Autonomous vehicle consists self-learning process consists recognizing environment, real time localization, path planning and motion tracking control. Path tracking is an important aspect on autonomous vehicle. The main purpose path tracking is the autonomous vehicle have an ability to follow the predefined path with zero steady state error. The non-linearity of the vehicle dynamic cause some difficulties in path tracking problems. This paper proposes a path tracking control for autonomous vehicle. The controller consists of a relationship between lateral error, longitudinal velocity, the heading error and the reference yaw rate. In addition, the yaw rate controller developed based on the vehicle and tyre model. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is demonstrated by a simulation.

Neovascularization is a new vessel in the retina beside the artery-venous. Neovascularization can appear on the optic disk and the entire surface of the retina. The retina categorized in Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (PDR) if it has neovascularization. PDR is a severe Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). An image classification system between normal and neovascularization is here presented. The classification using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model and classification method such as Support Vector Machine, k-Nearest Neighbor, Naïve Bayes classifier, Discriminant Analysis, and Decision Tree. By far, there are no data patches of neovascularization for the process of classification. Data consist of normal, New Vessel on the Disc (NVD) and New Vessel Elsewhere (NVE). Images are taken from 2 databases, MESSIDOR and Retina Image Bank. The patches are made from a manual crop on the image that has been marked by experts as neovascularization. The dataset consists of 100 data patches. The test results using three scenarios obtained a classification accuracy of 90%-100% with linear loss cross validation 0%-26.67%. The test performs using a single Graphical Processing Unit (GPU).

In the bid to bring about a solution to the nagging problem associated with the provision of ubiquitous broadband access, Next Generation Network (NGN) popularly referred to as Long Term Evolution (LTE) network with appropriate network integration technique is recommended as solution. Currently, Internet Protocol/Multi-Protocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) is the transport technique in LTE backbone infrastructure. This technique, however, suffers significantly in the event of failure of IP path resulting in delay and packet loss budgets across the network. The resultant effect is degradation in users’ quality of service (QoS) experience with real-time services. A competitive alternative is the Internet Protocol /Asynchronous Transfer Mode (IP/ATM). This transport technique provides great dynamism in the allocation of bandwidth and supports varying requests of multimedia connections with diverse QoS requirements. This paper, therefore, seeks to evaluate the performance of these two transport techniques in a bid to establish the extent to which the latter technique ameliorates the aforementioned challenges suffered by the previous technique. Results from the simulation show that the IP/ATM transport scheme is superior to the IP/MPLS scheme in terms of average bandwidth utilization, mean traffic drop and mean traffic delay in the ratio of 9.8, 8.7 and 1.0% respectively.

In the last decade, numerous researches in the field of electro-encephalo-graphy (EEG) and brain-computer-interface (BCI) have been accomplished. BCI has been developed to aid disabled/partially disabled people to efficiently communicate with the community. This paper presents a control tool using the Neurosky Mindwave headset, which detects brainwaves (voluntary blinks and attention) to form a brain-computer interface (BCI) by receiving the system signals from the frontal lobe. This paper proposed an alternative computer input device for those disabled people (who are physically challenged) rather than the conventional one. The work suggested to use two virtual keyboard designs. The conducted experiment revealed a significant result in developing user printing skills on PCs. Encouraging results (1.55-1.8 word per minute (WPM)) were obtained in this research in comparison to other studies.

One of the most promising mechanisms in the field of security and information safety is authentication based on palm vein. The main reasons that vein palm becomes an authentication method is because of its distinctive privacy, as it is difficult to manipulate or change its results, because of the location of the vein within the palm. With the use of this technology, it has become easy to maintain data from unauthorized access and unwanted persons. In this work proposed model are suggested that contain four stages to reach the results: in the first stage is the pre-processing stage where histogram equation was used to enhance the image and the properties are shown, the second stage is the extracting the properties where, Gabor filter and 2-discrete wavelet filters are suggested for features extraction, where it is considered one of the most important filters used to extract the features, as well as in the third stage "PCA" are used for data or features reduction, because of its advantages in analyzing the features and reducing the spacing between them. As for the last stage, the Euclidean distance used to measure the spacing. The results were acceptable and convincing, since the similarity ratio 96.2%. These results were obtained after several tests and using the Gabor filter with 2D-discrete wavelet transform and principal component analysis (PCA), I got the best results.

This paper presents a parallel energy-sharing control strategy for the application of fuel cell hybrid vehicles (FCHVs). The hybrid source discussed consists of a fuel cells (FCs) generator and energy storage units (ESUs) which composed by the battery and ultracapacitor (UC) modules. A direct current (DC) bus is used to interface between the energy sources and the electric vehicles (EV) propulsion system (loads). Energy sources are connected to the DC bus using of power electronics converters. A total of six control loops are designed in the supervisory system in order to regulate the DC bus voltage, control of current flow and to monitor the state of charge (SOC) of each energy storage device at the same time. Proportional plus integral (PI) controllers are employed to regulate the output from each control loop referring to their reference signals. The proposed energy control system is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. Results indicated that the proposed parallel energy-sharing control system is capable to provide a practical hybrid vehicle in respond to the vehicle traction response and avoids the FC and battery from overstressed at the same time.

Recently, extensive requirements have developed for ultra-wideband (UWB) technology that provides high activity and small size for use in small communication systems, remote sensing, and radar applications. Thus, we concentrated with high-resolution radar UWB antenna to cover Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) standard UWB range (3.1-10.6 GHz). The proposed ideal-size and low-cost finger-shaped patch antenna of 24 mm x 19 mm printed on 40 mm x 35 mm rectangular Taconic TLY-5 material was designed and established through experiments and simulations. Results show that the two cut notches of 1.5 mm x 2 mm at the bottom corners of the patch can increase the bandwidth. To increase the radiation area and achieve more resonance frequencies, two cut slots at the top edge of the patch were designed in depth of 10 mm. Four parameters were considered in the analysis of the proposed antenna design, namely the feeder width, number of slots, number of notches, and feed gap space. The simulated and measured results of the main antenna parameters make the design suitable in applications of UWB wireless systems.

This paper is under in-depth investigation due to suspicion of possible plagiarism on a high similarity indexAn accurate estimated fingerprint orientation fields is a significant step for detection of singular points. Gradient-based methods are frequently used for estimating orientation fields but those methods are sensitive to noise. Fingerprints that perfect quality are seldom. They may be corrupted and degraded due to impression conditions or variations on skin. Enhancement of ridge flows improved the structure of orientation fields and hence increased the number of true singular points thereby conducting the overall performance of the classification process. In this paper, we provided discussion on the technique and implementation to improve local ridge flows segmentation; secondly, identification of noise areas and marking; thirdly, estimation of fingerprint orientation fields using gradient-based method and finally, enhancement of ridge flows using minimum variance of the cross centre block direction in squared gradients. A standard fingerprint database is used for testing of proposed technique to verify the tier of effectivity of algorithm. The experimental results suggest that our enhanced algorithm achieves visibly better ridge flows compare to other methods.

Hydrophobicity is one of the importance factors in the surface properties of materials. This work presents the development of a low-cost contact angle measurement system based on goniometric measurement using a low-cost digital camera, tilt control system for surface alignment and curvature approximation algorithm to determine the contact angle between the solid and spherical cap of a water droplet. The design is specifically targeted for measuring the contact angle of a Quartz Crystal Microbalance sensor in the form of HC-49/U with a disc diameter of 8.7mm.The contact angle measurement using goniometric measurement depends on the quality of captured image and calculation method for the angle determination. Proper alignment of the sample surface is required to minimize the discrepancy of the angle measurement of water drop surface profile caused by gravity. A PIC18F4550 microcontroller is used to control the motorized tilt platform to reduce the discrepancy between left and right contact angle value. Circle fit algorithm to determine the contact angle value from the captured image is used. Using the motorized tilt control system and circle fit algorithm, the developed contact angle measurement system able to measure the contact angle with discrepancy less than 1O.
