Abstract

Heat transfer by convection is strongly influenced by the geometric shapes of heat exchangers and three dimensionless number, the Reynolds number, Nusselt number and Prandtl number with the environmental conditions of the surrounding air. Any environmental influences cause actual results and theoretical conditions differ. This is one of the problems at the plant in the production process results, especially the heat exchanger type of chiller. In this paper aims to determine the impact of the ammonia production process of the influence of changing environmental conditions and to apply the concept of heat and mass transfer in the Chiller as knowledge development models ammonia optimum production equipment in the ammonia. In this study, measurements were performed during the morning, afternoon, evening, and night on normal weather and rain by using thermo-anemometer and thermo-hygrometer. The results showed an increase in heat during heavy rains and decrease the heat when the normal environmental conditions. With the highest increase in the heat on the morning of 14 July 2015 where the air temperature was recorded at 26.3 ℃, the speed of 6.79 m / s, the air flow rate of 19 688 Watt heat and mass flow rate of the ammonia evaporates increased 49.797 kg / h to with 50.368 kg / h. Mass flow rate that evaporates due to the heat transfer air is not decreased by more than 1% despite the chiller effectiveness decreased from 90.422% to 61.259% due to boundary conditions which allowed fouling factor.

Abstract

Car leaf spring NISSAN CK12 included in the class of spring steel. The main properties of the steel spring are the elastic modulus and elastic limit. This study aimed to analyze the age and tool wear made from the leaf spring NISSAN CK12 and the HSS. This study uses a conventional lathe tool and Electronic Microscope to take a micro image of the eyes of the tool. The average value of hardness is highest in lathe tool from the leaf spring NISSAN CK12 which treated by Quenching 800ºC holding time of 60 minutes (heat treatment) hardness value by an average of 638.082 HV and from HSS lathe tool amounted to 623.723 HV. From the results obtained on the lathe Tool HSS during the cutting speed Vc = 66.7 m / min VB = 0.3017 tc = 7.17 min f = 0.3 mm / put, Non Treatment tool during the cutting speed Vc = 66 , 7 m / min, a = 0.7 mm VB = 0.3061 with tc = 6.77 minutes. Heat Treatment tool on cutting speed Vc = 66.7 m / min f = 0.3 m / put a = 0.7 mm VB = 0.3051 tc = 6.77 minutes. From the test results it can be concluded that the cutting speed (Vc) 66.7 m / min with a depth of 0.7 mm eating the entire tool wear results can be seen in cutting speed (Vc) 66.7 m / min with a depth of 0.7 mm that the tool of the leaf spring car given the heat treatment has a longer lifespan tools age compared with the leaf spring car Non Treatment. While the HSS has age and the wear rate which is higher than the second tool of the leaf spring car. As seen in HSS tool, the tool age is 1,41 min, Heat treatment tool 1,45 min, non heat treatment tool 1,46 min.

Abstract

The researchers conducted a study on the modification of the pipe in the boiler mini spiral pipe shape with a length of 196.8 cm pipe. By purpose to increase efficiency and temperature that would be generated by a mini boiler and also to determine the shape and length of pipe that is better for use in mini boiler. Results of the testing showed that the temperature rise had passed through the pipe superheater, on the model of spiral pipe an increase in temperature of 10,92 ° C with a steam temperature of 277,62 ° C, while the temperature of incoming steam coming out of the pipe superheater at 288.54 ° C. Researchers previously known to occur at temperatures of 16,6 ° C rise in temperature of incoming steam superheater piping temperature of 267,4 ° C and 284 ° C steam out. Testing for heating water in the boiler mini was conducted for 90 minutes. Spiral pipe temperature value is better than the previous penilitian pipe and the efficiency in the can on mini boiler which uses the spiral pipe is equal to 14,957%, while in the previous study only 5,63%.

Abstract

During spring valve release process of the car cylinder head, workshops experiencing difficulties due to the released manually. The release is done by hitting the outside of the valve spring retainer which can cause damage to the valve spring retainer and also may reduce the stiffness the valve spring. It is designed tools for release spring valve on the cylinder head car. In this paper is conducted for the initial phase to design a tool, and then carried out the calculation of the force required to remove the workpiece spring valve. Tools will be made in accordance with the calculations have been done then proceed with testing tools. Once the tool has been tested, the evaluation and study of literature that will be used for the selection of materials. From the data calculation, the force required to depress the valve spring is 1942.4 N and material using the steel SC-42. Mechanism of action of the tool using a lever or a lever in order to facilitate suppression valve springs.
