Abstract

This Marginalization of seaweed farmers in Kampung Toyapakeh Village is a condition where local people who work as seaweed farmers don’t have the space and opportunity to do all their activities. The situation is caused by the development of tourism industry in the Kampung Toyapakeh Village because it has the potential of a stunning natural beauty. The problem studied in this research is about how the process of marginalization of seaweed farmers in coastal communities of Kampung Toyapakeh Village, then what causes the marginalization of seaweed farmers, and what impacts are caused. The hegemonic theory of Antonio Gramsci is used in analyzing the problems that occur. Gramsci states that hegemony is a chain of victory gained through consensus mechanisms rather than through oppression of other social classes. The findings show that in Kampung Toyapakeh Village there is a over land function and livelihood function. The government supports the development of tourism and community sectors are included in the development of tourism sector so that there is a shift of livelihood from the agricultural sector into the tourism sector. Abstract

ABSTRACT The changing of socio-economic condition of adolescents, the demands of economy, job opportunities, income, as well as the living environment are the background of teenagers (18-21 years old) experiences in job shift in Muncar, Banyuwangi. Working in the sector of the food industry and processing of fish, cause the less of intensive job in agricultural therefore  its open up housewives opportunity to work as a replacement of teenager labour  in the agricultural sector. The puspose of this study is to investigatc the job shift by the teenagers from agricultural to industrial sector and also to know the background of jobs shift from agriculture and the impact caused by the abandonment of the agricultural sector. This study uses qualitative method and case study approach, with interative analysis Miles and Huberman. The result shows that the long harvest time, the uncertain income, and farming as seasonal work, as well as the environment which in Muncar in industrial area of the teenagers job shifts. The job shifts done by the teenagers have made and impact over agricultural sector, in which it has been abandoned by the teenagers. The discontinuation of farming labour resulting less workers so its open up jobs for women the opportunities to replace sharecroppers in working at farmland. Max Weber’s theory of social action is used to analyze the result of the research especially in social action, value action, and affective action. Abstract

ABSTRACT Bali is one of the most famous tourism destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. The highly developed tourism sector of Bali has been able to attract entrants from everywhere around the world for various purposes either it’s pleasure, continuing education or also as an effort to support their family life as such done by migrants From East Sumba Regency in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) who gathered themselves in a community of East Suma called HIKMAST (Association of Families Matawai Amahu East Sumba) in Denpasar. Weak family life condition is the reason often found in addition to the lack of employment opportunity and wage inequality in the area of origin. This study use the qualitative descriptive method which aims to look at the driving reasons to migrate undertaken by migrants and the impact that is felt after migrating to Denpasar. In collecting the data, the authors use the technique of observation and semi-structured interviews that is also included in the category of in-depth interviews. Based on the research that has been done by using the theory of social action by Max Weber can be concluded that the migration has been able to support the migrants family life condition because it benefits various aspect such as economy, education, health, and psychological aspects of the migrants and their family. Abstract

This thesis is collected because of the religion conversion by some citizens of Petandakan Village and has been long time. In the long time of that process usually the pattern of relations between people which has different religions get dynamics experience. The dynamics relation sometimes has harmonious characteristic, but there is certainly leads to, jealousy, and even conflict. This research has a problem formulation (1) how the pattern of society interaction after religion conversion, (2) how the implication that happened in conversion society, (3) what is the meaning of religion conversion for Buddhist citizens. The discussion of this research found that the pattern of interaction between Hindu and Buddhist residents is associative and dissociative. While the post-conversion implications of Buddhist residents are they build temples and cemeteries, the lease system applies to people living in village, unequal inheritance division. Then the meaning of religious convention is Buddhists can run the dana, sila, dipa, and meditation to find the highest happiness in their lives. The conclusions from the results of interactions research that are associative and dissociative among the citizens, and also there are implications of a positive and negative and religious significance and social meaning that occurs in the adherents of Hinduism with Buddhism.
