The Indonesian Green Technology Journal (IGTJ) is an international journal that publishes recent developments and emerging issues in both conceptual and experimental aspects of green and renewable technology. The Indonesian Green Technology Journal (IGTJ) publishes research results in the theoretical and experimental aspects of green science, engineering, technology, and medicine. Studies published in this journal include; Biomaterials, Green water management, Green energy development and management, Sustainable waste management, Green biotechnology, Green building and architecture, Clean production technology, Global warming technology, and Green building and architecture. This journal also emphasises the significance of green technology development, implementation, challenge, opportunity, and acceptance from an Indonesian perspective. IGTJ is publicly open for publication of review papers, short communication, and research papers. Since 2024, this journal has become an international journal and uses English for every paper that will be published.

Abstract

The urgency of education about bamboo in architectural education is closely related to various problems and contemporary phenomena in the field of settlement and the environment. As an environmentally friendly alternative material, bamboo has various potentials that are generally still underestimated by common people and society. Architecture education students and graduates have an important role in the exploration of this potential, as well as its dissemination to the public at large. However, positive changes and solutions to the problems above will not be achieved without serious efforts in architectural education to instill knowledge, abilities, and awareness about the potential of bamboo to their students. This research is an evaluation of bamboo education to architecture undergraduate students, especially in the Department of Architecture, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. An evaluation of the level of knowledge, abilities, and sensitivity of students regarding various bamboo potentials is carried out with the aim of formulating various strategies and learning methods that are more appropriate.

Abstract

Abstract The research is about perception of community about roof garden in Malang City. In this research, identification of perception is from benefits of roof garden variables, that is : ecology variable, aesthetics variable, economy variable, 3R variable, cultivation variable, and plant pests and diseases variable. The result of this research is most of  the perspondents have agrees about benefit of roof garden variable and doubt in economy variable and 3R variable. The research is useful for parties who will do the making of roof garden in multi-storey building.

Abstract

Synthesizing new functional materials, instead of exploring minerals is one way of creating sustainable development and reducing environmental impact due to irresponsible human exploitation on natural resources. For the last few decades, coordination polymers (CPs) have been emerge as new functional materials with promising features, such as porosity, magnetism, and catalytic activity, CPs have been developed for gas storage, adsorbents, catalysts, magnetic materials, etc. Some common synthetic methods to prepare CPs includes solvo-thermal, bench-top, and melting method. These methods sometimes are unique and the only option to get the targeted CPs. Meanwhile, gel method has been extensively used to grow various crystalline organic and inorganic materials and yet less explored for obtaining CPs. Based on literature review, with some examples from our previous research, this paper is exploring the potential used of gel method for growing crystalline functional CPs, their limitation, as well as advantages and disadvantages. General information about CPs and gel techniques are also presented. Upon discussion, although this method is not the most favourable techniques at this stage, it is suggested that incorporating gel method for growing crystalline functional CPs might be useful and in some cases crucial, especially for low-water soluble inorganic materials.
