Abstract

The objective of research was to reveal that what context, input, process and product were in relation to promotion mix in Library Technical Service Unit (UPT Perpustakaan of ISI Surakarta). This research was intended to find out whether or not the condition of context, input, process and product in promotion mi was consistent with CIPP Norm. This study was conducted in Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) of Surakarta. The research methodology applied was evaluation one using CIPP (Context, Input, Process and Product) evaluation model. Data of Context, Input, Process and Product was collected using qualitative approach. The user’s response to product produced was confirmed with quantitative data collected through distributing questionnaire to 97 respondents. The informants consisted of librarians, IT (Information Technology) centre staffs, studentsand lecturers. There were three types of promotion mix was conducted by Library of Surakarta ISI: user education, Book Exhibition, and Internet. The result of research showed that the implementation of program has been consistent with expectation. The result of research was expected to be used as reference in new promotion program plan in the next period

Abstract

Z39.50 is an international standard client–server, application layer communications protocol for searching and retrieving information from a database over a TCP/IP computer network. The current study is focused on how the Z39.50 fiture at SLiMS being used by the FAH library staff. The purposes of the study are divided into two which are (1) to know library staf’s perception on the fiture, and (2) to know the difficulties faced by the staf to do copy cataloging from the Library of Congress server. The data was gathered through the library staf experiences and being qualitatively analysed. The study found that the library has been using Z39.50 protocol to copy cataloging English book collections from the Library of Congress server since 2015. Although it makes easier the library to catalog, but some fields need to be edited by the library staf

Abstract

In today era, there is a change of paradigm in organizing library in which a library is supposed to provide Web 2.0. In fact, its kind of service is used only for a medium to inform and promote library in general. To optimilize its Web 2.0 within the library, it is therefore the library needs to think of library services innovation. Reference service as a part of library must be playing an important role to optimize its service, or in the other words, they might think innovatively. With the growing rapid of usage os sosial media, the service should be worked in online. There are many sosial media today. The current study is aimed to discover the implementation of Web 2.0 in Indonesia

Abstract

National energy crisis is the biggest challenge that needs to be addressed through research activities in order to produce innovative technologies. While research products that have created will affect to the growth of scientific publications. ScienceDirect is one of reputable source of knowledge that also accommodates the national of energy research products. So its was revealed interesting in order measure the progress of science in Indonesia. Bibliometric evaluations used to determine product research capacity, scientists membership, and national territory champions. During 2006-2015 the performance of national scientists in international energy research collected in 18 scientific journals with of 322 articles results. Indonesia has the highest achievement through performance of scientists that majority affiliated with academic and government. Besides contributing independently, scientists also produces research work collaboratively reached 91.19%. The number of collaborative greatly affect to the national capability and demonstrates the expertise of Indonesia in leading of energy research cooperation. Moreover, there are many countries in four continents have participated and affect to the image of Indonesia in global arena. There are five island areas nationwide based on geographical expansion of institutions and researchers on the island of Java has participate significantly.

Abstract

Teachers do have teaching education backgrounds, but many of them worked as library chief as well even though they do not posses librarianship background. All participants (library school chief candidates) do not have such a background. Hence, the study will research on it. The workshop held by Balai Diklat Keagamaan Semarang is aimed to add librarianship insights for all participants. All parcipants were given pre-test and post-test. From the pre-tes, it is found that 35% were low and 60% were in the middle, while the rest were high. Meanwhile, from the post-test the lowest was 0%, middle was 70%, and the highest was 30% respectively. The workshop is a proper medium to enhance competency for all candidates. It is shown that from the result findings that the knowledge of librarianship was significantly improved

Abstract

One should concern in how to keep an organization keeps balanced is depending on its human resources. Humanbeings can make an organization effectively works, and might design all operational works, till to produce value things, to control its quality measurments, to promote, in which above all is to achiece the organization goals. Having such a quality person within an organization might lead to success. The current study investigates Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and McClelland’s human motivation theroy that being used in many organization around the globe, including library. The study is a library research in which it will discover the impact of the theories within library as an information institution that worked human resources to establish.

Abstract

The main problem of scientific journals development among Islamic colleges, both PTKIN and PTKIS, is a matter of managerial capacity or management of a scientific journal. During this time, it iss recognized that the spirit of journal publishing is high, but it ss not followed by managerial skills. It means there were a lot of publishing institutions that publish scientific journals but could not continue well, therefore these published journals considered as only a memorial thing and introduction, moreover there is an obligation to publish an online journal and accreditation instrument that also conducted by online through the portal of ARJUNA DIKTI that becomes opportunity and challenge for managers of scientific journals in the colleges both human resources and infrastructure. This article tries to answer how the position, potention and opportunities PTKIN’s journals in the online journal era

Abstract

The advent of information technology, internet and social media are able to change the behavior of human beings in socializing and communicating. Communication without control in social media cause in advent a variety of crimes for example cyberbullying. Teenagers are accounted for the highest percentage as perpetrators or victims of cyberbullying on social media especially facebook. This article describes the phenomenon of cyberbullying in adolescence in social media facebook with some cases that occur in Indonesia. This article also describes the impact of cyberbullying for teens and solutions of cyberbullying and introduce ethics in using social media
