Abstract

This article declares that violence of religions because of sacred text, dogma and the interpretation of text. Absolutely versus relatively, and humanism versus god. Violenceof religions departs from ulama, pastor, religious leader, missionaries and religious teacher, religions ambivalence between peace and violence, because in the religion on text and context are very rigid. The holy war was justified by religious text. Among problems of religious dialogue are collective identity, minority and majority issues, Christianization and islamization issues, and the conversion of religion. Continued dialogue with cutting crucial issues, collective identity, minority-majority, Christinization and Islamization and conversion.

Abstract

History of Western civilization can not be separated from philosophy and religion. At first the philosophy was born as a force infantry to break thought the dogmas and ideas of superstition that has been ingrained in the public body. Then came the religion as a "golden bridge" toward the ultimate truth "via a toll road" called revelation. But the two do not always go hand in hand. There are times when utilizing the philosophy of religion, but not infrequently refuse philosophy of religion, either vulgar or skeptical as performed by David Hume who argue that religion is superstition and only adikudrati busy talking about aspects that are far away from human observation. Abstract

Malays have different tolerance values are translated in a variety of vocabulary such as the value of openness, pluralism, persebatian, tolerant, cooperativeness, shared causes, shy, responsible, fair and true, brave and courageous, wise and prudent, meetings and consensus, taking advantage of the time, farseeing, industrious and diligent, trustworthy values, science, Takwa to God, and other. Tolerance in the life of wilt occupy an important position in the life of wilt, tolerant person who is considered a virtuous person, kind, know yourself and know the customs and religion holds, otherwise people who do not tolerate people who are not considered beperasaan, unsure of themselves and Nafsi called lust, selfish person. People like this will be abused in society and denigrated in the association. Another character of the Malays are tolerant. Malays would prefer to be silent rather than reactive. Reactive attitude in an environment can lead to an atmosphere of pros and cons. The atmosphere is always avoided by the Malays. In historical fact, are rarely found in incidents provoked by the Malays. There are factors adopted by the Malay people of faith that religion does not advocate violence and brutality.

Abstract

The Indonesian nation is a pluralistic nation, especially in religiosity. This is becoming a nation is rich in differences. The fact that it can not deny, that, the existence of normative standards that are owned by their respective religion. These religious norms when viewed at a glance, only to the extent of universal teachings and values of religious open to consensus. However, if further review, in these religions there are also religious norms that are partial-specific, such as religious doctrine, which is certainly difficult strived occurrence of a harmony. This is based on the reality that everything must be followed by a doctrinal interpretation, and in turn will establish religious fanaticism among his people. Of this fact, it can be ascertained that the conflict across religious doctrine among the adherents of a religion will continue. Hence, it is necessary to build an awareness of the plurality of religions in this country. Pancasila as the nation's basic philosophy is the ideal model of a plurality basis, Pancasila is a result of the contemplation of the founding fathers of the open-minded and tolerant in religion and was the embodiment of traditional values and cultural heritage. Order to create a harmonious and democratic life in this country, it is important to review the Pancasila as the foundation of religious plurality in Indonesia. Pancasila is the objectification of the universal values in every religion and belief, Pancasila is the philosophical basis of the intersection or along the Indonesian people in religion, with the supreme deity, please indicate that this nation with living up to her religion, Indonesia has one the same religiosity, namely joint recognition of the supreme deity. Pancasila is a social contract and state and nation.

Abstract

Ummah has various connotations which depend on perspectives from various sources. In Islam, ummah has certain element and criteria and especially if related to Islam as “a way of life”. Currently, ummah is facing tough challenges from within and outside. Challenge from within is represented by many perspectives, as well as from outside. Both challenges could not be easily wiped away and at certain level, can damage the ummah if they are not handled carefully. Obviously, challenge from outside is clearer than from within. To know the challenges fundamentally can easily help to find the fair solution. It is indeed a must to differentiate the secondary challenge that is produced by fundamental challenge. Historical perspective could also be examined to see the change that happened from the earlier stage until now in order to observe the solidarity of the ummah themselves throughout the stages. The strength and weakness from fundamental aspect can determine the identity and survival of the ummah in the globalised world. This paper, as it is presented here tries to see, to elaborate and to observe the strength and weakness of ummah fundamentally and its relation to the survival of ummah themselves.
