Abstract

Design cross section of wind turbine blades with airfoil cross-section can be made from a mathematical approach. The mathematical formula was discussed for airfoil shape from Joukowsky equation, that was developed by Nikolai Zhukovsky Egorovich. The problems would appear if used the Joukowsky equation settlement for design with manual, it could take a long time. The problem solving for the mathematical could use graphic user interfaces (GUI) program and the design for implementation could use computer aided design (CAD) program. The Joukowsky transformation was performed by conformal mapping through the transformation of a complex function from one coordinate system to another, which circle shape was transformed to airfoil shape. Ideal airfoil shape was obtained with observed of the transformation radius and center of the circle.

Abstract

In many clustering systems many methods was used to cluter-ization, one of which is the SOM (Self Organizing Maps). In our study we used two approaches. The first approach was a lawyer-cluster's using SOM-RBF used in the training data and could be expected to result in better cluster. And the second approach clustering was used of SOM.Comparison of both methods is based on the application of the data derived from the dataset movielens.org site. Comparative assessment using three scenarios, namely the MSE as a stop condition on the running time, the MSE as the stop condition of the epoch and the learning rate, and MSE as the stop condition of the actual value of the MSE. With this running time is detected which is more rapid approach to the time span for extracting training data. Based on the results of experiments performed using 500 data, which is applied to clusters 3 and 4 lead to the conclusion that the first approach has the value of MSE is actually closer to the absolute value of MSE as compared to the second approach.

Abstract

Statistical process control (SPC) is a method of monitoring the production process with the goal of maintaining product quality during the production process. Thus, once the problems (variables)have resulted, the repair process can be immediately identified and carried out.However, in some cases, the application of SPC is not maximized. This was caused by the lack of a systematic procedure that was usedto guide the operator in applying statistical process control. Therefore, this study offers a systematic procedure to guide the operator in applying SPC. Systematic procedure is performed with the literature study and direct observation in manufacturing companies. In order to apply statistical process control, several statistical tools are accommodated according to their needs and objectives. Thus,it results systematic application of SPC procedure which consists of 15 steps and is divided into two concepts.Indicator is applied to determine the systematic procedure to qualify whether the test is applicable and can improve the ability of the process. Definition of applicable is able to guide the operator in applying SPC and stabilize the process. Systematic procedure have undergone testing at the casting factory. Systematic procedures otherwise applicable and may improve the ability of the improved process.
