Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving young papaya fruit extracts (Carica papaya L) in feed on growth and survival of Tilapia (Oreochromis nioticus). The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 (three) treatments. Treatment A feeding with the addition of papaya fruit extract 1 gr/kg, treatment B 1.5 gr/kg, and treatment C 2 gr/kg. The parameters observed were relative weight growth, survival and water quality. The results showed that feeding with the addition of young papaya fruit extracts gave a significant effect on the growth of tilapia seeds where the highest treatment was in treatment C (2 gr/kg) of 100.14% followed by treatment B (1.5 gr/kg) of 86.29% and treatment A (1 gr/kg) of 58.18%. Based on the results of follow-up tests between treatments given showed a significant difference between treatments. This means that the more extracts given are the better for increasing the growth of tilapia. The survival of tilapia seeds were 100% in each treatment. Water quality was in the range that can still be tolerated by Tilapia seeds. Keywords : Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), Carica papaya L, feed, growth.

Abstract

This reasearch aims to determine the formulation of flour and sago flour which is good and to know the effect of giving wheat flour and sago flour to the chemical quality of kamaboko Indonesian snakehead (Channa micropeltes). The benefits of the research as information about the right formulation and as information about the effect of giving wheat flour and sago flour to the chemical quality of Kamaboko Indonesian snakehead. This reasearch was conducted for 4 (four) months at Laboratory Processing of Fishery Product, Fisheries Department of Palangka Raya University. The data were collected based on the results of chemical testing, namely the test of moisture content, protein content, fat content, ash content and carbohydrate content. Based on the results of the chemical test, the best treatment determined by the effectiveness index method shows that treatment B (6% flour and 4% sago flour) is the best treatment because it has the highest value of 4.29. Keywords : Indonesian Snakehead (Channa micropeltes), kamaboko, wheat flour, sago flour, chemical quality.

Abstract

“Wadi” is a processed product from fish or meat, through the salting process and added with samu as a medium for the growth of lactic acid bacteria, then followed by a fermentation process for 3 to 5 days, resulting in a distinctive aroma and mild sour taste of fermented products. Processing “wadi” of Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) was done to find out whether Tambaqui can be made into a wadi with a distinctive taste. The results showed that the wadi of Tambaqui was highly favored by panelists with organoleptic value (taste) = 7.66 on the hedonic scale with attractive appearance criteria, wadi distinctive odor but not too stinging, consistency of compact flesh and savory taste and not salty, nutritional value as follows: moisture content 58.74 %; protein content 21.75%; and fat content 0.60%. Keywords : Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), “wadi”, organoleptic test, nutritional value.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the combination of biochar and organic fertilizer on the growth and production of Brachiaria decumbens on sandy soil and to find the combined dosage of biochar and organic fertilizers that give the best results for growth and production of Brachiaria decumbens on sandy soil. This research was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single treatment of various combinations of biochar and organic fertilizer (C) with 5 replications c0 = without biochar and organic fertilizer (control), c1 = 5 ton ha-1 biochar + 15 tons ton ha-1 organic fertilizer, c2 = 10 ton ha-1 biochar + 10 ton ha-1 organic fertilizer and c3 = 15 ton ha-1 biochar + 5 ton ha-1 organic fertilizer. The results of this research were that the combination dose of biochar and organic fertilizer had no effect on the number of Brachiaria decumbens grass seedlings aged 2 mst, 4 mst, 6 mst and 8 mst and plant height 2 mst, 4 mst and 6 mst but had a significant effect on height plants at the age of 8 mst and crop production as well as giving a combination of 10 research biochar + 10 research organic fertilizer gave the highest yield to 8 mst age plant height and crop production. Keywords : Brachiaria decumbens, organic fertilizer, biochar, production.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect that occurs when male and female broods are spawned artificially with ovaprim stimulants with different male ratio in each treatment and to know the survival rate of their larvae. The treatment used was ratio between female and male including A (1:1), B (1:2), C (1:3). The results of this study indicate that the use of sex ratio of different male fish did not significantly affect on latent time. Spawning using ovaprim and different male ratio shows a significant effect on the survival of pro larvae (D3 - D0). The highest pro larvae survival in treatment A was 83.33%, while the lowest percentage of survival in treatment C was 29.16%. The results of measurements of water quality parameters in the aquarium during the spawning and maintenance studies of the larvae of the fish showed values that were still within the normal range. Keywords : spawning, breeding ratio, climbing perch, survival, latent time.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an assessment of the capture fisheries sustainability in the river using multi-indicator analysis with the study area in the Katingan River, Kamipang District, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. The parameters of the capture fisheries sustainability indicators studied include ecological parameters, fishing activities, and socio-economic of fishermen communities. Ecological surveys were conducted to determine the condition of riparian plants, water quality (dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity), diversity of phytoplankton and macrobenthos. Information about fishing activities and socio-economic of fishermen communities were collected directly through interviewing fishermen with questionnaire assistance. 30 respondents were selected from all villages in Kamipang District. The sustainability status of capture fisheries is the combined value of all parameters assessed and weighted according to the important values of each parameter. The results showed that the capture fisheries sustainability in the Katingan River, Kamipang District was in a moderate condition with a score of 2.16 which means it was still sustainable but not in good condition. This study shows that the use of multi-indicator analysis for sustainability assessment of capture fisheries is able to provide an objective assessment of the inland fisheries, so that they can be used as a reference for management policy. Keywords : Katingan River, inland fisheries, sustainability indicator, multi-indicator, limited data.

Abstract

This study was aimed to analyze the productivity, influence factors of the catch and profit level of fishing business in gill net and trap net. This research was conducted for two month, in February-March 2018 with 4 sampling at Lake Marang, Marang Village, Bukit Batu Sub-District of Palangka Raya Municipality. The results of the research in Lake Marang indicated that the productivity of gill net fishing gear amounted to 8.67 Kg and trap net fishing gear amounted to 23.33 Kg in 2017. Based on the interviews with 10 fishermen as respondents, shows profit income of Rp. 4,212,000 per year, while relative profit business (Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C)) obtained average at 2. Analysis show that point of both fishing gears are eligible (value R/C >1). In a whole, income generally by gill net and trap net are enough to cover the expense of operational cost. Keywords : Business analyze, fishing gear, profit income, Revenue Cost Ratio.
