Abstract

Polygamy remains one of the interesting key topics in various society, especially Indonesia. Polygamy is the act of marrying multiple spouses that means having more one wife at the same time, is common case in worldwide. In this problem, the most of Muslim in Indonesia adopt Islamic law that let men to do the polygamy with certain requirements. In worldwide communities, this has been a prominent feature and has become the subject of numerous books, heated debates, journal articles, discussion papers, and so on. Furthermore, in Indonesia the polygamous marriage has recently become a heated topic. Despite controversy, Indonesia’s law, of recent, allows people for doing polygamy in certain conditions. Because the polygamy is often debated, this study focuses on assessment of Indonesian’s perceptions through sentiment analysis and would determine people’s perception about polygamy issue from 500 tweets on Twitter. To conclude, it elucidates that the polygamy in Indonesia is a normal thing and few assume the case is as negative thing.

Abstract

This paper presents a smart and efficient car-parking detection system. The proposed system is comprised of two cameras connected to a mobile system that is devised with Arduino, four DC motors, and PIR sensor placed strategically to monitor parking space, especially within its painted rectangular lines of each parking lot. The mobile monitoring system is automatically responsive to any move they detected as vehicles within the parking space along the rows of parking lots. Once detected, the captured images are processed using the MATLAB software. Any improperly parked cars detected, the cameras will identify their plate numbers, and snap and record it in a database. The designed prototype of the proposed system was tested in five presumed cases. In each case, ten images were processed, thus 50 images were eventually obtained. Out of the 50 images, 48 images corresponded to correct detection whereas the other two images corresponded to wrong detection. Accordingly, the efficiency rate of the proposed smart car-parking monitoring system is 96%. This system offers suitable solution in assisting drivers to park properly within each parking lot and owners of parking area to keep it organized via remote monitoring system.

Abstract

Recently, the recognition of human hand gestures is becoming a valuable technology for various applications like sign language recognition, virtual games and robotics control, video surveillance, and home automation. Owing to the recent development of deep learning and its excellent performance, deep learning-based hand gesture recognition systems can provide promising results. However, accurate recognition of hand gestures remains a substantial challenge that faces most of the recently existing recognition systems. In this paper, convolutional neural networks (CNN) framework with multiple layers for accurate, effective, and less complex human hand gesture recognition has been proposed. Since the images of the infrared hand gestures can provide accurate gesture information through the low illumination environment, the proposed system is tested and evaluated on a database of hand-based near-infrared which including ten gesture poses. Extensive experiments prove that the proposed system provides excellent results of accuracy, precision, sensitivity (recall), and F1-score. Furthermore, a comparison with recently existing systems is reported.

Abstract

The state-of-the-art robust H∞ linear parameter-varying controller is designed for wide speed operating range for non-linear mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) in d-q reference frame for fully electric vehicle. This study propose polytopic approach using rotor speed as scheduling variable to reformulate mathematical model of PMSM into linear parameter varying (LPV) form. The weights were optimized for sensitivity and complementary sensitivity function. The simulation results illustrate fast tracking and enhanced performance of the proposed control technique over wide range of rotor speed. Moreover, as part of this work, the results of H∞ linear parameter varying controller is validated by comparing it with linear quadratic integrator and proportional integral derivative (PID) control techniques to show the effectiveness of the proposed control technique.

Abstract

Network reconfiguration (NR) is a powerful approach for power loss reduction in the distribution system. This paper presents a method of network reconfiguration using adaptive sunflower optimization (ASFO) to minimize power loss of the distribution system. ASFO is developed based on the original sunflower optimization (SFO) that is inspired from moving of sunflower to the sun. In ASFO, the mechanisms including pollination, survival and mortality mechanisms have been adjusted compared to the original SFO to fit with the network reconfiguration problem. The numerical results on the 14-node and 33-node systems have shown that ASFO outperforms to SFO for finding the optimal network configuration with greater success rate and better obtained solution quality. The comparison results with other previous approaches also indicate that ASFO has better performance than other methods in term of optimal network configuration. Thus, ASFO is a powerful method for the NR.

Abstract

Maximizing capacity of distributed generations (DGs) embed into distribution network is a solution to attract investment for DGs installation on the distribution system. This paper introduces a approach of optimizing location and capacity of DGs for maximizing DGs capacity and minimizing the system’s power loss based on cuckoo search algorithm (CSA). The proposed problem and method are simulated on two test systems including the 33-node and 69-node networks. The numerical results have demonstrated that the proposed method not only reduces power losses but also maximizes the power of DGs embed into the distribution network. The results also introduce that the proposed CSA method is better performance that some previous methods in terms of power loss and DGs capacity. The results obtained in many independent runs for two test systems indicate that CSA in one of the reliable methods for the DGs placement problems.

Abstract

In this paper, the gravitational search algorithm (GSA) is proposed as a method for controlling the opening and closing of airplane wing tires. The GSA is used to find the optimum proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, which controls the wing tires during take-off and landing. In addition, the GSA is suggested as an approach for overcoming the absence of the transfer function, which is usually required to design the optimum PID. The use of the GSA is expected to improve the system. Two of the most popular optimisation algorithms-the harmony search algorithm (HSA) and the particle swarm optimisation (PSO)-were used for the sake of comparison. Moreover, the GSA-, HSA- and PSO-based optimum PID controllers were compared with one of the most important PID tuning methods, the Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) method. In this study, the integral time absolute error (ITAE) was used as a fitness function. First, four transfer functions for different applications were used to compare the performance of the GSA-based PID (PID-GSA), HSA-based PID (PID-HSA), PSO-based PID (PID-PSO) and Ziegler-Nichols-based PID (PID-ZN). Next, the GSA was used to design the optimum PID controller for the opening and closing systems of the airplane wing tires. The results reveal that the GSA provides better outcomes in terms of ITAE when compared with the other adopted algorithms. Furthermore, the GSA demonstrates a fast and robust response to reference variation.

Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic sweeping the world and has rendered a large proportion of the workforce as they are unable to commute to work. This has resulted in employees and employers seeking alternative work arrangements, including the software industry. Then comes the need for the global market and international presence of many companies to implement the global virtual teams (GVTs). GVTs members are gradually engaged in globalized business environments across space, time and organizational boundaries via information and communication technologies. Despite the advancement of technology, the project managers are still facing many challenges in communication. Hense, to become a successful project manager still a big challenge for them. This study is trying to identify the critical success factors (CSFs) for software project manager. A literature review was conducted to identify the CSFs. Next, an online survry was conducted to rank those factors according to their propriety. An online survey was distributed among the software developers, project managers, and academicans. The statistical package for social science (SPSS) version 22 was used to analyze the data collection. Twelfth CSFs were identified in this study. Also, the findings indicated that leadership skills factor is the highest factor level ranking in this study.

Abstract

In this paper, a new image encryption algorithm based on chaotic cryptography was proposed. The proposed scheme was based on multiple stages of confusion and diffusion. The diffusion process was implemented twice, first, by permuting the pixels of the plain image by using an Arnold cat map and, the second time by permuting the plain image pixels via the proposed permutation algorithm. The confusion process was performed many times, by performing the XOR operation between the two resulted from permuted images, subtracted a random value from all pixels of the image, as well as by implementing the mix column on the resulted image, and by used the Lorenz key to obtain the encrypted image. The security analysis tests that used to exam the results of this encryption method were information entropy, key space analysis, correlation, histogram analysis UACI, and NPCR have shown that the suggested algorithm has been resistant against different types of attacks.

Abstract

While the remote phosphor structure is not an appropriate solution for WLED color uniformity, it is more advantageous for the luminous output of WLED than the conformal phosphor or in-cup phosphor structure. Acknowledging the ability of the remote phosphor structure, many studies have been carried out to surmount the color quality disadvantage of this structure. A dual-layer remote phosphor configuration is proposed in this research paper to acquire better color quality for WLEDs through heightening the color rendering index (CRI) and the color quality scale (CQS). The color temperature of the WLED packages this study is 8500 K. By inserting a layer of green CaSO4:Ce3+,Mn2+ or red LiLaO2:Eu3+ phosphor on the yellow YAG:Ce3+ phosphor layer, the phosphor structure configuration can be constructed. Then, to get the best color quality, the concentration of added phosphor LiLaO2:Eu3+ would be changed. The findings showed the rise of CRI and CQS along with the LiLaO2:Eu3+, which implies the influence of LiLaO2:Eu3+ to the growth of red light components within WLEDs packages. The greater the concentration of LiLaO2:Eu3+ is, the more the CRI and CQS increase. Meanwhile, the luminous flux gains from the green phosphor CaSO4:Ce3+,Mn2+. Nevertheless, the luminous flux and color quality would decrease if the concentrations of both red LiLaO2:Eu3+ and green CaSO4:Ce3+,Mn2+ phosphors reach a certain corresponding level. Centered on the Mie-scattering theory and the law of Lambert-Beer, this result is illustrated. The findings in this research are vital references for manufacturing WLEDs with higher white light performance.
