Marwah merupakan media komunikasi ilmiah antar peminat dan pemerhati kajian gender, perempuan dan Islam. Abstract

There are differences of opinion about the permissibility of women's political opposite. This is due to understand the Qur'an partial and still gender bias. The divergent views associated with differences in understanding the sources of Islamic teachings, especially the verses of the Koran that talk about politics. This paper discusses how the actual political rights of women in Islam, so that people can understand and are not taboo for women in politics. Based on the identification and classification and analysis of the texts of the Qur'an and the Hadith about politics in al-Qur'an. It was found that women in politics have the right according to Islam. Men and women are obliged to commanding the good and forbidding the evil through several ways including the political media. Islam does not distinguish between men and women in individual rights and the rights of the main civic political rights. However, that should be noted is that all these rights must be placed within the limits of natural as women.

Abstract

This research is a library research which have purpose to integrate religion and Science in learning. There are three questions to be answered, first circumstances of integration between religion and Science, a description from the example of integration between religion and science come out  form the Moon and the theme of nature and explanation in the Qur'an. With analysis and normative content of the Qur'an explain the phenomena of nature with science and science context. The first research results, the integration of science with nature is a necessity and it is becoming important in the development of sciences as theology which also containing common knowledge.

Abstract

In article 7, paragraph (1) of Law No. 1 of 1974 on marriage mentioned that the maturity of a child is if the man was 21 years old and 18 year old girl. In article 7, paragraph (1) of Law No. 1 of 1974 on marriage states that marriage is only allowed if a man has reached the age of 19 years and women have attained the age of 16 years. That is, the law allows minors to enter into marriage. On the other hand, the law looks acknowledge a violation of the provisions of the age and maturity limits candidates to enter into marriage. It is accommodated in article 7, paragraph (2) of Law No. 1 1974, that court or other officials appointed by the parents of the male and female can give dispensation to the minors to enter into marriage. Inconsistency Law 1 1974 about the age limit can be interpreted as accommodate marriage of underage marriage. Moreover, in Article 7 of the law as well as in his explanation did not mention the reasons that can be used as the basis of given dispensation, so that everyone can easily obtain it. Law's provision is very loose, but when viewed from various aspects, a lot of harm caused by the underage marriage, particularly for women.

Abstract

Violence committed against the husband and wife both physically and psychologically is very difficult to disclose, because the data does not exist, and the problem is considered a private matter. But for example, in the case of nusyuz or wife against husband, there is a religious legitimacy (Alquran 4:34), for a husband to beat his wife on the grounds of disobedience wife. So widespread belief among Muslims arise, that the husband the right to beat his wife. When traced the context of the verse then beating is the last alternative for a husband whose wife nusyuz after mau'izah (give good advice and separate beds.) In fact, the concept of violence in the form of beatings should be avoided and not to be carried out because the Prophet Muhammad as a role model Muslims never do the beating of his wife.

Abstract

Various policies have been made to achieve gender equality still encountering many obstacles. The biggest obstacle lies in the understanding of the perception that men are superior and women identical to inferior. In other words, there is still a stereotype perception that is difficult to be shifted to establish gender equality. Similarly to the learning process in the classroom can not be separated from issues of gender. This condition can be anticipated by applying learning through the process of in-depth dialogue between genders using reveal-capture-effusive techniques. This study was conducted to determine the learning steps using reveal-capture-effusive techniques on social differentiation material and to determine the effect given from the learning process by using the reveal-capture-effusive techniques to minimizing gender stereotypes in the classroom. Learning undertaken consisting of measures in the form of a dialogue with each other and express their own gender advantages and assess the other gender advantages, gender case analysis and dialogue through the mass media, cases of gender analysis and dialogue in daily life, and gender dialogue with gender experts. By using the approach of classroom action research (PTK) with two cycles and research instruments such as observation, field notes, and tests found the results of research that learning by using reveal-capture-effusive techniques can minimize stereotypes between gender groups of male students and female students and increase students’ test results. Observations in the classroom to the indicator of the ability of students to listen to opposing gender argued a number of 12 students (43%) are in a good range in cycle 1 increased to 24 students (86%) in cycle 2. For indicator positive response to expressions of gender opponent shows that the number of 8 students (29%) are in a good range in the first cycle and increased to 22 students (79%) in second cycle. The results of written tests conducted in each cycle showed an increase from an average of 76.5 to an average of 80.1. Implementation of the reveal-capture-effusive techniques can be an alternative out pouring of learning that can appreciate the differences in the group through the process of in-depth dialogue.

Abstract

Education is a tool for transferring the norms of society, knowledge and human capabilities, as well as a tool to assess and convey ideas and new values, including the values and norms of gender. It is known that many gender inequality occurred  in society are assumed to arise because there is a gender bias in education, including religious education. As an example of gender bias in the curriculum of Islam among the materials about the origin of human events, the obligation to pray in congregation, the provisions of polygamy, spousal function in marriage. In an effort to realize the religious understanding of the nature of gender, then it should be required revisions to matters of gender bias in textbooks of the Islamic religion. It should be stressed also awareness about the value of education gender perspective to all parties, especially the author and editor of books on the fact that the curriculum is not gender neutral. Meanwhile, for the religious teachers are required to be more critical and sensitive in identifying and examine all matters relating to gender inequality in the learning process that takes place in their daily work.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement of student Madrasah Aliyah (MA) at Diniyah Puteri Foundation Pekanbaru. The total population in this study was 62 students. Because of population is small, the entire population is taken as sample. Data were collected through a questionnaire and documentation, analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement of students of Madrasah Aliyah Diniyyah Puteri Pekanbaru. To develop and optimize the emotional intelligence it is recommended to the school, especially the teachers in order to incorporate elements emosioal intelligence in presenting the material as well as emotionally engaging students in the learning process.
