This journal has a focus on inter and multidisciplinary studies of social sciences and humanities. The scope is not limited by state, nation, temporal duration, certain ideas, and narrow beliefs. This journal is open to various approaches, theories, methodologies, research methods carried out by scientists, academics, researchers and practitioners in the fields and disciplines: economics, social, political science, government studies, international relations, sociology, anthropology, demography, history, religious and cultural studies, philosophy of science, communication science, and development studies.

Abstract

There are many studies on Islamic Boarding School, but the study which associating with Islamic boarding school as socialization agent of ecological values is still rare. This study aims to examine the understanding and concepts about the environment in Islamic Boarding School and the process of learning about religious values in the environment, but also want to know the implementation of the learning. Data collection was done first in-depth interviews to the Islamic Boarding School manager and the two primary data from the students (male and female). The study found that: First, most students perceived the concept of the environment and agreed to cleanliness association as part of faith. Secondly, a small percentage of male or female students are resistant to the environmental concept and their studies are inseparable from the existence of patriarchal culture carried on the contextual conditions that enclosed it, therefor the way of thinking, behaving is much influenced by the conditions in where they live. Third, the learning process associated with keeping the environment socialized through some yellow book recitation, outing class, artworks contest related to environmental hygiene and learning comfort, voluntary work. Fourth, most students agree to work once a week and agree on the existence of punishment if not participate in voluntary work. Fifth, actions by students associated with violations (cleanliness work), most of them proposed a fine or punishment.Keywords: Ecology, Islamic Boarding School, Punishment, Socialization

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the level of sustainability management of fish auction place (TPI) Pondok Dadap. Methods of data analysis using the techniques of Multidimensional Scalling (MDS) through a RAPFISH approach. The results showed that the average index value of sustainability management of fish auction place (TPI) "Pondoddadap" of 61, its meaning is quite sustainable. Sustainability index value of each dimension, i.e. the ecological dimension of 62.41%, economic dimension of 66.51%, social dimension of 23.68%, institutional dimension of 76.13%, and infrastructure dimension of 76.27%. The recommended factors to improve the status of sustainability are the availability of places of waste disposal activities TPI or waste treatment installations, an increasing number of fish traders in TPI, keeping the potential conflicts between fishermen and traders so that does not happen, the availability of human resources that support the auction, keeping the role of KUD in the auction, as well as the availability of garbage disposal.

Abstract

This research is conducted to determine the Role of Uncle (Atoin amaf) in Belis Transaction in Marriage Culture of Naibenu mainly in Naibenu Sub district North Central Timor regency. The method used is qualitative method with the aim to descripe the role of Uncle in this belis transaction phenomenon in a natural manner and in as it is by using transcendental phenomenology approach namely the researcher puts aside any assumptions concerning the studied phenomena by conducting epoche that is containment initial knowledge so that the researcher is able to understand and describe any arising general meanings as well as any meanings behind the phenomena taken from life experiences of informants. The data collection technique is conducted by using in-depth interview by listening directly to any related informants. Also, the researcher conducted an observation to make sure the data validity obtained and conducted documentation in the forms of photographs and recorder records.  The sample collection technique was by using Snow ball because the research has yet understood properly concerning the situation and location characteristics. Therefore, the researcher through new main informants was directed to main informants. Results of the research show that in belis payment process in marriage culture found in Naibenu, the one has the right to speak in decision making process is Uncle (atoin amaf) from the party of Bride. Om also serves as the marriage witness and guarantor from both bride and bridegroom.

Abstract

The economic crisis that occurred in Indonesia since some time ago, whereas many large-scale businesses get stagnated and even its activity stopped. The Small and Medium Industry (SME) sector proved to be more resilient in facing the crisis. Given the experience that Indonesia has faced during the crisis, it is not excessive if private sector development is focused on SME. SME is placed in a factual position because SME is considered to accomplish the necessity to diversify national economy in order to protect it against economic fluctuation and crescents. Management capability is very significant in small, medium and large industries, where each requires management activities to coordinate the skills or the workers’ skills and the resources coordination owned by the company. The purpose of this study is to examine and explain the effect of management capability on the performance of Sasirangan Small and Medium Industry (SME) in South Kalimantan Province. The method used is a quantitative approach (positivism), because the obtained data from the survey results are in the form of numbers or digits which then analyzed using statistics to answer questions and test the research hypothesis. The result of the research shows that management capability has a significant direct positive effect on SME performance. GeSCA results obtained by path coefficient of 0.029* and CR = 4.28* (significant) are positive. This result indicates that management capability owned by SME Sasirangan owner can improve SME performance.Keyword: Management, Small and Medium Industry (SME)

Abstract

The aim of this research are to analysis position of public relations in the organizational structure and the implications of roles & functions in various organizations. The basic concept about public relations role: expert prescriber, problem solving facilitator, communications facilitator and communication technician. This research uses qualitative methods. Informants are public relations of Persada Hospital, public relations of Hotel Santika, public relations of Jatim Park Group, and public relations of Widyagama University. The result of this research shows the position of public relations at Persada Hospital which is directly under the Director of Hospital acting as communication technician role, expert prescriber, communication facilitator, problem solving process facilitator. While the position of public relations in Santika Hotel under seles manager division role as communication technician, proved there are still many bureaucratic levels that must be passed in carrying out its function. The position of public relations Jatim Park Group is under the directors 1 who acts as communication technician role, expert prescriber, communication facilitator, problem solving process facilitator For Widyagama University, the position of public relations is under the direct leader of the highest role as communication technician role and communication facilitator. Performance of public relations relating to the role and position in this study is considered positive and in accordance with the portion of work.Keywords: implications, organizational structure, public relations positions, roles & functions

Abstract

This research approach is qualitative research based on phenomenology. The essence of phenomenological study is to describe the views, knowledge, as well as the interpretation of a concept or phenomenon of subjects with a particular phenomenon, therefore, this study aims to understand the meaning of the concept of corporate social responsibility from the perspective of PT. Petrokimia Gresik management. The results showed that PT. Petrokimia Gresik management interprets the concept of corporate social responsibility (1). as accountability to the government; (2). as accountability to shareholders; (3). as accountability to the public; (4). as accountability to the environment; (5). as accountability to employees; and (6). as accountability to customers.
