Abstract

Given edge weighted graph G (all weights are non-negative), The Degree Constrained Minimum Spanning Tree Problem is concerned with finding the minimum weight spanning tree T satisfying specified degree restrictions on the vertices. This problem arises naturally in communication networks where the degree of a vertex represents the number of line interfaces available at a terminal (center). The applications of the Degree Constrained Minimum Spanning Tree problems that may arise in real-life include: the design of telecommunication, transportation, and energy networks. It is also used as a subproblem in the design of networks for computer communication, transportation, sewage and plumbing. Since, apart from some trivial cases, the problem is computationally difficult (NP-complete), a number of heuristics have been proposed. In this paper we will discuss the modification of CW1 Algorithm that already proposed by Wamilia na and Caccetta (2003). The results on540 random table problems will be discussed.

Abstract

inclusion of the name of a university in a ranking system, especially at the top level according to a specific community is important and worth doing. The consideration, including the entry of a university in the list of top universities, is an excellent starting point for the world to recognize the existence of higher education, to boost the image of the university, will also improve promotion, especially in student acquisition and external support.   Webometrics is one of the world university ranking system that can be enjoyed by universities in Indonesia. Of the publication in July 2009 a total of 39 universities and the publication in January 2010 as many as 57 universities ranked 6000 Indonesia succeeded in the world. This ranking technique to calculate the accessibility of university websites and publications on google schoolar as the ranking parameter. However, Webometrics do not Rank  its based on a study program of higher education. Indonesia has more than 3000 universities which have an operating permit and each university has a study program. Objectivity in the performance of a university can be controlled through the data formulated academic activities through program Evaluation Based Self-Evaluation Study (EPSBED). EPSBED Data published to the public through the website http: \ \ evaluasi.or.id. whereas until now Indonesia has not had a rating system.   Case-Based Approach Computing Reasoning (CBR), combined with machine learning algorithms its Nearest Neighbor (NN) as the ranking methodology that uses data EPSBED, then the ranking of a university system may be based on their individual study program.

Abstract

Cloud computing are distributed processing, parallel processing and the development of grid computing, the concept was jointly proposed by Google and IBM in 2007. Cloud computing refers to a network that distributes processing power, applications, and large systems among many computers. Social media channels and many other applications use cloud computing as their platform. Cloud computing, the aim is to hide the complexity of IT infrastructure management from its users. At the same time, cloud computing platforms provide massive scalability, 99.999% reliability, high performance, and specifiable configurability. These capabilities are provided at relatively low costs compared to dedicated infrastructures. Cloud computing is a complex infrastructure of software, hardware, processing, and storage that is available as a service. This paper discuss regarding the study of the basic concepts of cloud computing technology, core technology, several different types of clouds services, target dimensionand challenges  of cloud computing in current and future.

Abstract

This research was done to analyze the characteristic of rainfall based the short term duration of rainfall data at BMG Maritim Lampung station, BMG Raden Inten II Bandar Lampung station, Masgar Tegineneng Climatology station and Kotabumi Geophysical station. From the results of the research intensity duration frequency (IDF) curve will be made based on: (1) Analysis of rain distribution frequency of short term rainfall data from each statios. (2) Analysis of rainfall intensity for every rain duration in particular measurement uses Van breen intensity method and Hasper der weduwen intensity method then least square (kuadrat kecil) is used to calculate rainfall intensity approach by Talbot, Sherman and Ishiguro formula’s, the purpose is to determine the equality of rainfall intensity to targeted region. From the result of the research, it could be summarized as follows ;(1) The data of rainfall used is short term rainfall data (5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 120 minutes, 3 hours, 6 hours and 12 hours) and as annual maximum series, (2) Type of distribution that appropriate with all observation station is Log Pearson Type III Distribution, (3) The rainfall intensity of Van Breen method used Talbot equality, it is used as reference to form IDF curve. The intensity equality was valid only to data of rain in all observation year at every station. (4) The IDF Curve showed that high rainfall intensity happen in short duration (5) the IDF curve can be used to determine planning flood by using rational method.

Abstract

Indonesia as the biggest archipelago country and situated in equator is very vulnerable to the adverse effect of climate change. There are two main categories of efforts to handle the issues in climate change; that are how to mitigate it and how to adapt to the change. One of the main culprits of climate change is the emission of carbon gas due to fossil fuel energy utilization contributing 302 million tonnes CO2 equivalent.President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2009 in the G-20 Meeting, Pittsburgh, USA, and in 2010 in COP 15 UNFCCC, Copenhagen, Denmark issued the national voluntary target to reduce greenhouse gas emission by year 2020 as much as 26% from business-as-usual by national domestic efforts. This emission reduction will further be improved as much as 41% from business-as-usual by international supports. The Government of Indonesia issued a national action plan to reduce greenhouse gases emission which is enforced by Presidential Regulation No. 61/2011. To achieve this target in energy sector,REFF-Burn (Reducing Emission from Fossil Fuel Burning) concept has been proposed by Sumiarso. Based on REFF-Burn Technology Portfolio, reducing emission from fossil-fuel burning is categorized in three different stages, which are pre-combustion, during combustion and post-combustion. In pre-combustion stage, utilization of clean energy is one of the wise choices. The perspective of the clean energy resources and utilization in Indonesia is discussed in this paper.
