Abstract

This paper examines Khaled Abou El Fadl’s thoughts that focus on applying humanistic Sharia. Khaled considers the spread of Sharia with a humanistic pattern important because of the problem of not realizing the ideals of Islamic teachings that uphold justice, welfare, and other universal values at the level of reality for Muslims who experience backwardness and alienation. According to Khaled, this happened due to a misunderstanding in understanding the Sharia, resulting in a wrong practice. The misunderstanding that gave rise to this wrong practice has global implications, assuming that Islam is a non-humanistic religion. By using the analytical description method, this paper reformulates the humanistic Sharia proposed by Khaled from several of his works and rearranges it based on the theory of the leveling norms.

Abstract

Character education is important to instill in early childhood. The purpose of this research is to see the concept of character education for early childhood from the perspective of the Qur'an. The importance of education is not only found in the perspective of national education but also in the Qur'an, which leads to the formation of human morality. The method used in this study was by conducting library research. This descriptive research used a qualitative approach. Simultaneously, the data analysis technique applied content analysis by emphasizing the constancy of the content of communication, the meaning of the content of communication, the reading of symbols, and the meaning of the contents of the interaction of symbols in communication. The results of this study show that the Qur'an pays attention to education to shape the morale of early childhood and Muslims so that they become a person with a strong character. The novelty in research is that the Qur'an has outlined character education for early childhood by forming human morals through a) education and science (Q.S al-Baqarah: 266), b) cultivation of faith (Q.S an-Nisa: 59), and c) implementation of the Shari'a (Q.S al-Ankabut: 45). The implication of this research is that it can be applied as the main principle in Islamic education to shape the character of early childhood and as an effort to reorient the concept of Islamic education contained in the Qur'an.

Abstract

The study of the science of Qur'ānic dhabt in this paper aims to provide a specific explanation of the rules of dhabt and the law of writing in the Qur'ānic mushaf. This effort is necessary considering that there are various models of writing and their use so that the validity of the meaning of the Qur'an can be maintained. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Literature analysis in this study is based on two primary sources, namely Samir at-Thalibin fi ar-Rasmi wa Dhabth al-Kitab al-Mubin by Ali Muhammad ad-Dhabba' and Irsyad at-Thalibin Ila Dhabth al-Kitab al-Mubin by Muhammad Sâlim Muhaisîn. Based on the analysis that has been done, it is known that the rules of dhabt science explain specifically about the marking of vowels and tannins, writing tannin signs related to the end of the word, writing rules for tannin signs related to the letter after it, writing rules for Nun Sakinah signs related to the letter after it, writing rules for Ikhtilas Izharum and Imalah signs, writing rules for Tasydid signs, writing rules for Tasydid signs, writing rules for Mad signs, writing rules for Izhar and Idgham signs, writing rules for hamzah signs. Abstract

Researchers have widely reviewed the study of neuroscience, but the historicity of this science is not widely known. The rapid development of modern neuroscience cannot be separated from the contributions of Muslim scientists in the Middle Ages. This paper aims to explain the history of neuroscience in the Islamic intellectual tradition and its development to influence Western civilization. For this reason, this paper uses a descriptive-analytical method with library research. The study results show that Muslim scientists such as Abu Zaid Al-Balkh, Ibn Sina, Al-Ghazali Az-Zahrawi, and Al-Razi's contribution to modern neuroscience is impressive and cannot be forgotten. As an example of research on the brain's anatomy and its disorders discussed by Vesalius and Golgi, they refer a lot to books by Ibn Sina, Al-Balkhi, and Al-Zahrawi. Rene Descartes, who discovered the theory of brain physiology, has long been discussed by Al-Razi. Even the introduction of the relationship between brain and brain function was only known in the 17th century and has long been discussed by Al-Ghazali. An original and imaginative thought regarding one of the human body’s organs, Muslims are unaware of the extensive research done on neuroscience by traditional Muslim scholars, who were able to bring Islamic culture to its pinnacle in Andalusia and Cordoba. Therefore, it is appropriate to bring the findings back into the study material with full seriousness in the form and fresh face if Muslims want to advance.

Abstract

FPI is one among several Islamist Groups in Indonesia. Seeing through its fierce actions, people tend to judge FPI as radicals. Some political elites even classify it as terrorist. Despite the fact that it violates many rules, FPI claims to be a religious and pious one. The government disbanded FPI at the end of 2020 because of its numerous violent actions. However, it continues to get support from many Islamic communities. For some conservative Muslims, FPI actions are a sample of how Islamic teaching should be applied in daily life. Using qualitative research and narrative analysis, this paper explored the narrative of Sacred Text, especially the Quran and Hadith presented by FPI, on how it is managed, interpreted, and spread to the public. This paper also explored the possible errors FPI made in narrating sacred text. The results show FPI’s determination to interpret and narrate sacred text as a way to achieve a goal, without considering the views of other religious scholars and books that can better guide narrating and interpreting the Sacred Text.

Abstract

This study aims to assess individual habits in adopting digital payment technologies in Islamic philanthropic institutions. This research uses the UTAUT model, which explains user behavior in relation to information technology adoption. The population of this study was people who have used digital payments in philanthropic institutions, e.g., M-banking, QRIS, e-wallet, e-money, crowdfunding, marketplace, etc. A sample of 250 respondents was obtained using a random sampling technique. The UTAUT model was performed using structural equation modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS. The results showed that all constructs had a significant positive impact, except for the effect of facilitating conditions on usage behavior. This study shows that the digitization of payment transactions is still aimed at the segment of well-informed technology users. Policyholders, therefore, need to become more involved in the digital transformation campaign, which targets all potential segments, e.g., the middle-aged working class. Due to this segmentation, they have a high awareness of donations in addition to the income opportunities.
