Journal of Educational, Health and Community Psychology
Journal of Educational, Health, and Community Psychology (JEHCP) published an article, and empirical study that have originality, novelty and fill the gap of knowledge, that focused on educational psychology, health psychology and community psychology. JEHCP is an open access peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes quality studies related to psychology. JEHCP is interdisciplinary in approach, and includes to reports of qualitative case studies, quantitative experiments and surveys, mixed method studies, action researches, meta-analyses, and discussions of conceptual and methodological issues. The field of educational psychology includes the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations, motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development involving areas such as problem solving, language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; self-concept and identity formation. The field of Health Psychology includes the stress-related ilnesses, the health coping strategy, resiliency, work on health attitudes and behaviour, health locus of control, quality of life in chronic disease, influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours, psychological interventions in health and disease as well as psychological aspects of prevention. The field of Community Psychology includes research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with human behavior in community settings. Articles of interest include descriptions and evaluations of service programs and projects, studies of youth, parenting, and family development, methodology and design for work in the community, the interaction of groups in the larger community, and criminals and corrections.

AbstractThis study examined the self theory of Carl Rogers in depth. There are some important concepts illuminated well, considering one's personality development. Its main focus was positive regard, self-worth and actualizing tendency, proposed by Rogers. To explain them in brief, positive regard was studied through self-image, ideal self and congruence. Self-worth is described as conditional and unconditional to cope with challenges in life, tolerate failures and sadness at times. Actualizing tendency was expounded into fully functioning or self-actualizing. These all concepts indicated that having a tendency on human behavior and concentrating on the capacity of individuals to think intentionally and soundly, to control their biological urges, are significantly main elements to evaluate one’s self. Therefore, in the humanistic perspective, individuals have the opportunity and will to change their states of mind and behavior. This study might be a guide to some certain aspect of self related studies for other researchers to benefit accordingly and also to develop a new scale related to self using Rogers’s theory.Keywords: Rogers, personality, self, positive regard, actualizing tendency

Abstract The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between adding value; trust and teacher satisfaction among primaryand secondary school teachers in Malaysia.In this research,375 teachers were selected based on convenience random sampling from teachers who study in educational field. This study is quantitative research and data were collected based on questionnaire and were analyzed using descriptive, correlation and regression analysis. Based on Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient the results show that the high significant relationship exists between trust and teacher job satisfaction. However, low and negative relationship was found to exist between adding value and teacher’s satisfaction. Regarding to multiple regression, there are significant contribution of trust and teacher satisfaction. However, just adding value was not increase teacherjob satisfaction. Key words: Adding value –Job Satisfaction -Trust -Primary school- Teachers-Malaysia.

AbstractJob satisfaction assumed as a one of the main factor amongst academic staff and placed as a basic inner feeling for them. Moreover, the purpose of present literature review was to brilliant the role of job satisfaction at university; also, illustrated this inner organizational feeling as a principle positive motivator amongst academic staff. Lack of consideration to the presence of job satisfaction creates numerous difficulties at university, low level of job satisfaction likewise emerges some insufficient behaviors and reactions among academic staff. In other word, the existence of job satisfaction as basic human needs can develop and support performance of academic staff and conduct their organizational behavior in the accurate way. In general, the current literature review focused on the key role of job satisfaction at university and mentioned its effectiveness on performance, behavior, and reactions of academic staff at educational system.Key Words:Job Satisfaction, Academic Staff, University, Educational System

AbstractThe problem, which an organization often faces, is the employees’ performance, which  results in ineffective organization. Commitment and compensation are factors affecting the employees’ performance. This research aims at empirically examining the role of commitment  and compensation of employees’ performance. The subjects of the research are permanent employees at Ahmad Dahlan University, having served for more than one year. The sampling technique is non-randomized. The method of collecting data uses commitment,compensation, and performance scales. The data are analyzed with multiple linear regression technique. The result shows that the organizational commitment and the compensation simultaneously predict the employees’ performance of (r)= 0,594 and the significance correlation coefficient of F reg. = 12.815 with p = 0,000 (p<0,01), which means there is a very significant positive correlation among organizational commitment and compensationsimultaneously with the performance of the employees of Ahmad Dahlan University.
