Abstract

Got tolerance in Islam should be practiced and developed by the Muslims themselves. We are as Muslim s very fortunate with the differences in the understanding of Islam. That difference has been the will of God because God created man different level of intelligence. The results that we have adopted any of ijt ihad in Islam does not contradict the Qur’an and hadith will not bring out of Islam. Religious harmony does not want to unite all religions, or not to generalize all religions, or want to create a new religion combine d from all religions. But we want to try is to attempt to build bridges with the harmonious relationship among religions.

Abstract

This article tries to study about how Muslim minority of Singapore have reconciled Islamic teachings with the unique challenges of their days. As we know, they live in a plural society, secular state, and globalised modern world. There are many challenges. Nevertheless, their experiences show how they practise Islam with relative ease; how they seek to harmonise religious teachings with their unique circumtances succesfully; and how they take care of the Islamic civilization well. Indeed, the external factors, such as the geopolitical situation and practice Islam. However, It shows that Islam remains compatible with any condition, including with the process of modernisation as long as the practice of the religion remains guided by its fundamental principles. Even, in the context of modernisation, Islam plays it’s role as spiritual bodyguard toward the bitterness of development. Further, Muslim Minority of Singapore’s experiences strengthen Gellner’s statement that “Islam is the great exception to secularization”.

Abstract

The issue of religious pluralism cause unrest in the Muslim community in our country. She can wear away the belief that a thin majority of Muslims faith. This paper aims to examine the challenges facing the contemporary scholars the issue of pluralism is increasingly transmitted in Malaysia. This study is a qualitative assessment form. The method used to obtain the data documentation while inductive and deductive methods to analyze the data before formulating conclusions rather than facts presented. There are various issues that is apostasy and conversion of religion, interfaith love, celebrations and religious rituals together, use the sentence of Allah by non- Muslims, Muslim community leaders half a tendency to bring messeage pluralism in their speech, whether they realize it contains elements of pluralism or vice versa. Precisely, the contemporary scholars should always be sensitive, responsive in identifying issues that touch of religious pluralism, either express or implied. Strictly speaking, they are very concern and dexterity required to handle it wisely and will demonstrate their ability to meet the challenges of the times.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the history and the recognition of the existence of Khunghuchu religion has ups and downs. In 1965 in accordance with the determination of the President 1 pn.ps/1965 or law No. 5 of 1969 concerning the types of recognized religions are Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Khunghuchu. However, the contents of the provision differs from the content of the circular issued by the Ministry of Interior no. 477/74054/BA.01.2/4683/95 November 18, 1978. Letter No. 77/2535/POUD Interior Minister, dated July which states that the type of religion in Indonesia consist of Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism, Hinduism, and Buddhism, however Presidential Decree 6 of 2000 abolished the circular. In the course of religious history of Kunghucu in Pekanbaru, when the Chinese community can not let go of the belief Kunghucu, so they rely on religion (religious master) is valid, ie Buddhism. At the time religion Kunghucu start getting legally, they can not easily escape from menstream of religions. This is piety craving for comfort already in Tridharma, in which there is confidence kunghucu, taoist and Buddhist.

Abstract

In the history of boarding schoolseen that among the functions of boarding schools is taught, studied Islamic sciences, and also the institutions that defend the Islamic faith from the understanding and teaching of Islam distorted or destructive. In other words, people boarding a bulwark against the attacks of thought and understanding that can destroy religion. For example, Modern Boarding School Roxburgh roommate in the face of religious pluralism and liberal understanding has established the Center of Islamic and Occidental Studies (CIOs) that examines all of Western thought and how to deal with the foundation of Islamic thought. Modern cottage CIOs roommate has published several books in the face of liberalism and religious pluralism. In addition, Modern Boarding roommate also has done Regeneration Scholars Program.
