Jurnal Siasat Bisnis (JSB) is a peer review journal published twice a year (January and July) by Management Development Centre (MDC)-Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Indonesia. JSB) addresses the broad area of management science and its applications in industry and business. It is particularly receptive to research relevant to the practice of management within the emerging regions and its effects beyond. It covers studies on how management work is done (descriptive) and/or should be done (normative) in diverse organisational forms, either in profit or non-profit firms, private or public sector institutions, or formal or informal social networks. We welcome qualitative studies with high-quality, rigorous methods, and strong impact on the field. Topics covered include, but not strictly limited to: 1. Business and management strategy 2. Abstract

Perubahan lingkungan kompetisi membuat fokus perkembangan teknologi dan besarnya peranan pemerintah di masing-masing negara menjadi berlainan. Negara-negara industri secara umum memfokuskan dan berlomba-lomba untuk mencapai batas-batas inovasi mereka, dan mencoba untuk memperbaiki sistem inovasi nasional. Disisi lain, negara-negara berkembang pada umumnya lebih fokus untuk mengadaptasikan teknologi yang ada secara lebih efektif.Pengamatan proses industrialisasi jelas tidak bisa mengabaikan arah perkembangan teknologi. Dengan demikian teori-teori mengenai teknologi menjadi sangat relevan kalau para peneliti mengenai industrialisasi ingin memperoleh gambaran yang baik mengenai proses-proses yang berlangsung. Ketertinggalan negara sedang berkembang dalam bidang ekonomi sebenarnya dapat ditelusuri dari ketertinggalan di bidang teknologi ini.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mencoba memberikan kerangka pikir bagi manajemen SDM terhadap perubahan lingkungan bisnis yang akan kita hadapi di masa yang akan datang. Walaupun harapan selalu mengarah kepada kesuksesan, tetapi angkatan kerja dan lingkungan kerja telah berubah secara radikal, sementara kebanyakan struktur kerja tidak berubah dengan cepat. Di dalam penulisan artikel ini, penulis mencoba mengajukan suatu visi mengenai hubungan kerja dengan fleksibilitas dan keinovativan, partnership, dan powersharing terhadap perubahan lingkungan bisnis serta tuntutan pekerjaan yang telah terjadi dewasa ini. Tujuannya adalah suatu lingkungan di mana semua anggota organisasi mempunyai sense of community dan sense of belonging.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the weak-form of the efficient market hypothesis on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). The weak form of the efficient market hypothesis asserts that the short-run future price movements of stock issue are approximately random in character: that is, there are independent of the past history of price movements. A market is efficient in the weak form sense if stock prices fully reflect the information implied by all past price movements. This study employ weekly closing prices of the 40 stocks selected from companies continuously listed on the second board of KLSE from the period July 1997 through December 2002. This period was separated into two sub-periods. The first sub-period is from July 1977 to December 1998 as the economic crisis period, and the second sub-period is from January 1999 to December 2002 as the post-crisis economic period. To examine the weak form efficient market hypothesis three models, i.e, serial correlations test, run test, and unit root test were used. The results showed that the weak form efficient market hypothesis is exhibited in the second board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange during and after the economic crisis period as well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi spiritual terhadap kinerja religius karyawan di kawasan industri Rungkut Surabaya (SIER). Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah (a) motivasi akidah, motivasi ibadah, motivasi muamalat berpengaruh secara serempak terhadap kinerja religius, (b) motivasi muamalat memiliki pengaruh dominan terhadap kinerja religius, (c) ada perbedaan kinerja karyawan operasional dan non operasional di Kawasan Industri Rungkut Surabaya (SIER). Subjek (sampel) dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan Kawasan Industri Rungkut Surabaya (SIER) berjumlah 110 orang (sampel). Metode penarikan sampel secara non probabilitis dengan purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui data primer dengan cara membagikan pertanyaan untuk ditanggapi dan melalui wawancara. Data sekunder yakni melalui catatan dan profil perusahaan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi berganda dan uji beda independent sample t test.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (a) motivasi spiritual: motivasi akidah, motivasi ibadah dan motivasi muamalat secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap kinerja religius, (b) motivasi muamalat memiliki pengaruh dominan terhadap kinerja religius, dan (c) tidak ada perbedaan kinerja religius antara karyawan operasional dan non operasional di Kawasan Industri Rungkut Surabaya (SIER)Kata kunci: motivasi spiritual, kinerja religius.

Abstract

Jensen (1986) said that the agency problem can be minimized by reducing the free cash flows in a company. These free cash flows can be reduced by increasing the debt or by increasing the dividend. This theory was developed in the United State of America in which most of the listed companies have a dispersed ownership structure. It is interesting to evaluate the effectiveness of this bonding mechanism for the listed companies in Jakarta Stock Exchange in which most of them have a concentrated ownership structure. The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of this bonding mechanism.By investigating the same sample of listed companies in Jakarta Stock Exchange in 1996 and in 2000, this research discovers that in 1996, the debt bonding mechanism is not effective to reduce an agency problem but it increases the agency problem instead. In 2000, the debt bonding mechanism is still not effective but it does not increase the agency problem anymore. Meanwhile, the dividend bonding mechanism is effective to reduce the agency problem both in 1996 and in 2000. However, the dividend bonding mechanism is avoided by the companies that have a family ownership that closed to a minimum portion of majority or domination.Kata Kunci: Agency Problem, Bonding, Hutang, Dividen, Kepemilikan Keluarga
