Abstract This study explored students' views on applying the independent curriculum in natural science subject. The method used was descriptive qualitative. The sample was fourth-grade students of Islamic Elementary School (IES) Salsabila Yogyakarta, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis used an interactive model, namely the reduction stages, data presentation, and conclusion. The findings of this study indicated that the fourth-grade students of IES Salsabila Yogyakarta responded positively to natural science learning, combined with social studies, to become Natural and Social Science (NSS). NSS gives students holistic knowledge so they get complete learning, hoping to make themselves individuals with a stand-in dealing with a problem. Therefore, it is expected that the application of the independent curriculum in natural science subject can be facilitated with media that support learning. Socialization or technical guidance for educators is needed in manufacturing innovative media to make this happen.

Abstract This research was conducted to identify the humanistic approach of Abraham Maslow's theory in cooperative learning in social studies subjects in class V by focusing on Abraham Maslow's 5 needs regarding the achievement of each need. The method used was qualitative method with descriptive analysis. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documents. The results of this research indicated that physiological needs, social needs, needs to be appreciated, and self-actualization needs have not been properly actualized, this is because: (1) teachers were still lacking in the mastery of cooperative learning techniques, (2) the atmosphere was unconducive, and the students were less compact in completing assignments, (3) students had not yet developed a sense of appreciation, so they still needed teacher instruction, and (4) some students could not express the material studied in class. The need for a sense of security had been implemented properly because the teacher gave the freedom to ask, answer, and accept the opinions expressed by his/her students.

Abstract Increasing teachers’ professionalism and educational quality in Indonesia can be done through classroom action research (CAR). However, many teachers still have not been able to carry out CAR. As prospective teachers, PGSD students of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University must take the CAR course. The purpose of this study is to measure the ability of students' creative thinking in designing CAR proposals as an effort to evaluate materials to prepare prospective professional teachers. This research is quantitative research analyzed with descriptive statistics. The sample was taken from PGSD students who attended the CAR lecture. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by analyzing CAR proposals to determine students' creative thinking skills in preparing CAR planning. This study produced information on student knowledge in the form of creative thinking skills with the creative category in terms of problem identification, determining the causes of problems, ideas of action, details of procedures, data analysis, and the ability to design research instruments that still need to be improved.

Abstract This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. This study aims to describe the level of students' problem-solving in fraction operations. The subjects of this study were three students of SDN 70 Manjalling who had low, moderate, and high abilities in solving fractions. Data were collected through written tests and individual interviews to obtain valid information. The results showed that students with high problem-solving abilities were able to apply all of Polya's problem-solving steps. Students with moderate problem-solving abilities could not do all of Polya's problem-solving steps. They only applied steps of understanding the problem and making a solution plan. Students with low abilities found it challenging to use fractions and were unable to use each step to solve the Polya's problem. Those students could only apply steps of understanding the problem and making a solution plan, but they did not understand the problem and could not convert it into mathematical forms.

Abstract The background of this research is that the learning media used by teachers affect students' understanding of tajwid when reading Qur'an. Simple media that can solve this problem is a rotating wheel media containing hijaiyah letters. The purpose of this study was to determine students' understanding of tajwid by using a rotary wheel in the Al-Qur'an Hadith Subject. The research method used was quantitative with quasi-experimental research and Time-Series Design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data collection was done using tests and assessment rubrics. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and t-test. The results of this study indicated that in the cognitive and skill domains, the average value of the pretest and posttest were in a good category and improved after being treated with a rotating wheel media. The t-test results showed the sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, applying the rotary wheel media increased students' comprehension of tajwid.

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of digital tale media and the impact of its use on students' emotional intelligence. This study used a quantitative approach with the quasi-experimental method and nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 40 students of SD Negeri Mojolegi (20 students from each class IIIA and IIIB). Both groups received a pretest and a posttest. Data collection also used a closed questionnaire. The results of this study revealed that the use of digital tale media was quite effective in improving the emotional intelligence of elementary school students, especially in the lower grades. Gradually giving fairy tales helped to improve emotional intelligence by looking at the attitudes and behaviour of the characters of the tales so students can show and develop their emotions. Thus, teachers can provide material in stages in the form of digital tales with different themes to improve students' emotional intelligence.

Abstract This study aims to analyze how to cultivate the character of hard-working and peace-loving in tapak suci, as well as describe its inhibiting factor and solution. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were the students of MIN 5 Sragen. Data collection techniques were through observations, interviews, and documentation. Data validation in this study used data triangulation techniques by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicated that cultivating hard-working and peace-loving character in tapak suci as an extracurricular activity at MIN 5 Sragen was carried out by instilling and obeying the rules that had been notified by the coach and warming up before training. The inhibiting factor in cultivating these characteristics was the lack of facilities provided by the school, thus the solution was that the school needed to maximize facilities by asking for help from PEMDA.

Abstract This study aims to analyze the need to use learning and design learning models and test the validity of storytelling learning models. The method used in this research is R&D (Research and Development) with the ADDIE development model. This research was conducted in class IV SDN 60 Salubattang, Palopo City. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, and observation. Data analysis techniques were performed by classifying the data obtained into qualitative and quantitative data. The needs analysis results illustrate that students need interesting concrete visualizations to increase interest in reading. The design of a storytelling learning model assisted by hand puppet media is described in a guidebook which contains model components, media and how to make them, and the technical application of the learning model. The learning model developed through the validation stage by design experts, material experts, linguists, and elementary school instructional practice experts obtained results that were feasible to use.
