yet to understand and implement the aspects of the accommodation.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah sebuah negara di dunia yang paling terdedah kepada bencana alam yang mengakibat pelbagai kerosakan muka bumi, kemusnahan harta benda di samping mendatangkan kecerderaan fizikal serta gangguan emosi dan psikologi. Keadaan ini jika tidak ditangani dengan kaedah yang tepat boleh mendatangkan masalah kesihatan mental dan psikososial di kalangan mangsa bencana. Kajian kuantitatif deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk melihat profil kaunselor, peranan, pengetahuan, dan minat dalam mengendalikan perkhidmatan kaunseling pasca bencana. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa 69%, responden pernah terlibat dalam kaunseling pasca bencana manakala 58.6% tidak mempunyai latihan asas dalam kaunseling pasca bencana. Dapatan kajian juga mendapati 100% responden berminat dan memerlukan latihan khusus dalam memberi perkhidmatan kaunseling pasca bencana. Implikasi dari kajian ini seterusnya membincangkan peranan kaunselor dalam perkhidmatan kaunseling pasca bencana, keperluan garis panduan dan latihan khusus kaunseling pasca bencana di Indonesia.
