The researcher uses linier trend method to analyze the trend and Granger causality approach. The results of the research show that the trend of international CPO prices tends to increase in 2008 and 2009. The causality analysis shows that international CPO prices causes domestic palm oil prices in Indonesia, but it is not vice versa. Abstract

This study is aimed to establish a more reliable measurement called Environmentally Friendly GRDP case of the forestry sector of Blora. The study is adopting the descriptive analytical approach by computing the depletion value of forest natural resources and the degradation value of the environment related to the forest cutting using primary and secondary data. Results of the study indicate that depreciation of forest resources were quite high (approximately 30% of the forest GRDP). So if depreciation of natural resources and environment is neglected and not accounted in the report of GRDP, in turns the sustainability of forest and the economy is in danger. It is therefore to be recommended that Green GRDP must be adopted and computed in order the Governement of each region of Indonesia are able to prepare a better plan and management of the natural resources for long term sustainbale development. Keywords: environmentally friendly GRDP, depletion, degradation, unit rent, benefit transfer

Abstract

The growth of productivity (yield) will be the major source of rice production in the next some few years to come. However, the development of rice productivity is facing the limited government budgets and the continuation of the conversion of land function. Therefore, the rice farming need to be conducted more efficiently. It means that the management skills of farmers need to be improved. The objective of the study is to estimate the levels of efficiency of rice farming in Kediri and Nganjuk of East Java Province and to see its distribution among farmers, using stochastic frontier production function. The results of the study are expected to help the policy makers in designing and improving the agricultural extension strategy. Keywords: efficiency, productivity, stochastic frontier production function, management skills.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify the determinants of foreign direct invest-ment (FDI) in OIC countries. In order to undertake it, we perform an econometric model based on panel data analysis for OIC countries, consisting of 16 Asian OIC countries and 18 African OIC for the 1980-2000 periods. Some estimated coefficients have the expected signs and are statically significant, such as market size and openness. The estimated negative sign on the variables exchange rate capturers the effect alters the price for acquiring assets in the OIC countries. In this case of OIC countries exchange rate also depict that the exchange rate regime is by no mean neutral to FDI. Furthermore, the variables consumption prices index (CPI) positive by effect FDI for African and all OIC countries. The government consumption of OIC countries was not significant suggesting that such factor does not play a role in at-tracting foreign investment. Finally, the more open economies in OIC countries were more attractive to foreign capital flows, as expected.Keyword: FDI, OIC, openness, panel data

Abstract

This paper attempt to examines the effects of the Ageing Population (AP) process on the public finance in Indonesia. As we know, Indonesia is one of the developing countries that experience the ageing population. In this case, the overlapping generation (OLG) framework is used to estimate the demographic transition and to simulate the effect of it to deficit budget. The results show that the aging process starts to kick in 2012. The ageing process has a significant impact to declining tax revenue and increasing government spending. They also show that the aging process puts an upward pressure on budget deficit. As a result Indonesia potentially faces a long-term threat to fiscal sustainability.
