Abstract

The objective of this study to analyse the performance of banks before and after conducting Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) using a risk approach and how it affects the value of banking companies. Banking performance was analysed from three years before and three years after conducting mergers and acquisitions. To analyse the impact of banking mergers and acquisitions on company value, paired sample t-test and the fixed effect model (FEM) and Random Effect Model (REM) are utilised to test the research hypothesis. The results show that the banking performance after conducting M&A is decreased. This is demonstrated by the improvement in banking value and performance by using variables PBV, Tobin’s q, LDR and COMIN, which increase relatively after mergers and acquisitions, but the ability to generate profits, as measured by ROA is decreased. This is an implication of the combination of large assets that have not been used optimally to generate profits.

Abstract

This study aims to estimate the impact of monetary policy shocks on inflation, output, and exchange rates during the inflation-targeting period. The data analyzed are quarterly data covering the period 2005Q3 - 2020Q1. The analysis tool used is the Vector Error Correction model with the cointegration relationships between variables. The results show that there are variations in the impact of the monetary policy shock on the response of the variables in the model. Monetary policy shocks can explain the forecast error variance of policy interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, and output, respectively, with the largest to the smallest contribution. The characteristics of shocks are unexpected and unpredictable, resulting in variability and volatility of the variable responses. Therefore, reducing the impact of the monetary policy shock can improve the effectiveness of the monetary policy. Improving the effectiveness of monetary policy can be done with the support of the central bank's credibility.

Abstract

This study aims to review the support of work-life balance and work-from-home to work-family conflict. The research method was conducted through a survey of 110 employees from several cities in Indonesia. The Data obtained through the questionnaire was analyzed with the Structural Equation Modeling approach. The analysis tool used in this research is Lisrel. The research results found that work-from-home has an effect on work-life balance, and work-life balance can decrease work-family conflict. Furthermore, work-from-home is not able to directly decrease work-family conflict. The research found that work-family conflict can be indirectly controlled by work-fromhome through the mediation of work-life balance. The importance of work-life balance in mediating work-from-home and work-family conflict raises a mediation model that is a mediation model of work-life balance to decrease work-family conflict. This information is useful for companies in evaluating work-family conflict through the implementation of work-from-home.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of Financial Distress, Dividend Policy and RGECon Firm Value with EPS as the intervening variable. This research is explanatory in nature and employs a quantitative descriptive method. The data utilized was gathered from the annual financial reports of commercial banks in Indonesia from 2012 to 2018, with a sample size of 23 bank. The collected data was then analyzed using SEM (Structural Equation Model) and the PLS3 Program. According to the findings of this study, Financial Distress has no influence on firm value or Earningsper share (EPS). The dividend policy and the RGEC have a major impact on EPS. Firm Value is significantly influenced by RGEC and EPS. The connection between Dividend Policy and RGECon Firm Value can be mediated through EPS. Meanwhile, the EPS variable cannot mediate the influence of Financial Distress on Firm Value.

This study used panel data from 2010-2019 in 128 regencies/cities in the Java-Bali islands, and 382 regencies/cities outside Java-Bali region. Analysis using the STATA application with the analytical used is Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Access to electricity has a negative and significant effect on poverty while access to sanitation has a negative and insignificant effect on poverty in Java-Bali. The KUR program, access to clean water, GRDP, education and population have positive and significant impact on poverty in the Java-Bali region. The results of the analysis in areas outside Java-Bali suggest that GRDP has a positive but insignificant effect on poverty while the KUR Program, access to electricity, access to water, access to sanitation, education and population have significant and positive effect on poverty.
