Agrotourism needs to be developed continuously in order to give diversification of tourism products. The development is based on the fact that there is a changing motive of tourists from public interest to special one. Batu, as an administrative area, has chances to be developed as a destination of agrotourism because this city has natural beauty, farm and plantation. Regarding this, this article aims to describe potentials and chances of agrotourism development in Batu. The data analysis was done inductively in which the data collection was done to make abstraction instead of hypothesis testing. From the data collection and analysis, it can be concluded that Batu can be considered as a destination of agrotourism which focuses more on product development (product-oriented) instead of market development (market-oriented).

Abstract

Formalin borax and rhodamin are toxic and carcinogenic substances which could cause cells damage in short term, and could cause 50 kond of degenerative disease and cancer in long term. The aims of this study are to know the potent and effectiveness of three of instruments of reagent kit testers: Formalin main reagent (FMR), Borax main reagent (BMR) and Colour main reagent (CMR) to detect formalin, borax and rhodamin on food, and to know the content of formalin, borax and rhodamin on food recently. The result of the study showed that quick detection instruments of reagent kit tester produced by BioChem laboratory are effective and efficient to detect formalin, borax and rhodamin on food, with limit potent minimal concentration detection were 5 ppm or less, in not more 10 minutes periods. Abstract

A child needs to be prepared for well-qualified human resources in the future. Regarding this, there are three basic needs for children to grow optimally: physical, emotional and educational needs. Puskesmas Lawang conducts an event of stimulation and early detection of children’s growth as an effort to fulfill children’s physical needs. However, the condition of facilities as well as building of Puskesmas often makes scared which finally obstructs the examination process. The research method used to solve this problem consists of three stages. The first stage is primary and secondary data collection. Those two kinds of data were compared and analyzed by using data tabulation method to get basic concept for detection room design. This concept was then used as the standard in designing the interior of the room for early detection of children’s growth. Based on the analysis of the activities, detection room is classified into 4 rooms: detection room for age 0-3-6-9-12 months, detection room for age 15-18-21-24 months, detection room for age 30-36-42-48 months, and detection room for age 54-60-66-72 months. In order to create friendly atmosphere in the examination room, the interior for each room is based on simulation activities according to Book of Detection Instrument as well as psychological characters of children within those particular ages.

Abstract

In the teaching of writing, interesting media and appropriate teaching techniques are essential to help learners improve their writing ability. In relation to descriptive text, imagining someone or using pictures to describe has not given meaningful experience for students to get ideas on what to describe and how to describe well. Regarding this, many EFL students of D3 English program of Vocational Program at Brawijaya University still found it difficult to develop and organize ideas of someone’s description. Therefore, using observation realia was proposed to be used as a medium to help students solve their problems in writing a descriptive text. This Classroom Action Research on the use of observation realia was done through process-genre based approach which consisted of 4 stages: planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The result shows that the use of observation realia through process-genre based approach could improve the students’ writing ability in terms of content, organization and language use. English teachers or lecturers are suggested to use observation realia as one of interesting alternative media in teaching writing. Also, further researchers are suggested to develop the use of observation realia for students with different level of education and for different kinds of text types.
