Abstract

The objective of the research is to know and analyze the effect of workload, working environment, and social support toward burnout of librarian at Mataram City. Respondents of this research were 76 librarian of public library at Mataram City. The data was analyzed using multyple linear regression. The result of this research indicates that workload have partially positive and significant effect toward burnout of librarian, instead working environment and social support have partially negative and significant effect toward burnout of librarian. Workload, working environment, and social support have simultantly significant effect toward burnout of librarian at Mataram City. The result of this research is expected to provide input and information for management of public library at Mataram City in order to making decision to decrease burnout level of librarian.

Abstract

Academic library, as an information media to support learning process, is supposed to provide collections that users need. The current study is a descriptive research with using qualitative approach. As the research instrument, an interview guide was made in order to get neccassary data. The focus of study is user satisfaction on digital library information systems at the UIN Sunan Kalijga library, Yogyakarta. The research findings shows that user expectation or the succeed users in using its digital system was higher than failure level in usage. Therefore, the digital library information systems has been working properly.

Abstract

One of mediums that a researcher might use to publish his or her papers is through scientific journals. Different with others information tools such as book, scientific journal is a serial publishing in which it is always published periodically and determined by its publishers. All articles within a journal usually should be peer-reviewed before they were published. It made journals containing such quality works compared with other works. The current study is aimed to survey UIN Alauddin lecturers’ perception on UIN Alauddin’s electronic journals. The number of research sample was 54 participants vary from all departments in its campus. The survey found that there were as many as 31 scientific journals being published throughout the site (even though some still remained empty with an article). Meanwhile, based on the participants survey, the existence of its electronic journals has good responses. In terms of its views, organizing, and socialization needed to be enhanced.

Abstract

Academic library has provided a variety of services. Its services are maintained for the end-users. The best servies are considered to all academic libraries around the world. The current study is an associative research and using quantitave approach to measure. The location of the study is in STIKE Mega Rezk Makassar library. The number of population was 926 users with the sample of the respondents were 255. The respondents were gathered by using proportianete stratified random sampling technique. The data was analysed with IBM SPSS v19. The study found that the library services were in good category with score 78,73% while users’ interest was in high category with score 79,05%. It has indeed 0,648 relationship between the library services and the library visit interest.

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) has been undoubtly applied in all fields of life. It provides variety of services in which it is dependent on user needs. The Kantor Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah (the District Library and Archieve of Pangkep) has been implementing ICT to enhance its services to the citizens of Pangkep. INSLISLite was choosen as its automted library system. The current study investigates how INLIS lite has been implemented in the library, what were the challanges the library faced, and the floating library services of KPAD. The data were collected throughout the representative informans. The study found that INLIS lite needed to be more optimized, the challenges were human resources and budgetary, and the floating library has played important roles to educate the Pangkep island citizens.

Abstract

The damaged of library collections must be concerned by all type of libraries. It always occured in library, particularly in school libraries. The study will investigate factors that damaged library collections and ways to solve such a case in the library of SMP 4 Sungguminasa, Gowa (a secondary school located in Gowa, South Sulawesi). The data were gathred through direct observations and interviews with staf in the library. The study found that there were kinds of damaged of library collection, which were 1) caused by studens, 2) caused by floods, and 3) caused by insects. In terms of its preservation, the library have some solutions which were 1) determining strict penalties for the library users who have damaged the collections, 2) binding library materials, 3) setting the library room, 4) maka a report to the school authoritative to care of library school, 5) cleaning routinely the library shelves.

Abstract

A school library plays important roles to support education learning-process in school. However, many school libraries in fact lack of aware its roles. The most reason why it happened due to lack of understanding how to organize a school library. The current study investigates one of Islamic High School libraries in Makassar, which is Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Makassar. Based on the pre-observation, it is shown that there was a significant role done by its school librarians. The data is collected throughout interviews with the chief of school, students, and some teachers as well. The result findings depicted that school librarians have optimally played their roles as school librarians. However, it remains some barriers such as less aware from the school authoritative, collections, budget, and facilities.

Abstract

American Corner merupakan salah satu bentuk layanan yang ada di Perpustakaan UNHAS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi pemustaka terhadap layanan American Corner di Perpustakaan UNHAS. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah pemustaka layanan American Corner. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui: (1) wawancara, (2) observasi, (3) dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam bentuk reduksi data, penyajian data (data display), dan menarik kesimpulan/verifikasi untuk memperoleh hasil akhir.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Persepsi pemustaka terhadap pelayanan American Corner di Perpustakaan UNHAS  sangat baik, layanan yang terdapat pada American Corner membuat pemustaka nyaman berkunjung. (2) Persepsi pemustaka terhadap koleksi American Corner di Perpustakaan Pusat Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar ditanggapi baik oleh pemustaka. Segala hal yang berkaitan dengan koleksi American Corner membuat pemustaka senang berkunjung.
