Abstract

The quality is an important thing that should be mentioned because related to the customer satisfaction. PT ASKI challenge an enourmous on  painting quality. The average of rejection from the painting process output reached 21,29% in 2014. An improvement of quality should be done to increase the product quality. To solve the quality problem, 8 steps of PDCA (plan-do-check-action) were chosen. The result of  improvement  activities were not always giving a positive result, but still working as the guidence to do the next improvement activity.

Abstract

The breakdown machines in the production process at PT. X especially in the Material Mixture Division are occurred quite often. During January to February 2015, those machines 23 times (22.5%) are breakdowns. Therefore, the objective of this research is to design the right maintenance strategy in particularly for machines which have longest downtime. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) with Dempster-Shafer approach is used to solve this problem, since the company does not have historical data. As the results, replacement and condition based maintenance are chosen. Those strategies are the most appropraite and possible ones strategies to be applied in PT. X.

Abstract

PT A is a manufacturing company which produces consumer goods. Transportation Department wants to standardize the process and information flow by eliminating waste. This research is using Value Steam Mapping (VSM) tool. There are 3 types of waste that are identified in Transportation Department which are overprocessing waste, waiting waste, and defect waste. Improvement suggestion for each waste will impact the next process and hence will reduce the total process time. The result shows the improvement can reduce total lead time by 0,05 % or 56,01 minutes for own truck and 1,10 % or 15,81 hours for trip-based truck distribution everyday.

Abstract

PT. ABC would like to know the effectiveness of each production machines. The company wants to calculate the effectiveness of each production machines everyday, so that can be evaluated monthly. Therefore, this project is conducted to design the tools for calculating the level of machines effectiveness using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Result of data processing shown that the average of effectiveness for all moulding machines is 43%. The quality indicator  became one of the causes of the low value of the average OEE for moulding machines. The ways to increase quality indicator are to make an additional tools on bandsaw machine, grouping the timber at unstacking on KD process, and to increase the operator’s utility when downtime occurs. After implementating, the OEE  becomes 45%. The tools for calculating the OEE are also designed for the company. Those are moulding production data form, OEE calculator, and OEE calculation module.

Abstract

Relay is one of several products that is produced by PT. Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam. The biggest reject in relay is operating voltage reject (5.18%). Relay’s operating voltage is related to the movement of armature to ferrite core, and moving terminal to fixed terminal. The movement is measured undirrectly by four characteristics in relay product. They are flatness, height, length, and allignment. The problem is operating voltage reject is still occured in relay product eventhough the four characteristics are within specification limit. Those characteristic are analyzed with linear regression in order to know the correlation between each characteristic with operating voltage. There are only three characteristics that have correlation with operating voltage. New spesification limit for each characteristic which is correlated with operating voltage is searched. Wilcoxon test is used as a tools to find the new spesification limit. The final result is operating voltage can be decreased by 4.88%.

Abstract

The value of spare part inventory in company is high because there are so many non moving spare part. The purpose of this research is to reduce spare part inventory by ditributing questionnaires about spare parts status And analyzing the amount of inventory and creating a form of PR and purchase history. Status of spare part is divided into three kinds, they are status A, status B, and status C. Status A is intended for spare parts that are still in use, status B is intended for spare parts that are not used anymore, and status C is intended for spare parts that have been damaged. Status A is analyzed from the economic side of inventory amount to decide whether it should be kept or written off. Form PR and purchase history is made to help facilitate the recording of purchases of spare parts. The results shows through write off can reduce inventory amount up to 4,57% dan the value of inventory decreased up to Rp 216,432,253.00. The result also shows the analyze of inventory amount can save the cost up to Rp. 8,592,063.00 for Electrical Maintenance Department’s spare part.

Abstract

PT. Teno Tract Indonesia, a foundation piling company, had dealt with many type of building construction for private sector, and now wants to get government projects. However, the government requires that PT Teno Tract Indonesia has ISO certificate. Hence, PT. Teno Tract Indonesia planned and prepared to implement quality management system based on ISO 9001:2008. PT. Teno Tract Indonesia also want to increase customer satisfication and improve management system. Three stages to get ISO 9001: 2008 certificate are planning stage, implementation stage and also scoring stage. Planning stage consists of mapping, identification, and documentation. The second stage is quality management system implementation. The last stage is scoring via internal audit. Audit has to be done to know compability of system that has been run based on standard requirements of ISO 9001 : 2008.  Based on internal audit simulation, PT Teno Tract Indonesia has been ready to submit the papers to get ISO certification.

Abstract

The effort to reach zero accident in PT. Sari Mas Permai is by applying SMK3 (Occupational Safety and Health Management System). The first step was by making a HIRARC document (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) based on OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. HIRARC document is useful for every worker to know more about dangers and risks that exist in the working area, so every worker will be able to realize the importance of working safety and health and apply the risks control regularly. Hence the zero accident target will be accomplished. We used proactive technique in which the dangers are knowing before happened. The result of the analysis shows that risk control in PT. Sari Mas Permai has been successful to decrease high hazard by 32%, but there are 25 working activities in the 3rd plant with high and the medium risks, so risk control should be applied continuously.

Abstract

PT. X is a industrial machinery company who supply their products to other companies of PT. X parent company. PT. X is currently experiencing major problems in terms of overload capacity and loading estimates are less accurate. This study aims to resolve both of these issues, which can lower the actual loading and improve the accuracy of loading estimation. Repairs carried out by estimating the reduction in loading by reducing the categories of working hours of others. A decrease in working hours of others are able to lower the actual loading is estimated at 24.23% in 2014 and 19.64% in 2015. The real proposal given itself are focus on improvement in the design department. Estimates loading then also carried out after fixing the actual loading conditions. Estimates loading at PT. X itself are having a great error when compared with the actual loading of existing, which amounted to 62.84% in 2014. Improvements loading estimation is done by using optimized manhour quota where uncertainty weight is the most important thing to its result. The resulting error rate amounted to 32.23% for the project loading, 9:48% for the total loading, and 6.78% for the total loading with repairs.

Abstract

Abstract: Bondi Syad Mulia is a company which offer the hot dip galvanizing services. Data of disability during the month of April showed that the number of defects that occurred amounted to 12.71%. The aim of this study is to provide a proposal to decrease the number of defects that occur in galvanizing products. There are four (4) types of disability to be studied are bare spots, delamination, welding blowouts, and drainage spikes. Efforts to reduce the level of disability is done by following the steps DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Tools that are used to manage and analyze data is check sheet, pareto chart and fishbone diagrams. Proposed improvements given the company is to make work instructions and records of operators who perform the oven; conduct inspections to check the levels of aluminum in the kettle fluxing by using the inspection form; checking the finished iron or steel in sand blasting and keep records regarding the results obtained in the form of checking; as well as the addition to the initial inspection to check initial thickness and welding conditions on iron or steel. Keywords: Quality, DMAIC, Checksheet, Pareto charts, Fishbone diagrams.
