Abstract

This article explains the naẓm (structure) position as one of the main aspects of miracles of al-Qur’ān. It explains that although al-Qur’ānis in Arabic, but it does not use the form and composition of models that have been used by the Arabs in their works. Al-Qur’ān performs in different way, not in the form of poetry, rhyme, letter or speech, but in kalām (theword). The article then explains that the way to make sense of this kalām was used as a pioneering theory by ‘Abd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī. This theory is then used and applied by al-Alūsī in his commentary book, Rūḥ al-Ma‘ānī. This study shows the importance of the naẓm of al-Qur’ān, in which it becomes specific guidelines for researcher to understand the message of the Qur’ān.Keywords: Qur’ānic miracles, naẓm, al-Alūsī.DOI: 10.15408/ref.v13i6.996

Abstract

Taking hermeneutical approaches, the present research tries to provide a new form of Qur’ānic interpretation of supplications comprised within the history of Abraham and Moses. Two ways to be conducted in this research: First, to apply Hirsch’s hermeneutics theory in reconstructing meanings as found in classical tafsir. Second, to excavate significances of the supplication verses on the basis of their validly verbal meanings. This last attempt is to apply some reconciliatory theses of Palmer’s “hermeneutics manifesto” to enliven meanings. Keywords: Hermeneutic of the Qur’ān, theory of holy scripture interpretation, verses of supplication, history of the prophets.DOI: 10.15408/ref.v13i6.997

Abstract

Can the Qur’ān be traded? Is it allowable and lawful to do commodification of the holy scripture? In view of the fact that Muslim communities mostly require the Qur’ān, an effort for commercialization of it directly emerges, and this article concerns on such Qur’ānic commodification. The concern is completed from by analyzing theological, Islamic jurisprudence, and ethical perspectives, to the using of material for the Qur’ānic publication (environmental conscience) and the involvement of the state as well, by proposing standard of commodification. Keywords: Commodification of Qur’ān, standard of commodification, Muṣḥaf.DOI: 10.15408/ref.v13i6.998

Abstract

The main problem discussed in this writing is a discourse of women qiwāmah (leadership) within the text. Several Qur’ānic verses are placed to legitimize opinions stated by textualists and contextualists people. This writing will discuss Qur’ānic interpretation through both parties, as well as causes which create the differences in between them. It uses historical approach and eclectical paradigm as well. Keywords: Gender, women leadership, tafsir.DOI: 10.15408/ref.v13i6.999

Abstract

This paper discusses the term ‘kodrat perempuan’ as a cultural value as well as a category of analysis. As a cultural value, kodrat perempuan reflects ideal measurement and standard of woman’s role. Meanwhile, as a category of analysis, it used to explain social realities where domestication and discrimination and their implications towards woman’s role can be elucidated. The source of discourse including religious discursive source plays an important role in constructing the meanings of kodrat either as a cultural value or as a category of analysis. Keywords: Nature of women, cultural values , norms, category analysis, gender, feminist.DOI: 10.15408/ref.v13i6.1000
