Sosial Budaya (Online ISSN 2407-1684 | Print ISSN 1979-2603), merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau sejak tahun 2007. Jurnal Sosial Budaya ini merupakan media yang memuat kajian-kajian ilmiah dalam bentuk hasil riset dalam bidang ilmu sosial/humaniora, seperti pernaskahan, pranata-sosial dan sejarah untuk membangun dan membangkitkan kembali kejayaan Tamaddun Melayu dalam kawasan regional Asia Tenggara. Jurnal Sosial Budaya diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun pada bulan Juli dan Desember yang berusaha menempatkan hasil penelitian para peneliti, akademisi, pemerhati dalam keilmuan terkait. Jurnal Sosial Budaya juga memberi perhatian bagi publikasi hasil penelitian interdisipliner berbagai pihak yang memiliki perhatian serius untuk merancang, dan merajut tatanan dunia baru Tamadun Melayu.

Abstract

Kehadiran Duta Wisata atau Duta Daerah diketahui memiliki berbagai keuntungan bagi dunia pariwisata di Indonesia. Terlebih, banyak kabupaten atau kota yang memanfaatkan Duta Wisata atau Duta Daerah sebagai ‘wajah’ baru guna mempromosikan berbagai pengembangan yang ada di daerahnya. Salah satunya seperti Kabupaten Banyuwangi yang memiliki Jebeng Thulik sebagai Duta Daerah, yang dipilih melalui proses kontestasi yang sangat unik dan ketat. Untuk itu penelitian ini disusun untuk menganalisis eksistensi Duta Wisata Banyuwangi (Jebeng-Thulik) melalui kajian budaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif melalui pendekatan budaya, di mana peneliti melakukan proses observasi terhadap kegiatan Jebeng Thulik sebagai sebuah peristiwa budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pertama, keberadaan Jebeng Thulik Banyuwangi telah dikukuhkan sebagai Duta Wisata Daerah sejak 1973 saat kepemimpinan Bupati Djoko Supaat Slamet. Bahkan kehadiran Jebeng Thulik masih terus eksis hingga saat ini, di mana konsep yang diusung berubah dari Duta Wisata menjadi Duta Daerah. Kedua, hingga saat ini keberadaan Jebeng Thulik dibawahi oleh sebuah komunitas bertajuk Perkumpulan Jebeng Thulik Banyuwangi yang mengusung konsep paguyuban, di mana mereka dipersatukan dengan bentuk organisasi yang guyub, rukun, dan gotong royong. Oleh sebab itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa kehadiran Jebeng Thulik sebagai Duta Daerah muncul berkat kepedulian pemerintah setempat yang turut didukung oleh masyarakat, dan terus dikembangkan melalui sebuah komunitas bertajuk Perkumpulan Jebeng Thulik Banyuwangi.

Abstract

 Traditional games as a cultural heritage need to be explored and socialized so that they are not interrupted and to avoid extinction. Traditional games are very beneficial for the physical, social, and emotional growth and development of children. The existence of traditional games in the era of globalization has begun to be replaced by technology-based games. This study aimed to determine the existence of traditional games among elementary school children in Tuah Karya Village, Tuah Madani Sub-district, Pekanbaru City. The population of this study was elementary school-aged children who live in the Tuah Karya Village, with a total of 2.208 people. A total of 110 samples were taken by random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires and percentage descriptive data analysis techniques. The results of the study show that traditional games in Tuah Karya Village can be classified into three categories: there are traditional games that still exist, are almost extinct, and are no longer recognized. There are seven games that still exist: kelereng, gasing, layang-layang, lompat tali  (yeye), statak, congkak, and tarik tambang. The five almost extinct games are ular naga dan anak ayam, petak umpet, eggrang, and terompa panjang. The seven games that are no longer recognized are ligu, canang (gatrik), meja pari, adu buah para (buah karet), benteng, boi-boian, and lulu cina buta. The existence of traditional games in the Tuah Karya Village can still be improved because the situation and conditions in the area are still conducive.

Abstract

Tengger ethnic group have unique customs in the wedding tradition. They maintain the mores of wedding in the form of rituals and mysticism from generation to generation. The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the rituals and mysticism that exist in the Tengger tradition of wedding. Descriptive qualitative methods are used to scuttle the phenomenon. Informants are determined based on criteria and considerations to have a thorough understanding of rituals and mysticism in the wedding tradition. Data is collected through interviews, observations, and supporting documentation. The results of this study found that there are rituals performed by the community in the wedding tradition. Starting from the affairs of matchmaking, the parents in Tengger are also guided by a Primbon that is understood by some people including shamans. After the matchmaking, a meeting of friends is the day that the groom meets the bride-to-be. Then held a traditional Walagara (wologoro) ceremony consisting of japa mantra and banten kayoban.  Japa mantra is summoning the spirits of ancestors, ancestral spirits, and spirit guards of the village. Banten kayoban is a family inner bond between men and women after wedding. If the custom is not implemented, the marriage carried out is considered invalid even though it is carried out according to the State, even getting social sanctions in the Tengger community. The division of inheritance rights is owned by parents, an equal division between boys and girls. Mysticism is found in almost every ritual in the wedding tradition. Tengger people believe that mystical elements have a power that brings good to couples who want to get married.

Abstract

This paper aims to provide information about the Ruwahan tradition carried out by the Palembang Malay community and discuss it from a psychological perspective. The author obtains information from various relevant writing sources through the library research method. From the perspective of Psychology, the Ruwahan tradition of the Palembang Malay community, there is a social learning process, because this tradition is a learning process that is carried out from generation to generation. In the Ruwahan tradition, social interaction takes place in the form of cooperation, where the Palembang Malay people work together from the preparation stage until the Ruwahan tradition is completed. A Ruwahan tradition is a form of prosocial behavior, where the host invites neighbors and relatives to give charity without expecting anything in return.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengelaborasi fenomena Childfree ditengah-tengah masyarakat modern serta bagaimana pandangan Islam dalam menyikapi fenomena tersebut. Istilah Childfree dalam landskap para ilmuwan menunjukkan terhadap suatu gejala masyarakat yang melakukan pernikahan namun cenderung memilih untuk tidak memiliki anak. Di Indonesia sendiri, walaupun tingkat kelahiran anak cukup tinggi, namun dengan adanya tantangan arus globalisasi, perlemahan ekonomi, aspek psikologis, serta kultur budaya dari luar menjadi sebab-sebab adanya pola pikir dalam sebuah komunitas tertentu untuk hidup dalam sebuah rumah tangga namun tanpa anak. Penelitian ini menintikberatkan kepada elaborasi dinamika serta motif-motif para pelaku Childfree dalam mengambil keputusan tersebut. Studi Riset ini menggunakan pendekatan Mix Method dengan mengkombinasikan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada pertisipan. Jumlah responden mencapai 121 partisipan, dimana 67,7% berasal dari pria, dan 32,3% Wanita. Mayoritas partisipan sebesar 89,5% berusia dari rentang 18-25 tahun. Analisis penelitian menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pendapat terkait fenomena childfree ini, sebagian besar responden (58,7%) mengatakan tidak setuju terhadap trend childfree dengan salah satu alasannya, yaitu anak merupakan anugerah dari Tuhan dan memberi dampak positif bagi kehidupan. Perspektif seseorang dalam menanggapi fenomena childfree bermacam-macam, dapat terjadi karena latar belakang yang berbeda-beda dan budaya yang sudah melekat.

Abstract

Hubungan antara orang Mentawai dan hewan sudah berlangsung sejak lama. Salah satuya hewan babi. Babi bukan hanya sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan makanan, tetapi berkaitan dengan kebutuhan sosial budaya orang Mentawai. Melalui hubungan itu, tercipta suatu siasat yang dijalankan oleh orang Mentawai di Sarerreiket untuk mempertahankan kehidupan mereka. Sehingga babi menjadi penting dalam siklus budaya itu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan etnografi terfokus dengan memusatkan perhatian pada ruang lingkup basis budaya orang Sarereiket di Siberut Selatan, Mentawai. Pengumpulan data melalui teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi serta menganalisisnya secara emik dan etik. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa babi memang merupakan hewan paling penting dan menjadi wadah dalam setiap upacara adat yang dilakukan oleh orang Sarereiket. Upacara adat yang dilakukan berupa ritus leingkaran kehidupan (punen), ritus penyeimbang (puliaijat) dan ritus biasa (lia) yang tujuannya menciptakan keseimbangan dan mengembalikan keseimbangan jika terganggu akibat ulah manusia. relasi manusia (orang Mentawai) dengan alam harus dilakukan melalui ritual adat tersebut, dengan memakai perantara babi sebagai hewan yang memiliki kedudukan tinggi bagi roh Penguasa. Semua hubungan manusia dan alam melalui ritual tersebut, diatur berdasarkan kepercayaan Arat Sabulungan.

Abstract

Kajian hadis dalam bidang living semakin marak dilakukan, hal ini mengungkapkan bahwa tradisi-tradisi muslim Indonesia secara tidak langsung tersemayami nilai-nilai hadis. Penelitian ini mengupas tradisi moso rejeb di Desa Jatisari Kecamatan Senori Kabupaten Tuban. Moso rejeb adalah kegiatan berpuasa serentak pada awal bulan Rajab, kegiatan ini berkembang dan mentradisi hingga saat ini. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik wawnacara secara langsung dengan informan, yakni beberapa pelaku tradisi yang melakukan puasa, tokoh agama, dan beberapa masyarkat Desa Jatisari. Tradisi moso rejeb yang berkembang ini akan dianalisis dengan tradisi diskursif Talal Asad. Kemudian hasil identifikasi ini akan digunakan untuk menggambarkan keberagamaan masyarkatnya. Data yang digunakan data pustaka, wawanvara kemudian diolah secara deskriptif analitis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa praktik moso rejeb sebagai tradisi diskursif yang diresepsi dan dipraktikan masyarakat Jatisari, Senori, Tuban. Sehingga dapat dipaparkan teks-teks hadis yang menjadi dasar lahirnya praktik moso rejeb.

Abstract

Museums, especially cultural museums have always been considered as gatekeepers of culture that put forward the main concepts of cultural preservation and conservation. Cultural visit to museums is effective stimulant in increasing cultural awareness, as well as strengthening the cultural identity of visitors. This paper explores the challenges of developing museums and Papuan culture from various perspectives. The discussion also highlights the transformation of museums into Papuan culture and the point of view of ideal conservation and preservation values based on the experiences and views of the group participants. Through qualitative research, the study formed three big themes:  1) Collection and space management; 2) Museum Image; and 3) human resources capacity building and moral responsibility. To improve services in the field of culture, the study suggested that museums in Papua need to think to strengthening museum management collection while providing visiting convenience and increasing support staff in the cultural field

Abstract

The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Conservation Area is a tourist attraction because of its natural and cultural wealth. Natural tourism has flourished in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Conservation, but the cultural potential has not developed optimally. Ranu Pani Village is a village within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Conservation region of cultural diversity and uniqueness, populated by the Tengger society. The study aims to identify the Ranu Pani Village people's culture and design tourism activities from such identification. The method used in this study is the ethnomethodology of Spradley analysis. Ethnomethodology is used to dig up information about people's culture through a direct approach to society. The retrieval of data relating to cultural forms and tourism in the village of Ranu Pani with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Studies have shown that Dukun Pandita is essential role in preserving the cultural community. Local cultures, such as the Karo custom and music ceremonies, can be used as regular tourist attractions by integrating the Tengger calendar system with E-information so that the tourists can know the time for the ceremony. There is also an art of Sodoran dance and folklore that can be collaborated with traditional music studios of cultural houses and Rondo Kuning temple studio performances of the music in previously unused amphitheaters.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with ethnic, cultural, and linguistic diversity. Papua is an island as well as a province at the eastern tip of Indonesia. Papua has various ethnic groups, one of which is the Dani tribe from the Baliem Valley of the Central Mountains. The Dani tribe has a culture or tradition that is carried out when commemorating an event that occurs. One of these traditions is the Burning Stone or Barapen Tradition. The Dani tribe began to live and occupy other areas, one of which was in Kampung Alang-Alang V. The research formulation was to determine the Meaning of the Dani Tribe Bakar Batu Tradition among the People of Kampung Alang-Alang V. This study used a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Ethnography is used to find out the meaning of the Dani culture among the Alang-Alang V people in the form of the Bakar Batu Tradition. By analyzing using Symbolic Interactionalism Theory. The meaning of the Burning Stone Tradition carried out by the Dani Tribe has the following meanings: 1.) As conflict peace, 2). Ancestral traditional values, 3). Group Identity, 4.) The form of gratitude, and 5). The Bakar Batu Tradition Media carried out by the Dani Tribe Community in Alang-Alang V Village cannot be separated from the translation of ancestral symbols and values conveyed by parents to the younger generation, in order to continue to preserve the tradition.
