Abstract

Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler musik yang diadakan di sekolah bervariasi dan menyesuaikan kondisi sekolah. Salah satu yang cukup unik adalah pembelajaran Chinese Drum di SMP Budi Utama Yogyakarta, mayoritas siswanya merupakan keturunan etnis Tionghoa. Alat musik yang merupakan keluarga alat musik perkusi ini tergolong kurang familiar bagi anak sekolah. Bagi pengajarnya dibutuhkan media untuk kelancaran proses pembelajarannya. Desakan waktu penguasaan alat memicu gagasan untuk membuat metode pembelajarannya efektif dan efisien dengan menggunakan program komputer musik. Hal ini kemudian diteliti dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif berdasarkan pendekatan studi kasus. Proses pembelajaran Chinese Drum tersebut menggunakan metode Playing by ear dengan bantuan program komputer musik yang bernama Cubase. Penelitian ini menghasilkan suatu kesimpulan bahwa, program komputer musik Cubase dapat membantu guru dalam memberikan contoh permainan Chinese Drum kepada siswa melalui pengenalan ritmis secara bertahap dan mendukung dalam memberikan gambaran dari pertunjukan musik Chinese Drum secara keseluruhan.Kata kunci : Pembelajaran, Chinese Drum, Program Komputer Musik, SMP Budi Utama Yogyakarta.

Abstract

An orchestral performance management is very important to note the activist music. Where the orchestra is the incorporation of a wide range of instruments that include the type of string instruments, wind instruments, and percussion. In this case, the author raised about management performance of Surya Vista Orchestra. Surya Vista Orchestra stands on 23 January 1999 lead by Paulus Surya in Semarang. The background underlying the formation of a group of Surya Vista Orchestra is as pop music entertainment that can run in the music industry in Indonesia. But in practice the Surya Vista Orchestra can run its business properly and orderly. Writing this paper aims to provide knowledge for students or people who read this paper to find out how to manage a music performance. Management and structure in Surya Vista Orchestra is very simple because the orchestra leader had no formal education about management. In writing this paper is a descriptive study using the method of analysis is qualitative in which describes all valid data and then analyze the performance management of Surya Vista Orchestra. Abstract

Management as its driving force within an organization.The purpose of this writing is to introduce and to give an overview on the reader regarding the management of the orchestra in the body of the Surabaya Symphony Orchestra.This writing qualitative research methods with a management approach through the orchestra.The author is trying to describe some of the problems that exist in the body of Surabaya Symphony Orchestra Trough interviews with leaders of the organization of management used therein.In addition to interviewing the author also learn about Surabaya Symphony Orchestra through books.The conclusion that can be drawn from this is the writing of a large part of the success of the effort against a management run the vision and mission of the Surabaya Symphony Orchestra.Bring music to the people that their motto is one that is owned by the organization Surabaya Symphony Orchestra and which keep him standing still run vision and mission. Abstract

Karo tribe is a part of Batak tribes family which settled down in middle and west part of the Province of North Sumatra, Indonesia. The other tribes of  Batak tribes family are Angkola, Mandailing, Toba, Dairi/Pak-pak, dan Simalungun tribe. Like the other Indonesian traditional music, Karonese traditional music has a distinctive characteristic like the musical unsure and instrumentation. Karonese traditional music has a potential to be develop into another nuance or form. The work Tanah Karo Dalam Simfoni (Karo Land in Symphony) is a piece that combine the musical principles of western music, like form, harmony, and orchestration with the principles of Karonese traditional music like scale, ornamentation, and rhythm. This work has the symphony form that consist of three movements. The first movement has brilliance nuance in tempo Allegro, the second movement has sad nuance in tempo adagio, and third or last movement has happy and cheerful nuance with more Karonese traditional music influence in tempo allegro. Abstract

This Is War is a song popularized By 30 Seconds To Mars. This Is War is a progressive rock genre songs that lasted 5 minutes 27 seconds. Music can not be separated from elements outside the musical elements. lyrics of 30 Seconds To Mars talk about humanism and global social by using the concept of the philosophical literature. The song This Is War presented the semiotic signs, which is interesting to be correlated with the music in a study. Interpretation is the content of the science of hermeneutics. Interpretation of signs studied in the field of semiotics. Semiotic theory are used in the interpretation of the song This Is War is the theory of Charles Sanders Peirce Three Trichotomy. During the study of music and semiotics in Indonesia is still not prevalent. This study is a musicological study using descriptive analysis qualitative-interpretative through the lens of semiotics-hermeneutical. The purpose of this thesis describes the analysis and interpretation of the song transforms This Is War to be a reference study of semiotics-hermeneutical and musicologist who has been there, as well as opportunities for music outside the academic context has feasibility. The results of this study stated that the interpretation of the music is composed of the signs that are relevant in the context of the relevant musical and narrative life. Abstract

This article refers to the one of the repertoire presented by the author's undergraduate recital of Pop-Jazz, as the concept of study in the thesis of author, that song is Night Rhythm by Lee Ritenour. Issues discussed by utilizing musicological method in this article is about how the interpretation in the presentation of this repertoire with applying the principles of ensemble band. In this study, the interpretation of Night Rhythm song is supported by the application of the principles of ensemble band.Keyword: Interpretation, Ensambel band, Night Rhythm.

Abstract

Music has many genre and will continue to evolve over the course of human life. This paper will discuss the result of improvisation in jazz music. Improvisation is in ‘the heart’ of jazz music. Listening jazz music not only the ears but also with fellings. Miguel Zenon is a composer, arranger and saxophonist a famous scene in the jazz world. Perfume De Gardenias entrance in the album Alma Adentro : The Puerto Rican Song Book. Perfume De Gardenias is the result arrangement Miguel Zenon, original song created by a composer from Puerto Rico, Rafael Hernandez. This song researched by qualitative methods, has a lot of analysis original song form Perfume De Gardenias, analysis form and performing alto saxophone Miguel Zenon which has been arranged and analysis improvisation alto saxophone.The analysis was conducted on the song form and improvisation approach. Abstract

This study discusses the song interpretation of John Mayer’s work, the Gravity. The Mayer’s Gravity was performed as a part of the author’s academic final task recital in pop-jazz studies. Research method that is utilized in this study is the musicological method with performance interpretation approach that encompass practicing, performance, music analysis, and interpretation of the song lyric. This study concludes that the song is structured by a simple three part song form (AABA), and the lyric does not express a literal meaning but more symbolic with multiple understanding.   Keywords: Gravity, analysis, interpretation, Mayer.

Abstract

Trumpet is an important element in a big band arrangement, in this occasion trumpet present in any format and combo band brass section. Worship in Bethel Church Family of God in Yogyakarta using brass section format which will make worship becomes more colored and add to the solemn congregation. Function trumpet in the song arrangements "Ada Kuasa dalam Pujian" became one of the main goals for the author to review it. In this song played by 7 players and 5 players inflatable combo band, wind instruments such as saxophone soprano I, Alto Saxophone I, Alto Saxophone II, Trumpet I, Trumpet II, flugelhorn, trombone, while the band combo player Keyboard I, Keyboard II, Guitar , Bass Guitar, Drums. The song "Ada Kuasa dalam Pujian" in the form of songs categorized into two parts consisting of a number of bars A1B1B1 dengan AB 115 bars, using a fast tempo. In this arrangement organized into 9 sections which consist of the following elements: Introductions (intriduction), track (song), middle section (interlude) and the last section (coda). Allegro tempo used to form fusion-style. The analysis of the function of form this trumpet and the bridge is expected to stimulate the church musicians to be more active in managing the works of jazz in worship, especially the brass ensemble.   Key words: Trumpet, Brass Band, Arrangement

Tugas akhir ini adalah penerapan dari proses pembelajaran penulis tentang teori tangga nada/modus. Kata kunci: Penerapan tujuh tangga nada/modus.
