This paper considers power domain based multiple access (PDMA) in cognitive radio network to serve numerous users who intend to multiple access to core network. In particular, we investigate the effect of signal combination scheme equipped at PDMA end-users as existence of direct link and relay link. This system model using relay scheme provides performance improvement on the outage probability of two PDMA end-users. We first propose a simple scheme of fixed power allocation to PDMA users who exhibit performance gap and fairness. Inspired by PDMA strategy, we then find signal to noise ratio (SNR) to detect separated signal for each user. In addition, the exact expressions of outage probability are derived in assumption that receiver can cancel out the interference completely with successive interference cancellation (SIC). By exploiting theoretical and simulation results, both considered combination schemes (Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) and Selection Combining (SC) can achieve improved performance of two PDMA users significantly.

The 21st-century skills needed to face the speed of understanding technology. Such as critical thinking in computer vision and robotics literacy, any student is hampered by the programming that is considered complicated. This study aims at the improvement of student embedded system programming competency with computer vision and mobile robotics integration approach. This method is proposed to attract the students to learn about embedded system programming by delivering integration between computer vision and robotics using the P-D controller since both of the fields are closely related. In this paper, the researcher described computer vision programming to get the data of captured images through the camera stream and then delivered the data into an embedded system to make the decision of robot movement. The output of this study is the improvement of a student’s ability to make an application to integrate a sensor system using a camera and the mobile robot running follow the line. The result of the test shows that the integration method between computer vision and robotics can improve the student’s programming comprehension by 40%. Based on the Feasibility test survey, it can be interpreted that from the whole assessment after being converted to qualitative data, all aspects of the learning stages of programming application tested with the integration of computer vision and robotics fall into the very feasible category for used with a percentage of feasibility by 77.44%.

In recent years, facial recognition has been a major problem in the field of computer vision, which has attracted lots of interest in previous years because of its use in different applications by different domains and image analysis. Which is based on the extraction of facial descriptors, it is a very important step in facial recognition. In this article, we compared robust methods (SIFT, PCA-SIFT, ASIFT and SURF) to extract relevant facial information with different facial posture variations (open and unopened mouth, glasses and no glasses, open and closed eyes). The simulation results show that the detector (SURF) is better than others at finding the similarity descriptor and calculation time. Our method is based on the normalization of vector descriptors and combined with the RANSAC algorithm to cancel outliers in order to calculate the Hessian matrix with the objective of reducing the calculation time. To validate our experience, we tested four facial images databases containing several modifications. The results of the simulation show that our method is more efficient than other detectors in terms of speed of recognition and determination of similar points between two images of the same face, one belonging to the base of the text and the other one to the base driven by different modifications. This method, which can be applied on a mobile platform to analyze the content of simple images, for example, to detect driver fatigue, human-machine interaction, human-robot. Using descriptors with properties important for good accuracy and real-time response.

Readiness and usability issues are important attributes of an information system (IS) success. Currently, IS studies that have been assessing the issues in suburban areas are still limited. The purpose of this study was to measure the above-mentioned phenomena by combining the readiness and usability models. The proposed model consisted out 10 constructs with 25 indicators. The four constructs were from the readiness model and the six ones were the usability model. The 89 samples were collected using an online survey based on purposive random sampling. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 3.2.8 was used for analyzing the data. The findings may have contributed to the IS research field, in terms of the readiness and usability issues on the IS use in a suburban area in Indonesia.

Website interactivity is increasingly essential for higher education institutions in maintaining their relationship with stakeholders. However, limited is known what the level interactivity of a university website is without comparing with other similar educational institutions. Through the use of website content analysis and benchmarking strategy, we evaluate 41 government university website for benchmarking purposes. Base on thirteen interactive criteria, we successfully benchmarked the government university websites and built a-five levels of websites interactivity with different features. Our study highlights that higher level interactivity of website contains more feature that support a two-way communication between university and consumers, while lower level of websites interactivity merely have basic features for communication. The findings suggest the highest level of websites interactivity, the more features they should have. More importantly, the findings suggest web developer to design more interactive features in developing a higher level of website interactivity.

Nowadays, software products have become an essential part of human life. To build software, developers must have a good understanding of the requirements of the software. However, software developers tend to jumpstart system construction without having a clear and detailed understanding of the requirements. The user story concept is one of the practices of the requirements elicitation. This paper aims to present the work conducted to develop an Android chatbot application to support the requirements elicitation activity in software engineering, making the work less time-consuming and structured even for users not accustomed to requirements engineering. The chatbot uses Nazief & Adriani stemming algorithm to pre-process the natural language it receives from the users and artificial mark-up language (AIML) as the knowledge base to process the bot’s responses. A preliminary acceptance test based on the technology acceptance model results in an 83.03% score for users’ behavioral intention to use.

Cognitive radio networks enable a more efficient use of the radioelectric spectrum through dynamic access. Decentralized cognitive radio networks have gained popularity due to their advantages over centralized networks. The purpose of this article is to propose the collaboration between secondary users for cognitive Wi-Fi networks, in the form of two multi-criteria decision-making algorithms known as TOPSIS and VIKOR and assess their performance in terms of the number of failed handoffs. The comparative analysis is established under four different scenarios, according to the service class and the traffic level, within the Wi-Fi frequency band. The results show the performance evaluation obtained through simulations and experimental measurements, where the VIKOR algorithm has a better performance in terms of failed handoffs under different scenarios and collaboration levels.

Global climate change is an issue that is enough to grab the attention of the world community. This is mainly because of the impact it has on human life. The impact that is felt also occurs in waters on the South Kalimantan region. This is of course can disrupt the productivity of fish in the marine waters of South Kalimantan. This study aims to make fish catch production prediction models based on climate change in the South Kalimantan Province because the amount of productivity of marine fish has fluctuated. This study uses climate data as input and fish production as output which is divided into two, namely training and testing data. Then the prediction is conducted using Backpropagation method combined with Particle Swarm Optimization method. The results of the study produced a prediction model with RMSE of 0.0909 with a combination of parameters used, namely, C1: 2, C2: 2, w: 0.7, learning rate: 0.5, Momentum: 0.1, Particles: 5, and epoch: 500. While the model used when predicting testing data produces RMSE of 0.1448.

Disruptive technologies, which are caused by the cellular evolution including the Internet of Things (IoT), have significantly contributed data traffic to the mobile telecommunication network in the era of Industry 4.0. These technologies cause erroneous predictions prompting mobile operators to upgrade their network, which leads to revenue loss. Besides, the inaccuracy of network prediction also creates a bottleneck problem that affects the performance of the telecommunication network, especially on the mobile backhaul. We propose a new technique to predict more accurate data traffic. This research used a univariate Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model combined with a new disruptive formula. Another model, called a disruptive formula, uses a judgmental approach based on four variables: Political, Economic, Social, Technological (PEST), cost, time to market, and market share. The disruptive formula amplifies the ARIMA calculation as a new combination formula from the judgmental and statistical approach. The results show that the disruptive formula combined with the ARIMA model has a low error in mobile data forecasting compared to the conventional ARIMA. The conventional ARIMA shows the average mobile data traffic to be 49.19 Mb/s and 156.93 Mb/s for the 3G and 4G, respectively; whereas the ARIMA with disruptive formula shows more optimized traffic, reaching 56.72 Mb/s and 199.73 Mb/s. The higher values in the ARIMA with disruptive formula are closest to the prediction of the mobile data forecast. This result suggests that the combination of statistical and computational approach provide more accurate prediction method for the mobile backhaul networks.

Internet of things (IoT) technology has found more applications that require complex computation while still preserving power. Embedded processors as the core of the IoT system approaches the need for computation by employing a parallel processor system, namely MPSoC. While various MPSoCs hardware is widely available, there is limited software support form of user-friendly libraries and development platform. There is a need for such a platform to facilitate both the study and development of parallel embedded software. arduino as the widely used embedded development platform is yet to officially support multicore programming. This work proposes an arduino-based development environment that supports multicore programming while maintaining arduino’s simple program structure, targeted at specific low-power MPSoC, the RUMPS401. The environment is fully functional, and while it targets only specific MPSoC, the proposed environment can easily be adopted to other MPSoCs with similar structures with minimal modification.
