This paper discusses the abnormality in dandori process and improvements to overcome it. Dandori is a process of changing mold or material during the production. Lately, dandori process at PT. Astra Otoparts Tbk. still experienced abnormality such as material unreadiness, lack of facilities and infrastructure, and long barrel washing process. This research aims to reduce the preparation time and processing time of dandori and line stop. Quality control circle was used as the main method to design the improvements. Improvements are supported by some work standardizations for maintaining continuous improvements. The implementation of the improvements result in reducing dandori total time by 23 hours per month or 10,7% and average dandori time per process is reduced by 6,9 minutes or 17,6%. Material heating line stop reduced by an average of 15,5 hours per month or 35,8%.

PT Sumber Rubberindo Jaya is a company that produces motorcycle tires. This company has implemented occupational safety and health but with limitation in providing personal protective equipment. Currently, some export customers require occupational safety and health as a condition of export. Therefore this research is to improve the occupational safety and health in the company. HIRARC method is used to analyze the safety and health of the company. The result shows 24% activities are categorized as low risk, 48% are categorized as moderate risk, 28% are categorized as high risk. There are 8 moderate risk activities from all areas and 9 high risk activities from raw materials, mixing, cutting, building drum, curing. Proposed improvements are given to fixing the floor, giving personal protective equipment (safety shoes, helmet) and safety sign, the path the forklift and various other things.

PT Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam-Plant Electro Mechanic is a company that produce electrical parts. Changeover time on some bench in production floor are very high, Thatâs why it needs to be reduced and improved. The method that will be used are Single Minutes Exchange of Dies (SMED) This project started with observing all machine on production floor, and after that some machine will be chosen to be improved. Changeover time data will be taken from this chosen machine, and this data will be analyzed with SMED. The result from SMED data will become suggested improvement for each machine. Suggested improvement that able to straightly be done will be directly implemented to target machine.Improvement on bench Auto Tampo Print was able to reduce the changeover time by 47%. Estimate improvement on bench Printing Body XB7-2nd Life should be able to reduce the changeover time by 75%. Estimate improvement on bench Manual Checker should be able to reduce the changeover time by 44%. Estimate improvement on bench Coil Winding and Testing MARSILI should be able to reduce changeover time by 18%. Estimate improvement on bench Coil Winding DETZO should be able to reduce changeover time by 7.4%.

Abstract: PT Injaplast is a manufacturing company that produces a plastic sacks (plastic woven bags,) which is located in Jl. Margomulyo No. 35, Surabaya. PT Injaplast currently doesnât have a Occupational Safety and Health, so that the work accident still quite high. It can be seen from the companyâs work accident data, which in 2013 and 2014 there are 12 minor accidents and 3 major accidents that occurred. The high rate of work accident can be minimized through the preparation of hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control document (HIRARC). HIRARC can support the successful implemetation of K3. The purpose of HIRARC is to detect hazard exist, risk assessment, and making control to minimize the potential risk. The results of HIRARC document preparation shows that there are still many activities that endagers worker. There are 43% activities are classified as moderate risk and 15% as high risk. That risk level must be solved by making a risk control. The suggestion on risk control are giving a personal protective equipment, give safety sign (administrative control), add equipment (engineering control), and replace a personal protective equipment and tools (substitution). The estimation of decreased risk rating possibility that expected later will be created based on risk controls that have been given. The estimation of decreased risk rating possibility when the controlling risk executed is the risk with moderate category which originally was 43% decrease to 11% while the high category are initially 15% decrease to 3%.

In this paper, we diagnosis the quality management system of ISO 9001: 2008âs clauses, particulary on PPIC and Production Department. We analyze the differences between the number of clauses which are not yet adopted before and after design the quality dokumen for the implementation of quality management system ISO 9001: 2008. The number of clauses after design the quality document which are not yet adopted decrease, i.e. 0% of quality management systemâs clause, 24% of management responsibilityâs clause, 3% of product realizationâs clause, and 46% of measurement, analysis and improvementâs clause.

PT. E-T-A Indonesia is a company which involves in circuit breaker industry. The process of production results in waste which categorized as dangerous and toxic waste (B3) and only saved by the company in few months. Currently, the company only own Temporary storage facilities for B3 waste which is not in accordance with Government policy which stated in PP. Thus there is a need for the company to plan the development of B3 waste storage facilities. The development of B3 waste storage facilities starts with planning the process of storing B3 waste, the process in handling contingency situation, and the designing process to develop the temporary storage facilities for B3 waste. Document which added is logbook and checklist to help the process of storing B3 waste. The results of this improvement will allows PT. E-T-A Indonesia to get the permission to store B3 waste from the government. Other positive effect by applying this improvement is to improve the safety and health condition of employees working around B3 waste storage facilities.

This paper discusses about inventory and distribution systems in PT. Blue Sky Biotech branch especially in Surabaya. Surabaya branch often has too much Prosatu product in the end of the month and the distribution systems also still infefficent. The analysis of distribution and inventory systems will affect to the total cost and and the warehouse inventory itself. The distribution system will be analyzed from distriburion route at Jakarta, choosing distribution partner, and the distribution method itself. There is an elimination route of taman tekno-gunung sindur-taman tekno route to minimize transportation cost. For the distribution partner PT. Blue Sky Biotech has three alternatives, to use existing partner (using bus) or to change it with train or truck. Continuous review policy with reorder point method is proposed to control the inventory. The best alternative is the company deliver the products using truck, as distribution partner and continuous review policy to control the inventory. The combination can reduce the company expense around 64%.

PT.Lima Jaya is a company that engaged in the field of steel and metalworks. Currently, this company wants to build a new company that specialized in wiremesh production. Therefore, this research tries to design their facility layout for minimizing moment. Three algorithms are applied in order to get the best result. The algorithms are corelap algorithm, aldep algorithm, and blocplan algorithm. The result shows that the blocplan algorithm gives the best result with the moment 13579,4.

The effort to reach zero accident in PT. Sari Mas Permai is by applying SMK3 (Occupational Safety and Health Management System). The first step was by making a HIRARC document (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) based on OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. HIRARC document is useful for every worker to know more about dangers and risks that exist in the working area, so every worker will be able to realize the importance of working safety and health and apply the risks control regularly. Hence the zero accident target will be accomplished. We used proactive technique in which the dangers are knowing before happened. The result of the analysis shows that risk control in PT. Sari Mas Permai has been successful to decrease high hazard by 32%, but there are 25 working activities in the 3rd plant with high and the medium risks, so risk control should be applied continuously.Â

PT. ABC would like to know the effectiveness of each production machines. The company wants to calculate the effectiveness of each production machines everyday, so that can be evaluated monthly. Therefore, this project is conducted to design the tools for calculating the level of machines effectiveness using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Result of data processing shown that the average of effectiveness for all moulding machines is 43%. The quality indicator became one of the causes of the low value of the average OEE for moulding machines. The ways to increase quality indicator are to make an additional tools on bandsaw machine, grouping the timber at unstacking on KD process, and to increase the operatorâs utility when downtime occurs. After implementating, the OEE becomes 45%. The tools for calculating the OEE are also designed for the company. Those are moulding production data form, OEE calculator, and OEE calculation module.
