Abstract

This study aimed to determine the changes in physical and chemical characteristics of Lembah Palu Entisols added with gypsum. The research used a completely randomized design with four treatments and six replicates thus there were 24 experimental units.  Four gypsum rates were applied including no gypsum added, gypsum added at 10 t ha-1, 20 t ha-1, and 30 t ha-1.  The effect of gypsum was analysed using the Analysis of Variance and the differences between treatments were determined using Least Significant Difference test.  Experimental variable observed were saturated water content,field capacity water content, bulk density, soil porosity, plasticity index, electrical conductivity, and cation exchangeable capacity (CEC), Ca-exch content.  The addition of gypsum significantly affected all soil variables observed except soil porosity and CEC.

Abstract

This research aimed  to determine the effect of adding cow manure bokashi on some physical characteristics of Entisols of Lembah Palu. The research conducted from March to December 2015 at Soil Science Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Tadulako University. Soil sample was taken from Sidera village, Sigi Biromaru sub district of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi province.  The research used a randomize block design with the cow manure bokashi as treatment. The cow manure bokashi was added at various rates i.e. 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%. Data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance to determine the cow manure effect and Least Significance Ddifferent Test to determine the differences between the treatments. The 15% cow manure bokashi treatment resulted in lowest bulk density (1,28 g cm-3), plasticity index (36,43) and liquid limit (54,17). The same treatment also produced largest porosity (50,75%), field capacity (33,22%) and saturated water (56,38%) contents

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the break-even point of fried shallot business at Acran Sigi Industry in Lolu Village, Sigi Biromaru District, Sigi Regency. This study was conducted in Acran Sigi Industry in March-April 2016. The types of data used were primary and secondary data. The respondents of this study comprised two people, namely the owner of Acran Sigi Industry and an unfixed worker of Acran Sigi Industry. The results showed that the break-even point for the 100 g Original packaging was achieved at the production volume of 18 (eighteen) packagings, so that income obtained during the break-even point was of Rp 450,000. The break-even point for the 100 g Spicy packaging was achieved at the production volume of 15 (fifteen) packagings, so that income obtained during the break-even point was of Rp 405,000. The break-even point for the 200 g Original packaging was achieved at the production volume of 7 (seven) packagings, so that income obtained during the break-even point was of Rp 350,000. The break-even point for the 200 g Spicy packaging was achieved at the production volume of 6 (six) packagings, so that income obtained during the break-even point was of Rp 324,000. The results showed that Acran Sigi Industry had reached the favorable or profit area because production exceeded the break-even point.

Abstract

Sawi (Brassica juncea L.) merupakan salah satu jenis sayur-sayuran yang banyak di konsumsi oleh masyarakat. Aplikasi bahan organik berupa jerami padi sebagai mulsa dan kotoran ternak sebagai pupuk organik, NPK sebagai pupuk anorganik sering diterapkan dalam tanaman umur pendek. Adapun proses pelapukan bahan organik jelas terlihat cukup lambat dibandingkan pupuk anorganik dan tanaman sawi dipanen singkat 30 hari setelah tanam. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek residu mulsa jerami dengan jenis pupuk terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.) pada penanaman kedua. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Mei 2015. Bertempat di lahan petani di desa Sidera Kecamatan Sigi Biromaru Sulawesi Tengah.Percobaan lahan berupa bedengan (petak) dengan menggunakan Rancangan  Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri 1 faktor dengan 6 perlakuan. Perlakuan berupa P1= NPK      (45 g/petak) + Jerami padi 20 ton/ha (4,5 kg/petak), P2 = Pupuk kandang kambing 20 ton/ha       (4.5 kg/petak) + Jerami padi 20 ton/ha (4.5 kg/petak), P3=NPK 200 kg/ha (45 g/petak) + pupuk kandang kambing 20 ton /ha (4.5 kg/petak) + jerami padi 20 ton/ha (4.5 kg/petak), P4 = NPK      200 kg/ha (45 g/petak), P5 = Pupuk kandang kambing 20 ton /ha (4.5 kg/petak), P6 = NPK         200 kg/ha (45 g/petak) + pupuk kandang kambing 20 ton/ha (4.5 kg/petak) yang diulang sebanyak  3 kali sehingga terdapat 18 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan residu kombinasi mulsa dengan pemupukan lengkap (NPK+PK+Mulsa) pada tanaman sawi meningkatkan hasil dan pertumbuhan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya, selanjutnya residu pupuk kandang kambing pada penanaman kedua memberikan respon yang lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi dibandingkan dengan hanya pupuk NPK, dan residu penggunaan mulsa jerami memberikan respon lebih baik dibandingkan tanpa mulsa jerami terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi.

Abstract

Research goal is to know the income obtained by enterprise of chairs rattan on small medium enterprise of Sumber Rotan Tohiti Meubel at Palu City. The research conducted at Tanjung Manimbaya street. Analysis used was the income analysis of rattan chairs firm on small medium enterprise of Sumber Rotan Tohiti Meubel at Palu City, consists of 3 types of item of furniture that are Margin chairs desk, rilex chairs desk and sofa chairs desk. The results research showed that the total product income of 3 type of the furniture was Rp. 13.096.899.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out the strategy of Homes industry development of Chocolate in Palu located on Setia Budi street Eastern Palu Central Sulawesi. This research was carried out in April 2016. The respondents in this study were as much as 4 people consisting of 1 person of leadership, 1 employee and 2 consumers. Analysis tool used is the SWOT analysis. The results showed that, 1) Business Development Strategy of Brown paste can be applied to the Brown home industry by utilizing the entire force to seize and exploit the opportunities (S-O strategies). 2) Position quadrants are on one or on the position of the power strategy consists of three strategies, namely utilizing the original flavour of the cocoa beans in order to capture opportunities no similar products, utilizing fat as raw cocoa chocolate making in order to capture the opportunities of the opening of the market, continue to maintain and improve the quality of products and an experienced workforce in order to capture the presence of government programs.

Abstract

The research aimed to obtain the better concentration of liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of each cacao, compare the growth of cleft grafting seedling of Sul 1 and Sul 2 cacao clones and gain the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer which was better on the growth of early grafting cacao seedling. The research was conducted in December 2015 to February 2016 in Green House of Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University. The research used two-factor Randomized Block Design. The first factor was clone consisting of Sul 1 and Sul 2 clones. The second factor was the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer consisting of concentration of liquid organic fertilizer by 0.0%, concentration of liquid organic fertilizer by 0.25%, concentration of liquid organic fertilizer by 0.50%, and concentration of liquid organic fertilizer by 0.75%. The data were analyzed by using analysis of variance of median value test done with BNJ 5%. The research showed that the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer by 0.75% is better on Sul 1 clone. It was shown by more numerous and long shoots, more numerous and wide leaves and the more total chlorophyll. Mean while, the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer which is better for Sul 2 clone is the 0.50%.       it was shown by more numerous and long shoots, more numerous and wide leaves and the more total chlorophyll.

Abstract

This research aims to know the magnitude of the average income of the copra entrepreneurs and the magnitude of the income contribution of the copra entrepreneur to the KHL. This research was carried out in the village of Polewali, Bambalamotu subdistrict, Regency of North Mamuju, West Sulawesi province in December 2015. The respondents determination is done by a simple random sampling method, determining in the number of samples is done using the formula of slovin, respondents were taken in this research as much as 31 KK of 74 KK population numbers. This research is carried out by surveys, data collected in the form of primary and secondary data. The results of the analysis showed that the income earned of copra entrepreneur in the village      of Polewali is Rp. 10.561.780/four months and it is when averaged is Rp. 2.640.445/month.      The results of the analysis of contribution rate of necessities of worthy life (MOE) showed that the necessities of worthy life which have met the criteria based on Sinukaban is of 1.04 percent, the WORLD BANKS US $ 1 is 1,58%, and BPS is 1.05% whereas based on the criteria of the WORLD BANKS US $ 2 is 0.79%, and on the basis of 0.33% KHl and UMP West Sulawesi province is 0.37% so the revenue contribution by employers in the village of Polewali copra is not fully met the criteria of the necessities of worthy life of 1%.

Abstract

The high amount of sweet corn production in the village of Jaya Bulupountu does not guarantee the high income of the farmers, it is caused by other than the production input costs are high it is due to the price received by farmers maize is lower too than the price paid by consumers. The study aims know the amount of income earned by sweet corn farmer in the Jaya village sub district Bulupountu Biromaru Sigi. This study was conducted in the Bulupountu Jaya village Sigi Biromaru sub district in September until November, 2015. The determinant of respondent is done by simple random sampling method by taking as many as 30 respondents sweet corn growers from 90 families. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of income (p = TR - TC) and the results showed that the income of sweet corn farmer in the Bulupountu Jaya village Biromaru Sigi sub district was Rp. 10962.812/0.45 ha/MT or Rp. 243618.0/ha/planting season, with a total cost of Rp. 1.503.371.87/0.45 ha/MT or Rp. 334.159.71/ha/planting season. Abstract

This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Seed Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tadulako at the month of March-April 2016, with the aim is to assess the response of germination of some cultivars of upland rice on the different of pressure osmosik PEG (polyethylene glycol) are different, so as to obtain the viability of cultivars of upland rice best. This study was an experimental study compiled by two factors (factorial) using completely randomized design (CRD). The first factor is composed of five different cultivars. The second factor consisted of four treatments PEG 6000 by the difference pressure, ie without PEG = P0, P1 = -1 bar, P2 = -2 bar, and P3 = -3 bar. Thus there will be 16 treatment combinations, and each treatment was replicated four times, so overall there are 64 experimental units. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance (F-Test), if the results of analysis of variance show significant differences, it will be further tested honesnesty significant difference (HSD) at 5%. The results of this study was all the local upland rice varieties still have germinated response until -3 bar osmotic pressure. Tagolu cultivars and Tokalang were higher speed in the germination phase on several different osmotic pressure. Tokalang cultivars are varieties that are tolerant to drought and has the ability to germinate in response to normal even in a state reeling and has the highest average of several variables observation. The application of osmotic pressure in the form of PEG 6000 to -3 bar causing drought stress on the germination phase .
