Abstract

As the wireless technology continuing developing enormously, within it the development ofspeech signal compression joining too, which is implemented in digital communicationsystem. Among the aim is privileged to minimize the channel capacity or bandwidth usageand the speed of transmission. So the use of smaller bits, which brings maximised voicequality, are the most important factor to this technology. One of the speech signalcompression techniques which is implemented in GSM network is called Adaptive Multi Rate(AMR) speech codec or known as GSM-AMR speech codec. There are 8 (eight) bit rates12.2, 10.2, 7.95, 7.40, 6.70, 5.90, 5.15 and 4.75 kbps which is used by GSM-AMR. The bitrates have abilities to adapt to the situation and condition of the network and also ability totailor the operator needs and requirement. The result of a non real-time simulation is shownthat GSM-AMR has a good enough quality of speech signal reconstruction with range ofSNR between 18.78 and 20.35 dB and also range of MSE between 0.053 and 0.079. Thesmaller the bitrate, the better the SNR and the MSE. It was also proven with the comparisonof original signal and constructed signal which is shown that the reconstructed signal hassimilarities figure with the original signal. Overall, the performance of the speech codecgives a good speech quality.Keyword: Speech Codec, GSM-AMR, Adaptive Multi Rate, SNR, MSE.

Abstract

This research showed that microstrip antenna can be worked at two different frequencies. This different frequency with low frequency ratio was required as its standard, such the thirdgeneration communications UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System). Usingslot loaded two different frequencies can be achieved, f1 = 1.83 GHz and f2 = 2.07 GHz atthe feed point (16;20,5) mm with frequency ratio 1.13 and VSWR under 1.2Keywords: dual frequency, probe feed, microstrip antenna

Abstract

Digital computers are available not only for design of control system but also to perform thecontrol function. Advances in digital computers and microprocessors have made their usevery attractive as components in control system. Using digital computer with a plantoperating in the continuous-time domain requires that its input signal be discrete, which inturn requires the sampling of the signals used by the controller. An A/D converter must beincorporated in the digital control system. This paper presents the choice of sampling timeand bit numbers and they’re to the system characteristics. An example of the calculation ofsampling time an. their results are presented in the paper. Keywords: digital computer, sampling theorem and A/D converter.1. Pendahuluan

Abstract

Routing protocol is a set of rules implemented by router in routing process to build a routingtable. The table is used as a reference to forward data packets from source to destination ininternetworks. There are three types of routing protocol: Distance vector, Link state andHybrid routing protocol. Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is a Link state routing protocolthat implements SPF (Shortest Path First) Dijkstra algorithm to determine a shortest pathfrom source node to destination node. OSPF as a public domain routing protocol not onlyworks as an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) in certain Autonomous System (AS) but also asExterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) which able to control the route of data packets amongdifferent Autonomous Systems. This capability is achieved by implementing multipleinterfaces OSPF with separate topological databases with their own Links state informationin every Autonomous System. In this research, Zebra software package is used to implementOSPF routing protocol and for the purpose of analysis and measurement of the output weuse a linux web base packet-analyzer software package. The result we found indicates thatthe bigger number of router and link on the router, the bigger the bandwidth used innetworks while the bigger number of area, the smaller bandwidth used in every area. Keywords: OSPF, link state, routing protocol, autonomous system.

Abstract

The effects of different shape of germanium profiles in the base to the cutoff frequency ofSi/SiGe/Si HBTs are analyzed. The shapes of germanium profile in the base are triangles. Inthe simulations, the effect of bandgap narrowing due to the addition of germanium in thebase of the HBT is included. The simulations are done with BIPOLE3V4.2.3.E. The resultsshows that Ge profiles in the base have influence in the maximum cutoff frequency of theHBTs.Keywords: SiGe, HBT, hetero junction bipolar transistor, frequency cutoff
