Abstract

Liquid waste generated by batik industry in Sidoarjo Jetis directly discharged into water bodies will increase the concentration of COD, BOD, TSS, pH, Sulfide, Ammonia, Chromium, Phenols, Oils and Fats. The purpose of the study was to determine the concentration of COD, BOD, TSS, pH, Sulfide, Ammonia Total, Total Chromium, Phenols, Oils and Fats in Sidoarjo Jetis River. Batik effluent sampling carried out by the grab. Analysis example with pHmeter, Gravimetry, Reflux, Winkler, Iodometry, Kjeldahl, AAS and spectrophotometry. Sampling taken at the drain of industrial production process of batik. Laboratory test results exceeded the water quality standard of waste textile waste according to SK. Governor of East Java, 45 in 2002, pH, TSS = 160.00 mg/l, COD = 400.00 mg/l O2, BOD = 164 mg/l, Oils and Fats = 600.00 mg/l. Appropriate alternative for wastewater treatment with the. sewage treatment system uses a combination of alum and biological physics, namely the processing of coconut shell charcoal adsorbent and Anaerobic Baffle Reactor (ABR). ABR is able to separate the COD up to 98 %, physics processing can reduce levels of COD, Mn for 6 hours and 60 minutes for sedimentation time coagulant concentration of 50 ppm is equal to 67.05 % and coconut shells to remove the color.Keywords: Liquid Waste Batik, Coagulant, Coconut Shell Charcoal, Anaerobic Baffle Reactor

Abstract

The research was conducted on December 2013. The aim is to analyze and compare the concentration of Pb, Cu, Cd and Zn in brine water, sediment and T. telescopium at several stations with different activities and determine the relationship between the concentration of heavy metals in brine water, sediment toward T. telescopium, determine the consumption feasibility of T. telescopium based on the value of PTWI (Provisional Tolerable Weekly intake) and determine the status of waters pollution by using pollution indices and standard quality guidelines. The method used was a survey method that conducted at 4 stations with 5 sampling points. The results showed that the concentration of Pb, Cu, Cd , and Zn in brine water and sediment toward the concentration of metals in T. telescopium have a positive relationship. The calculation results of the PTWI value concentration of heavy metals average in T. telescopium is still feasible for consumption while doesn’t exceed the limits defined by FAO/WHO. Based on the status of pollution indices and standard quality guidelines in the waters around Batam shipyard industry is known polluted in the moderate level.Keywords: Heavy Metal Pb, Cu, Cd dan Zn, Brine Water, Sediment, T. telescopium

Abstract

Observations were conducted during four months from November 2013 to February 2014 to determine the carrying capacity of Mantang Sub district waters for aquaculture activities based on the parameters of physics, chemistry and plankton abundance as bio indicators and estimate the impact on economy and ecology in the development of aquaculture in coastal areas. The sources of data in this research were obtained from the determination of sampling locations for 6 stations, the analysis of waters existing was carried out by the measurement of physical, chemical and biological parameters as well as the carrying capacity for floating net cages with phosphorus method.The analysis results of waters environmental existing of Mantang sub district are still in good condition that is adapted to Government Regulation No. 51/2004 where the parameters of temperature, pH and DO still below the Quality Standard but for Phosphate parameter have shown an alarming condition. Stations that can not be developed for aquaculture activity are Mantang baru Island, Pasir Merah Island and Alang Island. While the calculation of the waters environmental carrying capacity of Mantang sub district is still able to accommodate 650 units of cage.Keywords : Carrying Capacity, Phosphorus Method, Aquaculture Activities

Abstract

The aim of this research to analyzed the relationship of physic environtment with worker stress on industrial worker welding shop at pekanbaru. The research method is Analytic Cross Sectional Study with total sampling method and 65 welding workshop workers as sample. Independent variable of this research is physical work environtment (noise, temperature, lighting), age, work period, time of exposure, and self safety tools. Analysis is doing by univariat, bivariate and multivariate.The result obtained is 4 variables that relationship with work stress on industrial worker welding shop that is, noise (p value: 0,004, OR: 8.119, 95% CL: 1,631-40,425), temperature (p value: 0,004, OR: 4,776, 95% CL: 1,608-14,179), lighting (p value: 0,001, OR: 7,778, 95% CL: 1,962-30,826) dan age (p value : 0,000, OR: 24,889, 95% CL: 3,019-205,154). From multivariate analysis acquired that temperature is the most dominant variable that relationship with work stress, 22 times having work stress more than worker that working at temperature < 32CKeywords: Welding, Environtment Physic, Work Stress

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential of natural resources and analyze models of ecotourism in the greening of development Bandar Sri Kayangan Lake Shore Tassel. This research has been carried out on 3 May to 27 June 2013. Survey method qualitatively analyzed descriptively. Primary data were collected through field observation, interviews and questionnaires survey with SWOT analysis. Found 54 species of vegetation. Types of plants suitable for greening are angsana (Pterocarpus indicus), trembesi (Albizia saman), rambutan hutan (Naphelium sp.), manggis (Garcinia sp.), Mendarahan (Myristica sp.), karet (Hevea brasilensis), bamboo (Family: Poacea), ara-ara (Ficus sp.), sukun (Artocarpus sp.), applicability (Artocarpus sp.), cempedak (Artocarpus integer), nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus), rengas (Gluta sp.), and banyan (Ficus Benyamina). Communities’ participation (government and other stakeholders) in the development of ecotourism is low. Need an integrated inter-agency coordination among local governments so that the implementation can be well integrated in accordance with spatial planning and RDTR and can have a clear policy and a firm local regulations governing the implementation of the program.Keywords: Ecotourism, Greening

Abstract

The research of drainase system was conducted in Desember 2011 in Duta Green City residential of subdistrict Simpang Tiga, sub-district office Marpoyan Damaiof Pekanbaru, Riau Province. The study applied to Desciptive Evaluatif, the method treatments to seek the Evaluation of the existence object. Research on governace of community-based drainage system aims to look at some important aspects that relate directly to the drainage network system in the residential Duta green City of Pekanbaru Riau Province. After doing research result obtained among other, performance drainage network in good condition, public understanding of sustainable drainage network system has been well 85,95 % people understand the function of sustainable drainage systems, public awarneness of Duta Green City to good drainage network system management, 90,70 % people are always and maintenance of drainage.Keywords: Duta Green City, Drainase System, Comprehension Human

Abstract

Conditions along the coastal mangrove Indonesia have shown significant damage, particularly the District Bantan. However, there are people who care about the benefits and functions of mangrove ecosystems. This caring community groups joined in a container called a Kelompok Masyarakat Pengawas (Pokmaswas). One such group is the Persatuan Nelayan Jalan Sejahtera (PNJS) Jangkang Village. This study aims to Develop a strategy to realize the empowerment Pokmaswas mangrove preservation. This study was conducted in January-April 2014 in Jangkang Village. To obtain data on mangrove management conducted an observational study in mangrove forests, while to obtain socio-economic data conducted by distributing questionnaires fishermen and comes with doing focus Group Discussion (FGD). After that is done to get the swot analysis of the community empowerment strategy. Research shows that the condition of mangroves in the Village Jangkang in good condition with density64.691.36/ha. Mangroves are the most dominating species of Rhizophoraapiculata. From the results of swot analysis conducted found 4 empowerment strategy manager mangrove communities that develop ecotourism in the region to manage the group, Improved skills-based mangrove communities make products, Implement training and development of mangrove utilization Lestari.Keywords: Mangrove, Pokmaswas, Strategy, Community Empowerment, PNJS

Abstract

Network for special road, especially in urban imbalance occurs between the growth rate of the road on one side with a growth rate of vehicles on the other, where the growth path is much smaller than the growth rate of the vehicle, this means showing the occurrence of an excessive load on the road. These conditions resulted in traffic congestion, disrupted travel convenience, travel fatigue, boredom trips, increased air pollution, wastage of time and material it also occurs on roads Soebrantas.The observation of the volume of vehicles on Sunday has the highest volume of 87.059 units 86.384 units followed Saturday and Sunday 73.125 units. The observation of Sunday vehicle top speed is 56,90 km/h followed Friday 54,57 km/h and Saturdays 50,26 km/h. Contributions load of pollutants CO are the largest contributor of pollutant loads. The total load of pollutants on Friday 5.265.420,06 grams/day consisting of CO: 92,43%, NOx: 6,32%, PM10: 1,0% and SO2: 0,25%. Total pollutant load Saturday 4.285.967,57 grams/day percentages: CO: 91,59%, NOx: 6,99%, PM10: 1,13% and SO2: 0,29%. The pollution load on the Sunday 5.215.978,35 grams/day percentages: CO: 92,29%, NOx: 6,41%, PM10: 1,04% and SO2: 0,26%.The main contribution of CO and NO2 pollutant load is predominantly gasoline fueled cars, the dominant source of PM10 motorcycle and SO2 pollutant load is the dominant truck. The results of ambient air quality monitoring for parameters of CO, NOx, PM10 and SO2 in Soebrantas streets on Friday to Sunday is still below the threshold value of ambient air quality.Keywords: Transportation, Motor Vehicles, Pollutant Load

Abstract

JICA in collaboration with the Ministry of Forestry is implementing for the development of the capacity of forest fire prevention, especially stakeholders in the planning and implementation of prevention village in the district which has 3 region with peat in Riau and West Kalimantan. Kubu Raya and Bengkayang regency as target districts in West Kalimantan province frequently experience land burning on area each year, which could be the cause of greenhouse gas emissions. The main factor for the cause of fires is human behavior in utilization land, although climatic and environmental conditions possible in the industry enlarge the possibility and fire intensity. The Objectives of this research in this program are to review the facts of land burned in two target districts in West Kalimantan. This research is implemented in 30 villages, in the two regencies from January 2014-May 2014. The research Methods used is quantitative analysis using questionnaire. The results of the study that should be considered in prevention are: (1) the respondents burn the land in terms of farming, especially clearing up after a period of fallow land, clearing land after the harvest, when to plant, weed eradication, non-agricultural activities, (2) Based on the purpose of burning with the commodities sought that farmers burn rice fields dominate, and (3) There are three combinations of purpose to burn with cultivated rice commodity is currently planted with a combination of eradicating pests, a combination of clean soil after harvest to eradicate pests and combination with clean soil when planting after fallow periods for the province of West Kalimantan and Kubu Raya while Bengkayang is a rice and annual crops.Keywords: Fires, Biomass Burning Behavior, Climate Change Mitigation

Abstract

This research aims to study farmer’s knowledge, perception and behavior on pesticide handling according to his social economic level, to study the perception and behavior of pesticide handling according to the farmer’s knowledge, to study the behavior of pesticide handling according to the farmer’s perception, and to formulate alternative guideline for pesticide handling to reduce the risk to environment.This collected data was interview and observation. It used cross sectional technique in data collection, using 50 samples from a total population of 266 people. The data were processed and analysed in a cross tabulation, followed with a statistic correlation test Range Spearman’s. The result of research shows that the farmer’s levels of social economy in Maharatu Village, Pekanbaru City is low, levels of knowledge, perception, and behavior towards pesticide handling by farmers are relatively high. The social economic level shows a significant correlation but gives small effect to the behavior in pesticide handling. The farmer’s levels of social economic shows a significant correlation and gives big effect to the knowledge and perception in pesticide handling. The farmer’s knowledge shows a significant correlation and gives big effect to the perception and behavior in pesticide handling. The farmer’s perception about pesticide shows a significant correlation and gives big effect to the behavior in pesticide handling to the environment.Keywords: Perception, Behaviour, Pesticide, Environment.
