Abstract

Lack of caring and human responsibility causes many dogs to be stranded on the road. There is a community where they do the rescue and help the dog to find his new family. "Interior Design Surabaya Animal (Dog) Care Community" is facilitating and facilitate rescue activities of the community. Design method used in the form of design stage include; Empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and implementation. Concepts raised based on the environment to overcome the problems posed by dogs such as smells, noise, clawing behavior and biting objects around it. While the style of modern design is selected as a support for solving the main problem. Design is classified into 3 areas, namely dog area, service area, and support area. Overall, this design is openly designed with materials, coloring, shape and circulation designed for inner activity A space is warm and familial.

Abstract

Nowadays, the food business more and more in demand, and it make increasingly fierce competition. Therefore,  it need new innovations to increase the interest of the visitors, one of them with redesign innovation. Resto Park in Surabaya would like to redesign to be a restaurant that attracts consumers and is able to compete against the times. By using the concept of Angkringan as in Yogyakarta, is expected to attract the interest of visitors whether it is the original visitors of Surabaya or other immigrants outside Surabaya. With such ethnic nuances, Angkringan is expected to compete with other restaurants that carry the theme of this traditional ethnic modern.

Abstract

This design background are the problem of the lack of public knowledge about potential predatory fish, especially freshwater fish that can be ornamental fish. This Predator Fish Information Center accommodates the community to obtain various information about predator fish, especially freshwater predator fish. The concept of the design is Artlantis which is a combination of the word art and atlantis which is the legend of the city under the sea, with the people expected to fell the atmosphere of buildings in ancient greek era savor the beauty of predatory fish in a large aquarium. Upon entering the entrance door visitors are invited to follow the path to enter and there is a 5m diameter aquarium center which is a combination of all fish. In addition visitors are pampered. The use of materials in the form of natural stones will bring visitors to feel in the ancient greek era with large buildings. Ceiling made curved and use the blue color makes visitors feel at the bottom of the sea plus the use of concrete material on the floor that makes visitors like being on the sand of the sea. Lastly before visitors come home, can buy souvenirs at souvenir shop or take pictures on photo booth area as a memento.

Abstract

Residential houses are the first place and facilities where children try to learn about new things. The necessity of learning, relaxing, and keeping facilities becomes one of the necessities of furniture that must be facilitated for children with the age range of 3-5 years (golden age). The role and function of the furniture became easier to understand which is used in residential houses. Combining kid’s activities into 3 different types of furniture, geometric shapes, primer colors, and constructions chosen for the steps of the furniture. Kiddos itself being chosen as the theme which means furniture that kids like de most, everything about kids combined to make the suitable and right furniture. This design is expected to necessity the needs of children's activities in space and the resulting design can support the creative process and development of children.

Abstract

Design is inspired from Joshua Alim Santoso's final project which raised waiting activity phenomenon performed by shopping center visitors. Waiting is an activity which can reduce commercial transaction. Therefore waiting and advertising facility which can accommodate visitor’s and tenant’s needs is needed. Shopping center has a different area. Configuration flexibility is needed so that the product can be placed in several types of shopping center’s area. In this design, Ciputra World Mall, Pakuwon Mall, and Grand City Mall and Convex are chosen as study cases. The used design thinking process is design thinking by Tim Brown, CEO of IDEO with 9 stages. The stages are understand, observe, POV, ideate, prototype, test, story telling, pilot, and BMC. Concept design is oriented to meet the needs of visitor and tenant which are contradictory. The result is waiting and advertising facility consist of 3 module with each function. This module can be configured into linear, and centered to be placed in different area. Moreover, the modules are designed in such way to possible adding decoration elements based on each shopping center’s style. Next, the product can be expanded for commercial orientation for other shopping mall.

Abstract

In the city of Surabaya there are still many people who do not care about the abandoned dogs, one of the reasons for not helping abandoned dogs is the absence of space at home to provide temporary shelter. In the other hand, some people also use religious beliefs as an excuse. Based on those phenomenon,the author  then  designed a shelter and café where not only to accommodate abandoned animals but also find the owner for the dog. So the café is designed to be useful as a gathering place for animal lovers and provide campaigns to adopt dogs. In this design there are also supporting facilities such as clinic, nursery, playgrounds and office to organize dog adoption procedures. To create the design of the shelter and cafe, the author uses the method of design thinking.

Abstract

Tunjungan Plaza is one of the largest and most famous malls in Surabaya and even in Southeast Asia, this mall is demanded by the people of Surabaya due to the completeness of products and services offered, The salon is one of the examples of services at Tunjungan Plaza Mall that is highly demanded by the public due to it’s popularity and quality. For example, May May Salon that I used as the site of my design project, the most popular activity in this salon is haircut and nail art, but the amount of facilities for both activities are not the same, so that it can’t improve the services of this salon, therefore it needs a flexible furniture that can comply needs in one furniture, it can also be used as a new innovation.

Abstract

The design on this coffee gallery came from the unawareness of Indonesian people based on Indonesian coffee facts, In which case Indonesia is one of the biggest coffee producers beside Brazil and Columbia. Coffee has a big potential to grow in Indonesia, but this potential cannot be maximized (due to) unawareness of Indonesian people on the quality of Indonesian coffee, In fact, Indonesian coffee has a good quality , therefore Indonesian people need a mediation to learn more about the fact of Indonesian coffee and its quality.                With a proper mediation, Indonesian people will more interest with the local coffee product than the import products, and Indonesian people also can appreciate it better, thus the image of Indonesian coffee can be leveraged and be at top of their mind compared to the imported coffee products, also the Indonesian people will realize the high potential of Indonesian coffee that will bring a positive impact to the Indonesian economic condition.

Abstract

MotoGP is a sport that uses motor vehicles with high speed to race to be able to get past the finish line first. This design aims to provide facilities for the community, especially the lovers of motogp in Surabaya, This design concept is futuristic design to support the objects on display so it does not look out of date. This design also provides facilities to increase community insight such as information about MotoGP legends, there is also a hall to carry out various activities related to motorsport, there is also a retail store that sells various MotoGP tributes and cafes so that visitors can relax for a moment After touring at this legends MotoGP museum.

Abstract

The need for food is increasing as the number of urban population in the world increases. One of the food we need is vegetable, one of human staple food. The increasing number of people has caused an increasing demand for the land, which has an impact on the cultivated land in the bigger city. Vegetables in urban city must be brought from out of town because of the inadequate urban farmland, causing the vegetables in urban city not fresh, not to mention if uncertain weather conditions make vegetable supply hampered. Seeing those problems, hydroponics became an answer needed by the urban society. Lettuce Urban Farming Restaurant is presented in Malang city with the concept of "Agliculture to the City", where the concept aims to bring the agriculture back into the urban areas. Malang City was chosen because it is one of the largest tourism city in East Java which is suitable to introduce hydroponics to the community.
