Abstract

Production control systems for multistage manufacturing processes can be classified into push type (MRP) and pull type (JIT) systems. MRP and JIT system has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, and the advantages of both systems can be exploited to achieve better performance. A relatively new research trend associated with the MRP and JIT is to explore the possibility of hybrid system and to develop model for the integrated system. So, the choice of a production philosophy by a manufacturing company is important. The key components of overall profitability are holding cost inventory, WIP, set-up time and cost for missing due date on costumer order. The optimum lot-size associated with those of the key component. This paper presents an optimal lot-size production and integrated hybrid system with movable junction point between a Push sub-system and a Pull sub-system in production line using simulation approach. Using ARENA ® simulation software this model could solve the problem. The result can achieve minimum production cost with production output level for push system of 79 to 82 unit, decreasing WIP from 85.81 hour to 84.165 hour per cycle and decreasing waiting time in works station 2 to 5.Keywords : Push/Pull System, Lot-size, WIP, Manufacturing System

Abstract

As we know that in the lokal train, sometimes we need information what station in front or already left. In this paper will be discussed about the design and the implementation of a lokal train station name displayer using microcontroller and LEDs. dot matrix. This display should be informative especially for new passengers or passenger who sleep during this travel and also for foreigners. This display will be place in parallel in every wagon near the door. To select the name of the stations is only by pressing the switch which is connected to every controller in the displayer.Keywords : station name displayer, microcontroller, dotmatrix display

Abstract

        In panels or components, there are holes for joinning with other part. There are two method for manufacturing a hole, i.e. by boring and molding processes. The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of hole manufacturing method on the tensile properties of hybride composite reinforced  chopped strand mat of E-glass fiber and woven roving fiber of plastic bag.         The materials in this research are plastic bag fiber, chopped strand mat of E-glass fiber (300 gr/m2), unsaturated polyester 157 BQTN-EX, and MEKPO hardener. The composite was made using press mold method, prepared with 4 laminates of glass fiber and 3 laminates of plastic bag fiber. The weight fraction fiber (Wf) of the composite was around 38%. The tensile test specimens were produced according to ASTM D 5766. In the middle of each specimen, there is a hole with 4, 6, or 8 mm in diameter. There are two types hole, i.e. holes were manufactured using boring  and molding process methods.         The result shows that the highest tensile strength of the composites occurs on the composite with 6 mm in diameter of hole manufactured by boring and molding process. It can be recommended that composite has the higher strength for 6 mm in diameter of hole for joining. The composites with 4 and 6 diameters of holes manufactured by molding process have higher tensile strength compared to that manufactured by boring process. In contrast, the tensile strength of the composite with 8 mm in diameter of hole produced by boring is higher than that of the composite with 8 mm in diameter of hole produced by molding process.Keywords : plastic bag fiber, E-glass fiber, molding process, boring.

Abstract

        Minimal Linux system is commonly used for special systems like router, gateway, Linux installer and diskless Linux system. Minimal Linux system is a Linux system that use a few facilities of all Linux capabilities. Mandrake Linux, as one of Linux distribution is able to perform minimal Linux system.         RAM is a computer resource that especially used as main memory. A  part of RAM’s function can be changed into disk called RAM disk. This RAM disk can be used to run the Linux system. This paper explains how the Mandrake Linux system can be run in a RAM disk. The RAM disk which is used to run Linux system is loaded at the moment of initialization of Linux system. This RAM disk is called initial RAM disk (initrd). The Linux kernel which support initrd and a boot loader are needed to develop this system. The initrd file system that content Linux root system is created in this research. This initrd file is loaded into the RAM disk  using a boot loader.        This experiment shows that the Linux system can be run in the RAM disk. The Linux system that can be run is minimal Linux system because of the RAM disk capacity limitation.Keywords : minimal Linux, RAM disk, initrd

Abstract

The double-pass solar collector with porous media in the lower channel provides a higher outlet temperature compared to conventional single-pass collector. Therefore, the thermal efficiency of the solar collector is higher. The solar collector can be used for wide variety of applications such as solar industrial process heat and solar drying of agricultural products. A theoretical model has been developed for the double-pass solar collector. An experimental setup has been designed and constructed. Comparison of the theoretical and the experimental results have been conducted. Such comparisons include the outlets temperatures and thermal efficiencies of the solar collector for various design and operating conditions. Close agreement has been obtained between the theoretical and experimental results.Keywords: double-pass solar collector, porous media, theoretical, experimental, efficiency.

Abstract

        This Research study how far the  concentration of carrier agent  influence to the dyeing result of  of poliester cloth  with dyestuff of Resolin Red FB.          Dyeing process conducted with Resolin Red FB 200% as a dyestuff and four kinds of carrier agent  that is metilnaftalena, difenil, triklorbenzena and ortofenilfenol with concentration of carrier  agent, from  2 g / l, 4 g / l, 6 g / l and 8 g / l. Hereinafter conducted by examination of colour leveling to the result of dyeing process.        The result show that concentration of carrier agent give an effect  to the leveling of colour,  that is consentration excelsior yielded the better of colour leveling. This research also get, that  triklorbenzena type  yield the older colour from orto fenilfenol, metilnaftalena and difenil type, with the optimum concentration reached by 6 g / l.Keyword : dispersion, polyester,carrier agent, levelling of colour

Abstract

Design of tooth profile for the big gear enough usually unlike small gear. Process of tooth making is different. The small gear, its tooth making use the machinery process by cutter module, while for the big gear is making to the casting process. One of the method able to be applied in big design gear by using coordinate system. Intention of design of diametrical tooth profile with the coordinate systems is to fulfill the big gear ordering requirement. This method is very benefit to all designer in industry because can be easier in big tooth profile making, so that can fulfill the customer needs. Form the tooth profile for spur gear of coordinate systems with the pressure angle 20 is very good and have sturdy at root tooth.
